" I hired a Renault Arkana car from Europcar from 22nd to 25th November 2024. The contract number is 53596052 When I returned the car to the airport at approximately 2pm on the 25th there was a minibus waiting to take customers to the terminals. There was no driver in the bus and the back doors were left open. My wife and I are both senior citizens and she is unable stand for very long so I asked her to sit in the bus while I got the car checked in. At the time there was a lack of employees to check in the car but I found one and within a few minutes I was on the bus. Unknown to me the Europcar bus driver had a very rude exchange of words with my wife when she asked him to wait till I was on board the bus. He wanted to leave without me and would have done so were it not for the intervention of another passenger. When we arrived at Terminal 2 he didn't have the courtesy to open the door or take our suitcases out of the rear of the bus. Again, it was thanks to the kindness of the passenger who had earlier defended my wife when the driver was unprofessionally rude to her. He helped us to take our heavy suitcases out of the vehicle while the driver ignored us and stayed in his seat. We believe the lack of assistance from the driver was deliberate due to spite on his part. I travel regularly to Ireland and up to this point I was happy with the service I had received from Europcar but they employ staff who are rude and unprofessional to my wife and myself so I won't be hiring a car from Europcar any time in the future and I will ensure that other potential customers are made aware of this incident. "

" Europcar via Autoeurope in Dublin was bad and very poor as previous month had booked direct with Europcar and all went well. On the recent booking, Europcar gave us the wrong set of keys and took 30 mins to sort that whilst they found us a car!), then the car had small damages not recorded which we photographed beforee leaving Europcar depot for our holiday. Car use was fine and was told on return it was fine and we would receive an email within 24 h but have received no email from Europcar and now 10 day after returning car the deposit has still not been returned. So a bad experience and still not resolved! "

" Yes I found the staff very friendly just like the staff in Antrim when I booked a car there. One of the attractions was that you do not penalise older drivers. I do not see why you should either as I would imagine they are much more careful drivers. The point i would make is you do not major on tis great selling point which you should do. Lots of pressure put on so I paid another £64 to insure the car. They said that auto europ who I'd booked through were con artists and I'd been mis sold insurance from them that was not valid. They told me to put in a case on my return and try to claim the money back. I now think it's europ car who scammed me with their drama and pressure at the desk, another lady was being told exactly the same, she was almost crying. It was a hideous experience. Then I was told that the car was off airport but that I could upgrade to a car that was in the carpark on site for €6. I was subsequently charged €60. At drop off, I was told that these were new (emphatically NOT new) and that my caution was being retained. I showed the contract with CDW but Europcar was adamant. " When i arrived at the desk to collect my vehicle there was a large queue for twenty minutes, I gave my details to gentleman at the desk and collected the keys . When i arrived at the carpark bay to collect my vehicle i notice it was not what i had booked online ! I booked a full size 7 seater they where trying to pam me off with 5+2 vehicle i could of hired for £485 not £785 i had already paid. So with my bad mobility i had to walk back to the customers service desk to be told that the clark at the desk gave me the wrong vehicle! I was messed round for another hour to be told they did not have a full size 7 seater! I said to the assistant they will have to find one for me , so he go's off again to speak to his management and returns after another 30 minutes to tell me they have found a full size 7 seater but it would not be ready for another 45 minutes ! so i said we will wait for it to arrive, we where told they would get us some tea while we were waiting but nothing turned up not even a glass of water ! in the meantime one of my passenger who is a diabetic when into hypo! to be told my a member of staff there is a drinks machine over there you can use if you have got change. After over three hours we finally collected the vehicle we should have got in the first place. After all the hassle at the car collection point , I feel I should be refunded at least 25% of my rental . Kind Regards Eugene Sweeney "

" The car was perfect , the hard sell of insurance was very intimidating, the counter assistant was aggressive when I said I had booked a car with all insurance requirements, he told me that because I had used a website that wasn't theirs everything was invalid, he was rude and had I been elderly I would probably have taken all his suggestions which would have been several hundred Euro. When dropping the car off I was helped by a lovely young man , a credit to auto Europe, the drop of point is quite a walk from the terminal, my mother is 84 and not very steady on her feet, the young man saw this and offered to drive us to the terminal . He was so different to the guy at collections. Because of the aggressive attitude of the counter assistant I would not recommend your company nor would I choose to use it again, maybe the young guy(wish I knew his name) could give your other operatives a lesson in customer service. "

" No problems with booking voucher system although it would be really great if rental company (europcar) were aware that I had purchased your excess insurance to stop them trying to sell me theirs. "
" As usual, car had marks on bodywork that we know weren't caused by us that they tried to blame on us on drop-off. When you pick car up at night you have to rely on honesty of system to protect you from this sort of thing. "

" Pick up fine, very quick, very friendly. Return nvg. Loads of people returning vehicles at the same time, very few staff to receive them in a poky shack. I am elderly and walk with a stick and cannot stand in line for long - the few seats inside were all occupied. Larger return premises needed. "

" Car was dirty and damaged so up graded to better car with sat Nav then this came and sat Nav didn't work he asked me to call at the main dealer to have it checked I declined and down graded to anther car Then they charged me more money plus charged me for a out of date screen sat Nav which had never been updated in its life so overall a bad experience "
