" Unfortunately I had booked my rental car at Gardermoen airport in Oslo and not Torp so on arrival I had no transport. However, as Avis had an office at Torp airport, I asked if I could take a car from there. The assistant was very helpful, however, he told me that this wasn't possible because they systems between Avis and the two airports don't speak to each other. I found this astounding as Avis is one of the biggest car rental companies. To make matters worse all trains had been cancelled due to signal problems. The assistant told me Gardermoen was 1 hour 40 mins away and the only way was by bus, which had left the airport or taxi. We had five cases between us and other hand luggage so I had to pay-out £312 for a taxi to take us to Gardermoen. "

" Clean car would have been nice. It's the fact that the car was new to us that it was electric hybrid which neither my wife or I had never driven. You press button and depress brake pedal. Engine idles. Then engine switched off. We didn't know that once you depress accelerator car pulls away. It would have been very helpful if shown this. We felt staff member had to be elsewhere rather than deal with us as customers who had had a long day with two flights getting to Avis Tromso. We will go with Avis again, shame about lack of customer care on this occasion. "
" Arrived at the Avis counter. Given keys and told in bay 4. Expected to be taken by staff member and shown car. It felt like Avis staff member needed to be elsewhere, not a great start. Car was dirty from outside. It was hybrid electric. Have never driven hybrid before. It was a steep learning curve. If we'd actually been shown and told about the car in the first place it would have been better. "

" Unfortunately the address where the car supposed to be picked uo were wrong. When i came to picking up point gates were closed so i cobtacted Avis representtaive in UK.. She transferred me to the owner of the car. And hebtold me that address is wrong and they moved 2.5 years ago to the anothet location. So i cancelled the booking but until now i did not get a refund "

I called Auto Europe to explain to which I was told I had to cancel my current booking at a cost of £50 and re-book again at the same price. Car for less time but still had to pay the same? They tried calling Avis to see if they would hold my original booking on several occasions but failed every time to get to speak to someone. not impressed! "
