" When I dropped the keys off after the rental and after I had returned I was advised of a small mark on one alloy wheel - I had checked the vehicle. The picture they subsequently sent indicated two small nicks which I could not have caused. I queried it and they would not confirm whether it had been charged to the previous renter. Disappointing and I will not use them again. "

Couldn't be bothered to change our collection time from 11 am until 6 pm after all our flight cancellations unless we paid £42 extra which rose to £220 nearer the time I had to email Avis at Copenhagen airport to organise this and they were tremendous "

" I arrived at the desk while hired a Mercedes, I was told that the only vehicle available was a Qashqai. I argued it was nowhere near close to what I ordered. Had to upgrade just to get something they advertised I would get in the first place. Even after that, it turned out it was station wagon which I specifically told I didn't want. Another 20 mins before I got the car I drove away in. The sales representative just handed me the key and said to check for damages and the car seat for my son was located in a van. It took me about an hour and half to locate and strap the child seat into the car. The pick-up place was notoriously badly lit and I couldn't find anything wrong but when handed it back a tiny scratch was found. Which I am adamant I did not cause. The person I dropped it off with said it looked like an old scratch. And he mentioned to me that the guy walked straight over to the mark in pitch of night. "

" Had to pay extra for winter tyres although they are the safest in Scandinavia in the winter months. There was an alarm going off, something to do with a phone. There wasn't a manual in the car so it took me ages to figure out how to switch it off. I had the car for 20 days, my husband joined me after a week and would have liked to be second driver but he would have to pay for the whole period which seemed a bit unfair. "

" The car was rather dirty outside, making it VERY difficult to check for damage. The sprinkler was empty, no window scraper and inside of windscreen was smeared, making driving quite dangerous. Furthermore there were old soggy sweats stuck to the bottom of the compartment between the two front seats. "
