    Terminals

There are currently five passenger terminals (Terminals 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5). Terminal 1 has been incorporated into Terminal 2, which service all Star Alliance members, Aer Lingus, Eurowings, Flybe and Icelandair. Terminal 3 is dedicated for long-haul routes to the United States, Asia and other Far East destinations. Terminal 4 handles flights to Asia and North Africa and a few flights to Europe. Terminal 5 is the main hub for British Airways, Iberia and Iberia Express. Heathrow Express offers connections between all terminals and central London.

    Airport Facilities

As one of the world's busiest airports Heathrow offers sensational food and shopping options. The options are varied among the terminals, but all terminals have the same level of service. Free Wi-Fi is offered throughout the terminals for the duration of your stay at Heathrow. Financial facilities such as ATMs and cash machines are scattered throughout the airport.

How to get to and from Heathrow Airport

There are several ways to get to Heathrow Airport, including train, underground and bus. Heathrow Express, a train service, is the fastest way to get to central London, with a journey time of 15 minutes to London Paddington. The airport is also serviced by London underground Piccadilly Line. There are three underground stations at the airport - one for Terminal 2 and 3, and the other two stations at Terminal 4 and 5 respectively. London Underground is the most cost-effective option of transportation with travel time under one hour. Buses and taxis are also available, but typically take longer and are more expensive. Transportation is located at the ground level of all terminals. However, a car rental from Heathrow Airport is the most convenient way of getting around.

    Parking Tips

There are approximately 18,000 parking spots at and around the airport. It is best to pre-plan parking if you know in advance that you will be leaving a car at the airport. Pricing varies between parking garages, and fees are dependent on proximity to the terminals.

If you rent a car from Heathrow Airport and you have plans to drive into central London, it is a good idea to plan your trip ahead of time, as it can be difficult to find parking in the city. Please also take note of whether you will be driving within the Congestion Charge Zone, and ensure that you pay the charge on time. Learn about local driving regulations with our UK driving information page.

Parking restrictions operate for on-street parking Monday to Saturday from 8.40am to 6.30pm, with signs indicating more detailed rules and restrictions. For areas that operate a pay and display scheme, a ticket must be purchased and displayed visibly on your car's dashboard.

Many car parks operate within London, and you can recognise them from the blue sign with a white capital 'P'. These include approximately 100 National Car Parks, together with Q-Park, which offers a discount when you book ahead.
