" On arrival at the Sixt/Flizzr desk at Shannon Airport, I was given a warm welcome by Derek Quinn who was very helpful and explained clearly the details of my booking arrangements and the potential additional options. In hindsight, it would have been helpful if we had discussed the process when I was returning the vehicle ie we followed the signs to the returns area to find that we had to park it in the short stay car park and drop the key back at the desk. Derek was particularly helpful when, having gone to pick up the car, I noticed a number of "marks/dents" which had not been noted in the email rental agreement I received. I returned to the desk and he provided me with his email address to enable me to send photos of this "damage" and duly emailed me back to acknowledge my email a short time after I had sent it. Given that some of the marks/dents were very apparent, I am a bit surprised that no record of these appeared on the rental agreement. "

" The booking was with Flizzr, but there was no such signage at Cork Airport and we had to enquire as to which desk to approach. This added uncertainty and delay to the experience. On the first day, the key battery failed, leaving us at first unable to unlock the car and then to lock it. We were concerned it would auto lock but didn't. However being unable to lock the car for 3/4 days of the rental was v inconvenient and adversely impacted our holiday. Given the importance of electronic key opening, and despite the young age of the car, I would have thought key batteries would be regularly checked - clearly ours was at fault as they are supposed to last a lifetime. " The car I was given was perfect. However, 20 minutes after leaving the Airport I had a warning message on the dash to inform me there was a loss of tyre pressure and I should check the pressures and reset. I was on the M50 heading for Arklow with no safe opportunity to stop and it was raining so I carried on to my destination. About an hour's drive away. The following morning I checked the tyres. They all still had pressure but one of the tyres was slowly getting softer than the others. On further examination I saw that one of the rear tyres had a screw imbedded in it and this explained the slow loss of pressure. I checked the boot and found the spare wheel. However, the key to undo the lock nuts in the wheel was missing so I couldn't change the wheel. I contacted SIXT customer services and they put me through to roadside assistance. In the end they had to arrange for a recovery truck to retrieve the car and take it back to Dublin and send a new car to me. This took the whole of the second day of my rental so I had no car. To make matters worse I had arranged to take my 97 year old father to his home town in County Claire on the other side of the country and thus trip, to his bitter disappointment had to be cancelled, as a result of me not having the vehicle. "

However on booking I had thought that the car rental company was auto Europe since our paperwork did not make it very clear that the actual rental company was Flizzr. So, I could not hire the car without paying £172 on top of your fee to take out additional insurance (for using a debit card). Not happy at all. " Problems on collection=due to Covid 19, Dublin T1 desks were closed (No problem). however, none of the collection desks mentioned Flizzer, so I didn't know what to do. Eventually found they belonged to Sixt, so found them in terminal 2. Not given any specific return instructions, so I went to normal return depot to find Sixt were the only company closed. A notice on the gate said to return to T1 or T2 car park in airport. Local employee who was there said T1 area was closed, so return to T2. It was helpful to follow him to the area. When we got there there all the reserved Sixt spaces were full so we had to park adjacent to them. When returning the key, no-one checked the car. The desk staff said someone would be in touch (on collection there was more damage than listed and I had taken photos). No-one has been in touch to say returned car was OK and holding charges were released. I feel a bit in limbo. I understand that Covid 19 has caused major problems, but feel that Flizzr/Sixt could significantly improve their processes to avoid some of these problems. "

