" Overall pretty good value and the car, though a very small Fiat500 was adequate for our needs. Was warned by the rep though that it wouldn't take a large suitcase in the boot and not to put it on the back seat as local police could pull you over for this (presumably as it could be a dangerous loose item in an accident) and was offered slightly bigger car for an extra 5 euros per day. Politely declined this and fitted our suitcase in the boot no problem. "

There were no taxi ranks or bus stops viewable. " My flight got modified by the airline and by the time I was landing, the desk was going to be closed. So I contacted ae to inform that I was going to collect a day later but by all means I wanted to keep the booking. I was told that that was not possible and my booking had to be cancelled and re-booked at the new rate (twice more expensive). I was also told that I had to contact Hertz directly because ae couldn't do anything for me. When I managed to speak with Hertz UK I was told that as the booking was made with ae I had to speak with them, which makes total sense. All I needed was to inform that I was going to pick up the car a day later. I was also told that after 2hrs of the pick up time Hertz had the right to cancel my booking, which I understand if I wasn't calling to inform of the changes on my schedule. I was happy to pay for the car to stay 1 day parked and collect the following morning. I spoke with 3 people at ae customer service, the first person started really bad, but at some point the conversation improved and tried to help me with no luck. The second person was a female, her customer skills are appalling. She tried to use an analogy, saying that renting a car is like a flight, once departed you need to book a new one. I explained that renting a car is like booking a hotel room, if you arrive a day late (you inform the hotel and are happy to pay for the room to be empty) you have the right to keep yhe booking. She was not interested in any of that. The 3rd person did understand my point, he couldn't offer a real solution but he told me that he was putting a message on the booking announcing my late arrival. Did provide anything in writing, which I find not right. He also told me that there was a risk that I might arrive and no cars would be available. In the end I call the desk in Spain, I spoke with a very polite gentleman who listened to me and responded with: nor a problem at all, sir. Your car will be waiting for you, I will leave a message to my colleagues. AutoEurope customer service was a complete disaster, but I have learned my lesson: next time I will book direct with Hertz, I might pay more but will save on the stress and bad experience. "

The Europcar personnel (Carlos & Lis) were very helpful BUT the car had quite a few more small scratches and scrapes than were on the documentation, so we had to go back into the office to report these and to get Carlos to come and note them. So we had to get Lis out of the office again to verify this and to agree that we should return the car car half full - which is not so easy to judge! In the end all was fine, though it took us a little longer to get away from the airport due to this faffing about. "

" VERY angry to arrive at Almeria to find that 'Inter Rent' is now managed by 'Goldcar', which is a company I NEVER use. We were subjected to stressful hard sells to take out their extra insurance, even though we have our own. Even to the fact that should we commit a traffic offence, there is a €45 'admin' charge. There were so many scratches/knocks/dents on the car, we had to return to the desk twice. In the end my husband video'd it with a running commentary. It took us over an hour to get out of the car park once we had been given the keys. If I had been notified of this in advance I would have changed my booking to a much more honourable company, not those sharks. This was a terrible start to our holiday. "

" I have always booked with ZE Interrent at Almeria Airport as it was run by Europcar. To my dismay, I found on arrival that it was now run by Goldcar. If I had known it was Goldcar on booking, I would have opted for a different hire company. On arrival, the lady on the check in desk was very aggresive and even though I had opted for zero excess cover plus cover for glass and tyres, she said this would not cover me for many scenarios and therefore, at a cost of an additional 80 euros, I must take out their own insurance. This fee was almost the same amount for the fee charged for the car rental itself.# Additional she got me to sign a blank form showing that the car had no damage. It was then up to me to inspect the car, and take pictures and this resulted in me having to go back to the check in desk as there was lots of damage particularly to the bumper. I made sure that the blank form she had in her possession signed by me, was amended and I took a photo of that amended form. Most car hire companies list known damage to a vehicle on the rental agreement and it is then only a matter for you to go back to the desk if you find damage not listed. It seems to be totally unprofessional for Goldcar not to list known damage. It almost seems like they are trying to catch you out. That is to say you could end up paying for damage which was already apparent and known to the Company. On returning the vehicle, I insisted that the vehicle was inspected so that I could be advised of any possible damage which I would be liable for. The lady from Goldcar verbally told me that everything was fine but I am still watching my credit card account on a daily basis in case a payment is taken. I just have no confidence in using Goldcar. This does not reflect on your Company and i WILL CONTINUE TO BOOK MY CAR HIRE THROUGH YOURSELVES. This experience with Goldcar "

