" I arrived at the Dollar desk at 7:30am for a booking starting 08:30am. They religiously made me wait 1 hour until 08:30am to even look at the booking. Later I found out that a staff shift change happened in that hour, hence the reluctancy to deal with my reservation close to shift ending. The Staff tried to change contract terms and tried to apply an excess on my Zero-excess rental. They were very insistent. They also applied a deposit of AED 3000. The car booked was not available so they gave me a smaller car instead. I had guests to take with me and the whole rental was to fit us all with luggage. clearly this changed our plan and we had to spend considerable additional money on taxis...etc On returning the car, no space to park the car, kept going in a loop. 3 staff members in the Dollar cabin and none of them cared to come out and assist. overall, not a good experience. "

" I did not pick up the car. There was no car available till much later the time I had booked. The type of car I wanted was not available. I was offered a hatchback which I am not comfortable driving and tried to charge 3000 AED for a 24 hr hire. The counter staff was completely disinterested. He could have called and told me about the car difference well in advance. Chose not to and arrogantly thought I would just accept whatever he gave me. Waste of time and money for taxis. "

" Upon arrival my flight was delayed which means you would assume the vehicle would be prepared and ready. The car was late. On collection the car was as requested a non smoking vehicle. The car had a terrible smell of stale smoke despite the non smoking sticker on the dash board. The car had to be exchanged the next day in Dubai as it was not acceptable or bearable. Upon exit of Abu Dhabi airport car park I was issued an exit ticket which did not work as it had AED 175 owing on the ticket. I was told by the staff to just explain to the car park attendant and he would allow me to exit. A further delay. The service was poor to say the least, the cars were dirty not well presented with parcel shelf broken which meant luggage exposed. "

I would like to have something more than cost in order to judge car hire services; eg quality of car, quality of service, effectiveness at dealing with issues. "
" Initial car was high mileage, with one major dent and a number of smaller dents, scratches, and panel misalignment, along with interior trim hanging off. No alternative was available at the airport but a change out was promised within a one hour window the next day; when it didn't arrive it took a number of phone calls and broken promises before it was eventually changed out eight hours later. The replacement car was what I would expect of a reasonable car hire. "
