" We have just received the receipt for our car hire by email. On examining the details, we noted that we had been charged for two sets of car hire excess waiver insurance. We have always had our own separate insurance for this. If the desk personnel asked, we simply informed them that we were already covered. The man on the desk did not ask us and nor did he inform us that we were being charged for insurance. Likewise, we were charged for eight days of congestion charges, SEK 20 per day, despite the fact that we rarely enter the congestion charge zone in Gothenburg. Previously we paid any congestion charges in arrears after the car hire period. Could you please revert with an explanation. "

" The issue I have is that I pick the car up from Landvetter Airport Gothenburg which is the nearest airport to my final destination, which is Ulricehamn between Boras and Jonkoping. I therefore go nowhere near Gothenburg its self but I have been charge a Gothenburg city toll of £13.06 plus a non sterling transaction of 0.38. As I hire a car for this trip six or seven times a year this surcharge adds up. It takes the gloss of what was a very pleasing experience with Eurocar "

" The vehicle issued to us at Europcar Stockholm airport had significant damage all over it, as highlighted in their initial handover / takeover report. It was clearly not roadworthy or in a state fit enough for a family to safely take on for a week. Furthermore, the front right tyre would deflate daily, meaning we would have to drive it to a garage twice a day to inflate it back up to safe limits, taking time out of our schedule to do so. When we arrived at our Airbnb the first night, we called Europcar office to notify them of the problem. We then called the recovery team who wouldn't replace the tyre, instead only pumped it up for us. By the morning, it was flat again. The engineer noted there was no spare wheel in the vehicle, nor was there a compressor for us to pump it up - again showing this was not a safe or roadworthy vehicle for a family to be transported in. On return of the vehicle, we informed the service desk that it needs to be taken off the road immediately and repaired, with the proper equipment installed in case of breakdown. When we first received the vehicle, it really looked like it has been in an accident, and when we asked the team for another vehicle, they said they did not have one. In a subsequent report from Europcar, they identified damage to the front right tyre, which might have occurred by us driving on a deflating wheel, which we cannot be responsible for. We initially asked Europcar for another vehicle, which was refused, and later for them to replace the wheel, which was refused also. We explained our ordeal again to the service desk and asked to speak to a manager, who did not want to have a conversation. Instead we received a proxy message saying they "..wouldn't charge us for one of the car seats." This was a terrible experience for my family. We were frightened driving in an unsafe vehicle in a country we didn't know. We found this debacle completely awful, which ruined our holiday experience. "

" I emailed this am in relation to additional charges applied to my credit card Some £105 was charged to my credit card and i have yet to receive a breakdown of these charges . On checking my voucher when i booked the car any additional driver would cost 50sek per day ( 8 days equal 400 sek approx £30 . The car was refuelled 4 km from Arlanda Airport and should have accrued no additional cost for fuelling . No damage was noted at the time of return . I am somewhat at a loss as to how £105 was chsrged to my card . How this is resolved will have a complete bearing on wether i use Europcar in the future . Grateful if the fees could be reviewed and check what exactly i was carged for . All insurane, taxes etc were paid on my origional booking at the start of July . " I was charged an extra 1100,00sek at the end of the hire period..... for airport tax (348,00sek) and congestion charge (440,00sek) .....and also Damage Cost Reduction Theft (440,00) and Damage Cost Reduction (660,00sek) neither of which I asked for at the time of picking up the car. " All very smooth apart from one issue: The price was meant to be all-inclusive (including cross-border travel from Sweden to Finland, which I stated in my application). But at the handover Europcar wanted to charge extra for breakdown cover in Finland. They agreed to waive the fee based on the details in the booking but it might be helpful to future customers if this type of issue is resolved between Auto Europe and Europcar before the booking is completed. "