" It was only after I signed the contract that I was informed that I would be taken by bus to the compound, this in itself was not a problem, however my car hire started from the moment I signed on the dotted line at the airport desk and I did not actually drive the car away until more that half an hour later. This then meant I had to return the car half an hour earlier than I planned causing more waiting time in the airport than was necessary. There were numerous scratches on the vehicle and the emblem missing from the back none of which were itemised on the contract and as we were told to just drive away before taking photos that is what we did but I hope that there are no arguments now about the condition of the vehicle as no staff member came out to the car with us. As this was my first time in Ireland I was concerned about the toll situation and it would have been nice to know at the beginning of the car hire that the tolls are charged to my credit card at the end of the hire period. Because our call was within 48 hours of the trip, the company refused to give us our money back. Get people to book cheap car hire and hit them with an outrageous bill because you are trapped. Very unhappy with the service. When we arrived at the collection centre we were allocated our car and told where it was located, the assistant said it was Blue we could not find it in the location it was more light mauve. A cleaner said it was not in that location and got us to walk to the front of the building with our cases he could not locate the car and went off with the keys so say to enquire after nearly 10 minutes i had to go back to the desk only to find he had left the keys and disappeared eventually the assistant took us to the car which was in the original location. a better colour description would have helped. I also feel that some signed paperwork confirming that no charges are required once the car has been inspected on return would be helpful "

" My daughter booked the car through a broker for me to drive in Ireland, and so we arrived at sixt counter to find I had forgotten my personal credit card.......my fault,my wife and I have a shared joint account but that was no good. My daughter and son in law and wife all had cards to guarantee any fees but still no good. The assistant was very hard to understand when trying to explain things to us. We were charged over €300 which was eventually reduced to €160 to get a car upgraded to a vw touran and had to go to sixt headquarters where we found the assistant had changed the car to a golf.The manager changed it back to a vw touran and all staff there were very helpful. From a simple car pickup to getting on the road was herendus and spoilt our long weekend for all our family, plus the extra expense which wasn't catered for, there was no PR at all from the airport counter people. very very disappointed, will not use them again for sure. " We used autoeurope three times on this past trip, once in Nice, once in Gatwick and the last time in Dublin. In Nice we had a Renault Twingo and it was a great little car. We booked the same size car for Dublin and got a Dacia and it was awful to drive. Gatwick was another story, they didn't have a car at all even though I had booked and prepaid a month earlier. After an hour and a half gave me a Volvo which they said would be £20 per day then tried to charge an exorbitant price when I dropped it off. I still don't know if the $300 Canadian I paid was put toward the bill. Very confusing "

" I arranged the rental of a car, in my husband's name, to be collected from Dublin Airport. The agreement stated that we must present a credit card in his name when we collected the car, which we did. He was then asked to enter the PIN number for this card, which he doesn't know and the only resolution we were offered was to use a debit card & take out full insurance at a further cost of £111. We were told there was nothing else to be done & this was our only option. Later I realised that actually there were other options. I'd offered to add my name to the driver agreement & use my own credit card, but was told I couldn't do this. No one thought to offer us a brand new agreement in which I was the primary driver & could then use my credit card. There was also the option of entering my husband's credit card details manually (as you would if paying over the phone). I am really angry that no other options were presented to us, despite us following the guidelines & instructions & the only outcome the salesman was willing to consider cost us 3 times the original car rental cost. That is inconvenient to customers when there's staff just a few feet away! The condition of the vehicle was the main issue. It was a 62 reg Capture and had 93km on the clock - it drove like it had triple that. There was also a lot of damage on the vehicle and as mentioned, I had to send through additional pictures so i would not be liable. I don't expect brand new spotless vehicles but 6 year old damaged hounds is not ideal and why i wouldn't recommend Sixt even through it what cheap. I'd rather pay a bit more for a better vehicle. "

The car had very high mileage (95000) and was generally worn out. Some of the faults: nearside front top suspension mount very noisy, vibration through steering wheel, exhaust or heat shield very noisy. Conversation inside the car was difficult. "

