There was no one at the Drivalia office... the jacket was draped over the chair, the lights were on but the assistant was nowhere to be found. There was a note to say that there was a key box but although I followed the instructions I couldn't find it! I thought I would miss my flight, so I just pushed the paperwork and the car key through the window onto the desk! It's absolutely shocking when there is a flight leaving (and bear in mind Genoa is a tiny airport) and there is a passenger who needs to return a car, to leave the office totally unattended !!! "

" We had booked to collect our car from Genoa Ferry Terminal at 10.30 on 24/6/22. When we got to the terminal the Hertz office was shut with a notice that it opened at 10.30. We waited and waited and eventually found out from a secuirty guard that there was a festival and that the office wasn't going to open as there was a festival. We then phoned Hertz at Genoa airport who told us that they knew about our booking and had informed Auto Europe a few days ago that the office would not be open but that they did not have our contact details as you had not passed them on. Whilst waiting for our taxi, I phoned you on your UK number. I spoke to someone and told him what had happened and he asked me to hold. After holding for about 10 minutes, I ahd to ring off as the taxi had arrived. I didn't receive a return call or email. I have attached the receipt for the taxi - I don't know yet how much the calls I and my wife made cost, and I reserve the right to claim the cost of those as well as the attached taxi receipt. I also require some compensation for the stress, wasted time and inconvenience that this I would like an explanation as to why we were not informed of the Ferry Terminal office closure and why no one returned my call on the 24th. "

" I have always found the Auto Europe booking engine provides all the information I require and the system at collection works very efficiently. On the ocassions I have needed to change something (i.e. dates) this has been handled very efficiently. I couldn't say AE are the cheapest 100% of the time but I book via AE most frequently. "
" The handling of collection and drop-off by the Sicily by Car staff was very good with little waiting and efficient paperwork, the only issue I had was vehicle preparation. The inside of the windscreen was quite dirty, the windscreen washer had no additive it was just clear water but worst issue was that when I arrived at my destination after about 130 km on the motorway and checked the engine oil the level there was no sight of the oil on the disptick, this necessitated the immediate addition of 1 litre of oil which brought it to under halfway up the dipstick measuring area, so it was probably 1.5 litres below the high mark on the dipstick. The car did not burn oil so this was very poor preparation and could have been quite a problem if I hadn't spotted it as the next thing to happen would be the oil pressure warning light coming on, so I have marked down vehicle condition. " Having read a number of very bad reviews about Locauto I was a little apprehensive about using them, but as it turned out everything went very smoothly and I'd have no hesitation in recommending the Locauto location at Genoa Airport. "
" The Locauto location at Genoa Airport is the most distant from the terminal, so on arrival it's a bit of a walk. However, on the return it is the first rental location as you drive in. Staff were very helpful, friendly and courteous both on collection and at drop off. The car itself (a Renault Clio) had seen a bit of previous wear and tear with numerous scratches to the bodywork and the alloy wheels. These were all checked against the vehicle outline on the rental agreement prior to signing for the car. "

" Please see 3. above. This was like a caricature of everything that has destroyed the reputation of car rental in continental Europe. By aligning yourselves with Maggiore, you endorse and support behaviour that may well cross the line into criminality. I ask that you report what I have said to the responsible authorities and take responsibility of undertaking a forensic audit of the number of times successive customers are charged for the same unrepaired damage to the same vehicle. Leaving the cars unrepaired and the existing damage undocumented is a trap for the unwary client and is the material basis for systematic fraud. I have the full documentation of everything I have described here, including before-and-after photographs and before-and-after documentation of the existing damage. I expect a follow-up and a forensive investigation. "
" 1. The car was covered with scratches on the bodywork and the wheel covers. One of the wheel bosses was missing. Very few of those items were indicated on the damage/condition of car picture provided at the start of the rental. I had to take photos and find the employee in the parking area booth to mark up the page with indications of the scratches. I also took photos at the end of the rental, and a photo of the dashboard display to show the petrol tank was full, as there was no one in the parking area booth. I complained at the desk on return about the inaccurate list documenting the damage and the employee there said that the document showing damage is not always up to date. That is an appalling admission because if the document is not up to date it is literally worse than useless because it would give the company a documentary basis to charge an unwary customer for damage for which s/he was not responsible. Maggiore should be run out of the industry if it does not keep its records of damage up to date, and your company should not be dealing with Maggiore. I would like you to do a forensic audit of how many times customers have been charged for the same damage to the same car. Rental companies make extra profits from imposing false charges on their customers, and a company that does not keep its damage records up to date -- and that does not promptly repair its cars -- is laying down the basis for systematic fraud. 2. When I picked up the car and asked for a map and directions to Camogli, avoiding the collapsed bridge, the employee at the desk did not provide a local map or any relevant directions. 3. The employee at the desk tried to sell me Maggiore's own insurance, even though I had a comprehensive cover through Auto Europe, including the excess reimbursement. I would then have had redundant coverage. This is another way that car rental companies jack up their excessive profits. In short, the behaviour of the rental company, Maggiore, fulfilled all the worst characteristics that one is warned of in the consumer pages of the Sunday papers every week. Based on this performance, Maggiore does not deserve to remain in business. "

" On the website booking the image for the car 'class' was a VW Golf, where as the car we had was Dacia duster, whilst the class was the same I don't feel the specification was. I would have rather have preferred the Vw both in terms of spec. And smaller. I just felt it was a little miss leading to show the image of something that you don't get what you've paid for. " The car we picked up in Genoa had a oil and deisel leak the smell of which was very unpleasant. This became apparent when we reached our destination in Monaco. After communication with the office and I must say the staff were very good. We had to drive back to Italy to swap the car for a replacement. This costed us additional Diesel, road tolls (15 euros) and over half a day out of week long holiday which you cannot put a price on. "

" I was offered 3/8 tank full of Petrol. This was a problem as It was a holiday in Italy & many petrol pumps were closed. The automatic only accept " Banco mat " & not VISA or master card. The tank should be full or instructions in English as to how to use the automatic machines at the Petrol pump. "
