" Desk had no record of my reservation, which had been made on (I think) Friday for Sunday pickup. Under the circumstances they sorted it out efficiently with I guess only a 20 minute delay. The problem lies with Global IT rather than the counter staff themselves, who I'd rate highly. "

" At Budapest Airport the lady of counter staff told me, I have to pay the highest level insurance to be able to take the deposit from my card, because my card is a debit card, not a credit card. I was not happy, but said okay. Then she said this way she can take the deposit from my card, with this extra insurance and I will reveive the deposit after I returned the car with a full tank of fuel... I returned the car in time, with a full tank of fuel, I did not damage the car. But I never received my deposit back!!! I have reported the problem to the company costumer service and they have sent me an invoice in e-mail, where the total money is charged as insurance an d they said I paid no deposit. Non sence, no Car Rental Company lets You pick up a car without deposit. Fraudsters!!! Global and Auto-Europe covers each other @sses... The incident is reported to the Hungarian and UK authorities. "

" The only problem I have is that I can not book a certain type of car. It's always a matter of luck of what sort of car I will get. The companies should be able to get back to me and confirm the type of car I am going to have. For example, I booked a Renault and got a Hyundai (I did not particulary like it). "

" I've booked a white Renault Clio because I've driven it before and was very satisfied with it. The company gave me a black Skoda Fabia instead. I wasn't happy with it. I also had an incident with the key. I've opened the door, put my bags in, put the key in the starting lock and went around the car. When I wanted to get I in the car the center locking system locked me out with the key inside. Global did not inform me about this system and they were only assisting me with a very expensive service to open the door. At the end I've payed a different company to open the door. I was not happy with Golbal's support. "

" Upon arrival, I handed over my voucher which stated I booked at least a 1.4 Skoda Dania or similar car. When I was picking the car up I was told that I can upgrade for 5 euro a day. Bit ad I've already paid for a better car I declined. When I actually picked the car up I was given a 1.2 Renault Clio which is the lowest category. I had issues going over hills I. It as it was flowing down upwards due to the engine size. Hence I prebooked a bigger engine. As I wasn't given the car I paid for please refund me with the difference between the 3 categories. "

I am a journalist, and I can assure you that what happened to me and the actions of the woman at Budapest will be made very public. This company is a JOKE. I shall be seeking reparation for this debacle... "
" I booked a car for three days (on the internet), for collection in Budapest, at what I thought was 12.00 (midday). When I arrived, the female clerk at the airport car hire desk told me I had booked the car for a midnight, and because I hadn't turned up at midnight, she had cancelled the reservation, and furthermore, I would not be given a refund. When I contested this, she showed me a copy of the booking email, which stated 00.00 hour pick-up. The email I received stated it was 12.00. A booking for 00.00 suggests the booking was made using a 24-hour clock. I had definitely booked it for 12.00. It also worth noting here, that the booking reservation they had at the hire desk, used the American dating system with the month preceding the day, so it looked as if I was having the car for three months. My booking was made using the European dating system where the day precedes the month. Obviously a confusion, however what happened next was unbelievable. Rather than acknowledge there was an error, a glitch or a simple confusion, and try and resolve the problem, I was very rudely told, "It's your problem. We have no car for you. Go somewhere else!" After several attempts trying to phone Auto-Europe, we finally managed to hire a car from Budget, some two hours later. For the record, the budget assistant could not believe the behavior of the woman at Auto-Europe, stating her actions as disgraceful. I would NEVER recommend your company to anyone. "

" Fist of all, I am a happy client of you, I reserved my car Budapest Airport on 25th August 2018. However I experienced a problem regarding my past rental at Megadrive in Budapest between 20th July - 5th August 2018. I was told that if the rented car broken down anyway, I have to pay a service engineer cost which is proportional with the distance from Budapest, as minimum around of EUR 80 or much more. To avoid this cost. the clerk offer me an insurance EUR 5/day. I accept it, because I intend to travel fare from Budapest. I regularly rent car across Europe and US regarding my business and leisure trip. However I never met this condition formerly. My new rent will be provided by GLOBAL Budapest. Would you please to inform me in advance that exist or not such condition at GLOBAL ? "

" Our flight was delayed by 1 hour arrived at 9pm were unable to get though on the hire desk number given on the paperwork to advise them. The desk was closed when we got there, we had to wait 2 1/2 hours for someone to return to the desk to give us our car and they then asked us to pay an extra £52 out if hours charge. I rang Auto Europe when first we arrived at the desk and they kept me waiting on the phone for 1 hour, I eventually hung up and rang back to be told the office was now closed. We arrived at the desk at 9pm and eventually got our car at 12 midnight and arrived at our destination at 1.30am tired and £52 our of pocket. Very poor customer service, no apologies from the car rental company and ruined the start of our holiday. "

" We've been using Auto-Europe for a long time, we've never had such a bad experience with any of AE's partners, unfortunately this was not the case this time. The Excess Amount advertised on the voucher was wrong and not respected by the rental company. "
" !!! DO NOT USE GLOBAL!!! The rental went smooth up to the point of the out of hours return, after which my wife received an email advising that they found damage on the vehicle for which they are going to charge us (EUR 985). We frequently rent cars and always check for damages, but we haven't seen anything when we inspected the vehicle upon return. The damage they reported were some scratches under the front bumper and some minor scratches on the mirror, which we found impossible as we only used the car on motorways and roads, with no damage during parking. The quoted prices for the assumed damages were also extortionate. Being regular car rental customers and us being 100% certain that we didn't damage the car, I did a quick search online, that quickly confirmed our doubts: this is a regular and frequent scam from this group of companies, with loads and loads of reviews online (TripAdvisor, TrustPilot, etc.) from people getting scammed for an under bumper scratch damage. As this type of damage would go unnoticed even for the most seasoned car rental regulars as well (I've never known anyone who checks for under bumper damages when taking a rental car), such damage can be claimed over and over again if not added to the check-in report. The Excess Damage of EUR 800 advertised also turned out to be per damage, and not per rental, which is completely opposite to what is advertised on the voucher. I understand that we're in an impossible situation, as without having taken a photo underneath the front bumper before the rental, there is no way to prove that we didn't damage the car, even though we didn't. We have a photo where the mirror scratch is not visible upon return, but it was returned out of hours, so they say it's our responsibility. We've been driving and renting cars for a long time, we also had unfortunate experiences with minor damages on a rental car (e.g. another cars damaging our rental while parking or a stone causing a chip on the windscreen), so we know when the car genuinely gets damaged and we're also aware of the process afterwards. This was not the case this time. Global / Megadrive / Buchbinder seems to have been doing this for a long time according to the above mentioned reviews. They are well protected with paperwork, everything is in the small print. Auto-Europe being a reputable, well-trusted company, such partners damage your reputation by association and is something I believe Auto-Europe should look into – we have always been happy with the companies Auto-Europe brokered us with, so this company does not deserve to be on the list. "

I booked extra insurance form you then the rental company tried to sell additional insurance as well. It turns out that I would need to pay any excess to them then claim it back from your policy, which was not clear. I might as well book directly with the rental company. "
