Insurance

The vehicle is insured for damage to both it and any property belonging to a third party. The supplier also has additional insurance options available to reduce your excess deposit and/or provide extra road-assistance coverage. These insurance options can be pre-booked during the reservation process but will need to be paid locally at the time of pick-up or you can book them directly with the supplier. At the time of pick-up, the supplier will block approximately 3,000 Australian dollars on the main driver's credit card and you need to be aware that neither cash nor debit cards are accepted for payment of the rental. The excess is fully refundable if the vehicle is returned on time with a full tank of fuel and in compliance with all the other terms of the rental contract.

Important things to keep in mind when hiring a campervan with Hippie Camper

To drive one of our vehicles, the main driver (and any additional driver) will need to hold a full driver's licence that is valid for the entire duration of the hire period and which must have been in their possesion for a minimum of two years. If the driver's licence is not in English, then an International Driver's Licence (or accredited English translation) is mandatory and must be submitted together with the original driver's licence (please note that copies are not accepted).

Please take into consideration the fact that you might need to wait at least an hour to pick up the vehicle, which could be even longer during peak times. The Hippie Camper employee will take you through the rental agreement and show you to the vehicle.
