" I thought I had got a good deal, but the overall cost ended up being higher and also I found it confusing the work out the differences when the prices were translated into the different currencies. This can be misleading and confusing about whether you are paying the origional price or something else. "
" There were alot of hidden costs in my opinion, it ended up being more than quoted as I added extras which turned out to be quite expensive. At the desk there was alot of paper work to agree to which I didn't get chance to properly read what with being in a rush, just getting into the airport etc. I ended up just having to agree to everything without clearly understanding it. The process took a while due to communication delays between desk and car storage staff, I had already let them know I wanted a car with GPS yet nothing suitable was ready at the time we arrived, though we had told the company in advance our arrival time. I was asked about various car models, whether I was happy with those and having no knowledge of cars jsut had to agree despite having no clue what these cars were. Thankfully we ended up with a good model, only slighter larger than I expected and the GPS was perfect. Although I beleive we did have to pay extra for the larger car, which I do not agree with as you should have made sure what I wanted was available at the price already agreed rather than end up having to upgrade at my own expense. The returning of the car was very fast, I was not sure of the procedure, this being my first time hiring a car and I felt I should have been allowed more time to check the final condition in an area with better lighting. I wanted to take photos of the car but forgot due to feeling I had to rush to [INVALID] baggage and move along. "

" During the rental I got a flat tire. It was almost impossible to get through to the correct department (Recovery) to get it sorted. I was given 5 different 1-800 numbers to call. When I finally got through to the right person, and speaking to them for 10 minutes, they permanantly left me on hold in excess of 1 hour. I had paid for a car rental for a trip to Canada, the terms and conditions for the rental stated that I was required to pay 10 dollars a day up to a maximum of 50 dollars on arrival for an additional driver. When I arrived, however, I was informed that this was not the case and the staff advised their cost was 12 dollars 99 cents a day for every day of the hire, to add to this they also charged for each day the car would be out of province which was stated no where when the purchase was made. I showed the desk staff the terms and conditions of the rental I had paid for however they refused to discuss this any further and would not provide the car until all additional costs were paid which amounted to 320 dollars. As a result of this, I had no other option other than to pay as no management were available to speak to and the desk staff were not willing to discuss this any further. being charged such a large amount of money over what was stated within the terms of conditions I had agreed to resulted in a trip of a lifetime being ruined as the extra money required for the car took away from other activities that had been budgeted for. The car which was selected for the rental was unavailable also and we were given something completely different which was much larger than what we had requested which my partner was not comfortable to drive therefore completely negating the payment for an additional driver. All in all the experience was awful and I feel completely ripped off, I would like to seek a refund for the service and compensation as not only was the service fraudulently portrayed this had a negative impact on a once in a lifetime trip. Only slight negative is that I had to pay locally for the "one way" rental I required, an extra $500 CA, which I don't think was clear on your website when I booked it (or if was, should have been made clearer). Overall, however, the price paid was reasonable for what I had. "
" The Port Hardy Budget office i booked from describes itself as "Downtown", so chose that thinking I might be able to walk to it. Downtown it isn't, however, being about 8 km out, best part of the way to the airport and requiring transport if you're staying in town. Taxis are hard to come by in Port Hardy and I was facing an hour's delay to get out to pick up my rental, but when I contacted Budget to let them know this, they offered to come and pick me up, which they did. Worth requesting this in advance if you're going to use them. Otherwise happy with the car, the staff and the overall rental experience. "
