When I returned the vehicle the customer service personnel insisted of a scratch in the car that was not in the vehicle back bumper at check-in. Upon my arrival back to UK I received notification that the deposit on my credit card will be held until they determine the repair cost. "

Main issue was with the vehicle provided - although in adequate condition and correct vehicle type (small van with windows, eg Renault Kango), our vehicle rear seats did not tumble completely forward as the rear base was fixed and the rear seat not split. This caused difficulty loading our bikes, the 4 previous vans of different types (including another Express) have allowed a split rear and completely flat floor. This was clearly a more basic spec and much less flexible for luggage and passengers. Hertz should review their fleet as if we'd had another passenger this vehicle would not have been accepted. "

" In general when I search in autoeurope the choice has reduced considerably compared to previous years, and it seems that the zero-excess option is no longer offered. The one-thing that distinguished autoeurope in the past compared to the competition was the zero-excess offer. This is what brings me to autoeurope, I pay one amount with one-place and I know I am fully-insured and I do not have to quibble at check-in desk any longer. Now that this offer no longer is there, autoeurope has become like any other website, and often times I find cheaper prices elsewhere (either with the airline I got the tickets with). Please review your Value Proposition as I feel you will only be losing your market share rapidly if this does not change. "
" I paid considerably more for a Citroen C4X car because the roads in Morocco require a high car. When I arrived, I was allocated a normal low sedan (Skoda octavia). I showed the type of car reserved, but they were unable to help me and the reason given was that the remaining car fleet was limited to reservations only. I was offered a lower type of car without any adjustment in reservation or cost, which I had to accept since I could only drive a high car. Also, to add to my disappointment, the cost of insurance to have zero excess was applied to the reservation with a higher type of car than the one I was going to have to insure. and when I ask the answer is not persuasive, it is just "this is what the system allows me to do, I am only an employee here and I cannot speak to anyone at this time". In terms of cost, I ended up paying double to rent a lower type of vehicle (Kia Stelios). The car given to me is no longer in rental condition, with almost 100,000 kms on the odometer, it must be removed from the fleet. The engine was worn, the interior dirty, lots of salt/beach stains all over the cushions, the smell of cigarettes. I was disappointed, while clearly I could see 2 KIA Sportage parked and newer, but they only gave me this KIA Stelios choice. Even if people are nice and pretend to try and help, the service in itself is mediocre. you can see that from the moment the customer is not satisfied, they don't really know how to deal with the problem and certainly no willingness to solve it. The service is mediocre, the car worn, dirty with cushions moved after such usage, and the price was very high. The return of the car, I would have liked to be present until the end of the procedure and the closing of the contract with a clear and explicit receipt. Instead, they received the key and asked me to leave and that the rest will follow by email, so I had no control over this procedure, which does not seem fair to the customer. Given this experience, I will not be looking to make a reservation in the Hertz franchise in Morocco, unless I am shown that the repair of this incident is important for Hertz Morocco and that I am shown the intention to repair it with a discount on the additional cost that I suffered in this rental to return to a state of balance with the customer. As it stands today, I feel wronged: I paid for a type of car that was not available, and I received a car of an inferior type, and I paid the zero excess insurance on the value of the car of the superior type that I did not have. "

