" I booked with you last year using Alamo and had no problems at all. This year i tried Budget. On attending the desk they tried to give me a Toyota Corolla. I explained i had booked an intermediate SUV. They then gave me a Jeep Grand Cheroke. When i set off i noticed the display was showing the tyre pressures which showed two tyres at 36 and two at 34&32. I thought this was odd to be displayed instead of the speed. The next day the tyre pressures on the ones that were 34&32 were now showing 30 and 28. I inflated the tyres and noticed that the dust caps were already missing off the two lower inflated tyres. This continued for a few days until i could return the car to a branch. I believe the tyre pressures were an issue before i was given the car. The staff at New Orleans airport were rude and abrupt. They gave us a different car, a Mazda CX-9 but this did not have Sat nav. where as the Jeep did. They said this was the only vehicle available. It was very dirty and lots of minor damage. For the last few days of the holiday there appeared to be some electrical issues which included the car kept telling me the ignition was still on, even after i had turned it off, and the trunk would not operate via the buttons and would not lock. We were then 2 hours away from the nearest branch and was wary of the poor attitude of the last desk staff so we made do with the car and got it back on return day. the man in the car park saw the ignition warning light and that the trunk would not operate or lock. He said he would sort out for some money to be refunded but we have not had any. "

" Hi Devin The service that we have received from all the Alamo staff has been excellent. However When we arrived at Houston in the evening we were disappointed that we did not have a choice of vehicle and you only had one luxury car available. We stayed in the Houston area for 4 days only covering bout 50 miles. We then set off on our trip towards Miami, within a couple of hours a service light reminder came on the dashboard. When we arrived at Lafayette we rang Alamo who suggested that we exchange the vehicle at Baton Rouge airport. Unfortunately they did not have any luxury vehicles available but the service light concerned us every time we started the car. We accepted a lesser quality car as an interim car this being an Infinity Q50 which had a horrible ride which made my wife feel ill. We called in it the next airport on our route which was Mobile, they had nothing better so were advised to carry on to the next large Airport which was Panama City where we met your representative Joshua.hale@ehi.com who was sympathetic to our situation but again he did not have a luxury vehicle to exchange but did offer us a Cadillac XT4 which we accepted and was fine but not the quality we originally hired, he also gave us his email and asked us to contact him with any other issues. From leaving Panama City on our way the oil warning light came on so we contacted Joshua who gave us some options. We chose to exchange the vehicle at Tallahasse Airport who again had no luxury cars but as we still had a long way to go we were not happy with a warning light being on. We exchanged for a Dodge Ram Truck which unfortunately again made way wife feel a little ill due to the rolling. We finally arrived at our destination Airport, Orlando with still 2 weeks to go. They had a choice of only 2 luxury cars both of which were covered in scratches. We accepted a Lincoln MKZ. We therefore ended up with 4 unplanned visits to your car rental locations to secure a luxury car causing us long route delays and inconvenience filling up the cars with fuel at each location and being without a luxury car for a significant part of our journey I can not fault any of your representatives especially Joshua at Panama City, but in the first instance we should not have been rented a car with an imminent service required for a 6 week long distance hire We have been using Alamo as our first choice of car rental since visiting the USA since 1978. This vacation has been a bit of a nightmare with the quality and lack of availability of your vehicles. The only saving grace for your company is the staff we have dealt with. " On arrival after an 11 hour flight from the uk , arrived at the thrifty counter to be informed that the car we had booked was not available but they could offer us a mini bus type van!! We booked a Chevrolet Tahoe specifically as there were 4 adults travelling with 6 suitcases and we were intending on doing a lot of travelling so wanted some comfort !! When we returned and sought out the rep we we then taken to a Chevrolet Tahoe ??? So after 3 hours wait we eventually got the vehicle we originally booked but there was no gps which we had booked and paid for ... we eventually got a gps device from another company ( hertz) . We left the airport over 4 hours later very dissapointed with the overall check out process and very unprofessional , aggressive nature of the thrifty staff. "

I had rented a car through auto-Europe and had selected one that provided full insurance cover and excess waivers etc. At the counter the sales person still tried to convince me to by either a corporate or normal insurance package. I travel to the states a lot and understand that this isn't required. However I can imagine that anyone new wouldn't understand the difference and then pay extra for this unnecessary cover. 2. The queue was very very long. There were many people in line that hadn't pre-booked a car. There should be some sort of fast track option to those who have pre-booked. 3. The salesman told me to go to bay A8 to collect my car. It took around 10 minutes of walking to get there and when I did the bay was empty! I had to go back to the counter with all my suitcases and get another car. "

" was kept waiting aprox 40 minuites when iwas finally seen the guy at reception was very rude on my voucher it states that iwas fully covered forbreakdown cover he said that iwas not covered and tryed to sell me thier breakdown cover which i refused to sign he told me if ibrokedown that i would be charged by dollar. ireplied to this by saying on my voucher iwas covered for everything his reply was it was not onhis paperwork so iasked himto look at myvoucher he refused to look and told me if anything happened i would be charged irefused to sign for the breakdown cover .then he produced another bill for fuel onmy agreement it clearly stated full to full he again said that myvoucher did not matter andthat iwould have to pay for the gas and bring back empty. by this time i was getting very stressed as we had been kept waiting for so long we had our mother with us who is 91 so ijust agreed to pay for gas upfront so i signed for the gas. then he said iwas good to go ireplied that i had payed for gps he then again replyed that i hadnot payed for gps then he looked again and replyied i dont think we have any just hang on miniute then he spoke to one of his collegeges and herd him say that the gps was not charged then he went off again when he came back he gave me a gps and directed us towher to pick up our car we got to pick up area and was again to stand to one side the car would be here shortly we then was kept waiting a further 50 miniutes then when we finaly got in the car the stand for gps was missing so my wife had to run back up to the dollar desk they gave her thestand then finaly got on our way appox 2 hours from ariving at the dollar reception to actually driving the car. this is after a10 hour flight. this was not the end of our ordeal half way to our destination the gps run out of charge the charger did not work so we luckily got directions to our destination. i tryed to charge the gps in the mains but it still would not charge so we had to manage on our own. since comming home i have got unknown charges from dollar on my credt card . whitch auto europe are investigating .our experience with dollar was a nightmare... "

" The car was not waiting for me when I arrived - I had to wait approx. 15 - 20 minutes despite them having my arrival time and flight details in advance. When the car arrived it had not been cleaned inside or out and I found various drinks containers and remains of food inside the car. I was expecting to pay for an additional driver but that was $11 not £10 a day, and then we were charged 10% as a Commission fee for selling us these (Before taxes). The extras came to more than the car hire! I would be very careful in future on this items. They did not inspect the car for damage before it left only on return and I would not purchase a tank of fuel in future "
