What can be more fun than travelling to your desired destination with a group of friends or family, renting a car and starting your trip? Before renting a car. take a look at what else in addition to all the needed documents for picking up the car, you need to keep in mind.

    Age limit
The age limit for renting a car can vary from 18 to 25 years, and often a young driver surcharge applies. Most suppliers also require a minimum 1-2 year-old driving license. Some suppliers have a maximum renting age and a senior driver surcharge.

    Extra coverage
With most suppliers, the basic price does not cover all damage. You can buy them locally or take a look at Auto Europe's Refundable Excess or Super Cover packages.

    Travel Restrictions
Especially in bigger countries with several states or in countries with extreme weather conditions or terrain suppliers have strict travel restrictions. Sometimes travel to different regions of the country is forbidden or limited, driving on water, beaches or off road is not allowed, and cars cannot be taken to islands.

    Limited Kilometres
Plan your route and choose your rental car wisely. Some suppliers have limited kilometres and you have to pay a lot more for additional kilometres.

    Extra drivers
Suppliers charge for additional drivers and can have limitations. Sometimes your spouse can drive for free, or especially during the summer, one extra driver may be included in the price.

Some suppliers require purchasing a special toll collecting device, and some will offer the option to pay all the tolls after returning the car. Also driving in specific areas or crossing them might come with some extra charges.

    Crossing borders
Every supplier has their own restrictions regarding travelling abroad. Note countries of travel on your booking and we will confirm, if the supplier will allow it and if it will cost extra.

    One way fee
If you won't return the car to the pick-up office, this may cost extra and must be confirmed with the local supplier. If you book a one way rental through our booking engine, we will inform you of its availability and possible fee.

Do you need a child seat or GPS? Through our website you can add the extra equipment in advance on our booking engine. We confirm it with the supplier so you have it when you arrive and you pay for it locally.