" The car I actually got was a diesel Kia Sportage SUV. I initially ordered from the web which gave a description of a Toyota Rav4 but i knew that another car could be substituted depending on what they have available The Kia turned out to be a lovely big car for 4 of us plus luggage. Great to drive. Air con, cruise control, really comfortable, reasonably powerful, despite the limitations of a diesel engine. The Sat nav was disabled so you'll have to rent one, but worth it to rent. Could also link iPhone to sound system. It was a shame to give it back! Easy to order car online with auto europe, plus they give you an option to purchase insurance to cover the Euro 2,000.00 excess which I did. Peace of mind! Easy collection at airport, tho' do check car carefully. You have to collect from parking area yourself. They put a ticket in car showing dents marks. Our car, although 99% good condition, did have some additional scratches not on their list. Take pictures and email them (or go back to desk). They tell you to email if needed, when collecting keys. Make sure you put your contract number on email and not reg no. Return of car was easy too. Flizzr must be popular as there were three people in front, yet no one at other car hire desks. It takes a while to go through renting procedure when picking up, so if others are also picking up in front of you when giving back, you'll have a potential wait, so DO allow yourself some extra time on getting back to airport, bearing in mind you'll have a plane to catch Would def recommend!! "

" Upon collection I explained to Neve (apologies if not spelt correctly) that I only needed one of the Child chairs for 2 days - not 4 as per the duration of the car booking itself. Neve agreed to reduce the charge for the car seat to 2 days as per my actual usage and told me to drop the car seat off at the car returns location on Sunday 5th August at 12:00hrs. I attempted to return the car seat at the agreed time to the SIXT drop off point where the car seat came from. WHen I handed the seat over to Marek he advised me that he was unable to give me a receipt / confirmation that I had returned the car seat - he was very obtuse in his response to me. I then advised him that I would not return the car seat if he couldn't guarantee me that the seat would a) not go missing and b) I wouldn't get charged additionally for it going missing when I returned the car. I also explained that the staff at the airport advised me to do what I was doing and his lack of help was very unprofessional. At this point he actually mocked my physical demonstration that I was using to show what I was doing i.e. gesturing with my hands that staff to the left of him told me to bring this over to him - he did it in a very condescending manner shrugging his shoulders and repeating what I was saying in a mocking way i.e. saying blah blah blah. I have never been spoken to by someone who works in a service where customers are the people who pay their salaries, and never will I be again. I did end up swearing at Marek as he drove me to a point where there was no progress that could be made. He also refused to phone Neve to get confirmation that what I was saying was the truth. At this point I filmed the car and seat being returned to the office - to which Marek remonstrated. I advised him that once I returned the seat to Neve at the customer services desk I would delete the video. SO over to Neve I went, I asked her for a word out of the hearing ears of customers who were picking up their cars and I explained everything that happened above. Neve advised that what I was doing was not the norm for them - to which I advised her that all I wanted was commitment from them that I had returned the car seat as I had received it - this is not too much to ask. Neve took receipt of the car seat and left a note on my file that I had returned it. I have emailed Flizzr / SIXT to lodge a formal complaint about Marek from the car returns team. Can Auto Europe please follow this up as well. They need to address this level of unprofessionalism. "

Waited nearly half an hour for pickup at airport (appeared to have one small mini-bus and could not get on first pick-up due to number waiting). All other car hire companies had a multitude of buses at a far more regular basis. On arrival had a long cue and on average were taking over 20mins to sort car per customer. Even when I got to front girl then explained they had to try and source me a suitable car (again even though my booking had been done many weeks in advance and they knew I was coming!). When I commented that their car lot was full of SUVs girl made an excuse that they were all automatics. When I then commented I was happy to pay extra if it meant I could get my car quicker she then said none were available!!!!. From getting out of airport and getting my car took over 1.5hrs! When car came someone had sprayed with water in a very bad attempt at cleaning (or covering up scratches!). Last trick was that car fuel tank was not completely full and needle sitting short of full mark (probably saving then at least £5 of fuel), if doing for every car this is a great scam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also had to insist someone walk round car with me and mark up damage as paperwork in car was blank. NOT BEST START TO HOLIDAY AND VERY STRESSED BY TIME I HAD LEFT THEIR SITE! "

He couldn't even break down the type of cover available. He was like that will cost you 34.99 per day and no detail of the cover .