We would not hesitate in using Auto Europe in the future, but next time will investigate the cost of the additional insurances prior to booking. "
" We arrived at the desk in the airport with a prepaid voucher for a Seat Leon or similar type car. However the staff tried to persuade us to take a different car and then told us it would cost approximately 15 euros per day extra ! I got the impression that they did not have any cars available of the type originally booked (and this seemed to be confirmed by conversations we overhead with customers being attended to at the same time). Only after we made it quite clear we were not happy to pay any extra for something we had already booked and paid for, did they manage to find a car suitable for us. Also we are absolutely astounded at the cost of the premium protection package (the additional insurance to avoid the CDW excess) - they charged a whopping 420 euros for 14 days' hire!! Also they tried to charge us for 15 days, but fortunately we noticed this and corrected their error!! All in all, we feel that Keddy/Europcar were trying to rip us off in every way. " Upon arrival the interrent desk was closed so we had to queue at the Europcar desk so we were delayed in setting off to our accommadation. We also had difficulty finding the car in the darkness with signage being very poor to the parking bays. The car had more damage once viewed in daylight ( the morning after pickup) than on the signed receipt document so we had to try contacting the numbers on the agreement and were unable to get through because of the bank holiday in Spain. We also tried 2 other contact numbers but were told to go back to the agreement number as they could not deal with the problem. Photographs taken in daylight of the additional damage had to be attached to an email and sent to your customer services. This has now been thankfully resolved by email and no further action taken. The interior was not particularly clean due to staining on the seats and the windscreen wipers were badly worn especially on the drivers side so did not wipe the windscreen very well. This was reported at vehicle return. Overall we were quite dissappointed with the vehicle. "

On my next car hire, I expect to be told to pay extra if I want a steering wheel fitted. !! "

" We arrived and had to queue whilst they were having a discussion with a couple returning a car disputing alleged damage. I was told that there was 'no damage' to our car but there was minor scratching to the sill of the boot and a very small chip in the windscreen. I went back to the terminal to report these & they were reported and noted before we drove off. InterRent offered damage XS insurance which would have cost twice the hire cost (declined as I have annual insurance). On return, we parked the car (no one there to check condition in the car park), went into the terminal and advised that there was no further damage and that the tank was full. The person on the desk (Sara?) then went out to check the car. Long delay and came back, showed me a very poor photo on her phone and said that it showed a new scratch. She had already filled out a damage claim form. I went back to the car, saw the mark to which she had referred, got out my hanky, spat on it, rubbed and lo & behold, the 'scratch' disappeared. Went back to the terminal and advised, then out to the car again with her to show her. She accepted this with very bad grace and gave every appearance of looking for further 'faults'. Did not accompany me back to the terminal but told me that her colleague would sort it out. He did so after phoning her. Whilst I had been out at the car, the customer behind was also advised that there was 'additional' damage to his car but that he didn't have to worry as he had their insurance. He didn't think that there was any additional damage but didn't demand to see it. I suspect, though, that he might have signed a form agreeing that there was and allowing the hire company to process a claim. My suspicion is that these people make their money by selling overpriced insurance and falsely claiming for damage that is not the responsibility of the hirer. We had allowed plenty of time to return the car - others would probably be more pressured just to accept the responsibility for the damage. The fact that they have no one on duty to receive cars (even though they are next to Europcar who own them) obliges one to trek back and forth to the terminal - all part of a plan to increase pressure on the client and screw more money out of them. All told, I thought that their modus operandi was appalling and dishonest. I would be very reluctant to use them again . "

It was a Fiat Punto and it struggled to go up hills and seemed very sluggish when compared to, say, a VW Polo. When we got about 2 km from the airport a warning light came on which indicated a low tyre pressure so I topped it up and reset the warning light. The car had a slow puncture as the warning light came on every few days and the tyre needed air regularly. "

" Whilst we had taken insurance with Interrent to cover bodywork and glass we were told that there were scratches to the rear bumper and were then advised to check and report any further damage before taking the vehicle away. A chart of damage dimensions was supplied for stone chips, scratches, dents etc. I questioned this as we were supposed to be fully comprehensively insured and this request made me feel uncomfortable with the cover we had paid for. The reply was it would be to both our benefit if any other damage was reported before hire took place. I again asked if we had or did not have comprehensive insurance for bodywork etc as paid for, we were told we had the above cover. When we turned on the ignition a warning to change the oil was on the screen, we returned to the counter to advise staff of this warning, waited in line to be seen again and were advised to ignore the warning and told that the oil will have been topped-up. Again not very re-assuring to be driving a car with a warning flashing throughout every journey. However the car was clean and did run well throughout the hire period so we would likely still use Interrent if hiring again in Almeria. "

I took the vehicle back and could not get back into car park as my paperwork pass was with the agent. Eventually Internet accepted that it was a faulty fuel gauge. Really not great end to the holiday. "
