Paris seduces travellers with its familiar attractions such as the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Notre-Dame and the ultra-modern Pompidou Centre. No one can resist the chance to stand in front of the world’s most popular painting, Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, and wonder about that enigmatic smile!
Famous for its world-class art, iconic landmarks and striking architecture, Paris is an embarrassment of riches, meaning that there’s so much to see and do in a relatively small area, all of which is quickly and easily accessible with a car hire from Charles de Gaulle Airport, the largest air transportation hub in the whole of France.
They say there are two Frances - Paris and the rest of the country. Indeed, the city pulsates to a frenetic rhythm of life, driven by an all-encompassing joie de vivre and a contagious coffee-and-croissant culture found all over the capital, including the more distant suburbs.
On the subject of food - whether you’re picnicking by the Seine, brunching in a bistro or fine-dining in a top gourmet restaurant - Paris promises a feast of cuisine traditionnelle for the multitudes of gastronomads regularly drawn to the city from all four corners the world.
Shopping is another must for people visiting Paris on account of the extraordinarily large number of major stores stocking a wide range of designer brands and luxury items. Beginning at the River Seine, the busy Boulevard Saint German is lined with home décor shops, gourmet-style delicatessans and modern boutiques, making it one of the city’s main locations for fashion studios specialising in high-end haute couture.
