    Worth knowing about Munich

Our day trip begins at the world famous Marienplatz, the main square in the very centre of Munich. This is a prime location for shops and cafes and is dominated by the neo-Gothic façade of the New Town Hall. This is why Marienplatz is the ideal starting point for your sightseeing tour.

A good foundation is the essential thing for a whole day on the go. The old-fashioned quaint inn Weißbräuhaus is located in Tal Street 7. Besides many other Bavarian specialities, you can also get the typical Bavarian Weißwurstbreakfast. This whole area is quite idyllic and historic and you can see a number of lovely cafés and shops Hofbräuhaus and Viktualienmarkt, the city's most popular market.

After breakfast, head straight for Platzl, one of the oldest and most original squares in Munich, with the world-famous Hofbräuhaus.

Afterwards we return to Marienplatz. The well-known bell and figurine game with episodes from Munich's history of the town starts punctually at 11 am. Now it goes high: over 300 steps lead you to the viewing platform of the Old Peter church tower. From here you'll have a wonderful view, not only of the Marienplatz, but over all of Munich and even of the Alps on beautiful days.

Take a short detour to Munich's pedestrian zone, again downstairs. Only about a hundred metresaway, in the Kaufingerstrasse, you will find the famous Frauenkirche with its two towers. There are many legends and interesting facts about this church. Step in for a moment of silence and appreciation.

Your stomach is probably slowly growling again and the hunger leads you directly to the next sight: past the City Museum, the Jewish Museum, the Synagogue and the Schrannenhalle you reach the Vitualienmarkt.

Here you will find all imaginable delicacies and a very special Bavarian tradition: the Biergarten Brettzeit. You can now enjoy the Bavarian way of life at a nice spot in the beer garden in the middle of the market, with cheese, sausage, bread, pretzels, vinegar cucumbers, spreads, fruit, fruits and a cold drink.

After having eaten well, rent a rickshaw directly from Marienplatz to the Odeonsplatz. Visit the Feldherrnhalle and the Theatinerkirche and then continue along the Theatinerstraße to the Fünf Höfe. This award-winning, new architecture gem in Munich makes the building much more complex than an ordinary shopping mall.

After such an eventful day, you will most certainly get hungry in the evening. Bavarian cuisine is the right choice for gnawing hunger. Just behind the Frauenkirche on the Sporerstraße, the choice between three traditional restaurants is difficult: the Andechser at the cathedral, the Nürnberger Bratwurst Glöckl and the Augustiner am Dom. It is best to book a table during the day as all restaurants downtown can get pretty busy in the evening.
