    Driving Licence Requirments

    In order to drive a vehicle in Bolivia you must be at least 21 years old and have a full driving licence valid in your country of residence. It is recommended to obtain an international drivers licence.

    Age Restrictions

    To drive in Bolivia, you need to be, at least, 25 years old (age may vary depending on the vehicle) and have held a license for 1 year as well as insurance. An international driver's license may be acquired for a short-term stay.

    The tolling system in Bolivia covers most roads: a stamped receipt is acquired at the first Bolivia toll and stamped on the following toll posts.

    Parking Information

    Do not park the car overnight on a street, always use hotel parking or a well-lit area. It is advised also not to leave any valuable in a parked vehicle.