After waiting for more than an hour and being very persistent we got an old Dacia from 2005 instead. Very run down, but at least the AC worked. I have rented cars all over the world and I have never been told that I will be charged for vacuuming the driverside mat which has dust on it. " Driving out of the town quarzazate, to head back to the Marrakesh airport we were stopped by the road side police checkpoint. The car hire paper he said to be not in order and the car was being impounded. As we scrambled for answers we called the helpline number. The police officer took the phone and spoke with the helpline assistant, before handing the phone back to me. The helpline assistant said he was going to forward the required papers over 'Whatsapp' . The paper never arrived to my phone and as we called the helpline back the calls were not answered. The police officer got more irritated and time passes. It was only when the British helpline staff answered my call (on loud speaker) did the police change give way and demanded 200 MAD to let us go on our way. I think a note should be added to the 'helpline pack' explaining what to do if it happens again or a note added to the local website explaining what to do if this happens again. On pick up there were no issues with any paperwork and the car I collected was similar to what I had ordered. Some other people we were with had hired cars from other companies and did have a few issues so I was happy with service auto Europe had provided. "
" There is a lot of negative reviews of hiring a car in Morocco. As long as you completely check the car and take your time you shouldn't have any issues. When collected the car my advice is to do the following. Check every panel for dints, scratches and scrapes including the alloy wheels, tyres, make sure all the lights and inductors work and there is water for the windscreen( you need it). Check the inside for any issues. Do a video with your smart phone of the cars condition before you leave. Whenever you are checking the car with the attendant make sure any damage is it put on the paperwork. At the end of checking the vehicle I did take the damage report from the attendant and went over it myself to make sure he had marked every bit each damage on the paperwork. There was a lot of it as with almost every other car in Morocco. You will realise why when you get on the road. Before I left the staff told me there was a 250 dihram charge for cleaning if the car was returned dirty. I don't speak French so I don't know if this was on the contract documents or not.the fine print you sign is in French. We got the car cleaned for 30 dihrams before drop off and all was good on drop off. When dropping off the person checked the car for damage and told me everything was ok, he didn't tick the "no damage"box on the paperwork. Make sure this is done before you leave. I had to do it for him. My deposit was then credited within 24 hours back to my credit card which I thought was very efficient. Sometimes it would take longer To get my deposit back when I have hired cars in the UK. My experience with thrifty was good and I definitely would hire a vehicle with them again if I am back in Morocco. "

I had to take the car to garage the day after I collected the car to fix the front left. When I went to them to sort the other tyre they just gave me excuses to delay for them to sort it out, thank god nothing happened to my family in that car. " It took two hours wait at the counter to acquire the car. The car had multiple marks, scratches and dents, many of them not mentioned on the paperwork provided. The car was dirty and smelly. While travelling I discovered the AC wasn't working. I continue to contact Thrifty Office and only got through to them on Monday. They advised me to call another number to reach their regional manager but I didn't get through to them. I left messages but no one called me back. After wasting two days; ie Monday and Tuesday I was finally able to reach the Thrifty office and was advised to bring in the vehicle for inspection. On inspection, it was found to the faulty. As it was being replaced, the person checking the defective vehicle found some scratches on the vehicle, which had not been mentioned on the paperwork. I advised them I didn't cause any damage but it was blamed on me. An alternative vehicle was provided after wasting four hours and thus the whole day. So with issues with the vehicle three days of my holidays were lost. I then wrote to the customer services manager who acknowledged my email and promised to address the matters before my departure but I have not heard from them as yet. During this period I also called your customer services and after putting me on hold for many minutes, costing significant monies, they absolved themselves of the responsibility. "

The car was decent and enjoyed driving it throughout.. unfortunately, I was hit by a car in the last few days of my holidays; it was through no fault of mine.. The third party admitted liability and we both filled up and signed the necessary paper, as instructed by agents from both parties. On my return, I was shocked to be told that I would be charged a fee of 50 Euros, even though I wasn't to blame for the accident .. I commented that the third party insurance should be expected to cover that cost, but the agent said there was nothing she could do to help.. Now, I have just discovered that the car company not only deducted just the 50 Euros, as was told, but they deducted the whole deposit (£1221.27), which would ultimately result to more expenses in regards to the interest that I would be charged, paying back!!! " It was the worst experience we have had hiring a car and then to be pointed out that we had to pay and additional 250 Dirham to have the car hovered on returning the car was extremely disappointing (as there was hand written small print pointing this out) was appalling. We made every effort to keep our car clean and tidy, but due to the sandy nature of Morocco, it was inevitable that the inside of the car would hold additional sand/dust, particularly with 4 of us driving around for 6 days. Ideally we would like to be reimbursed with this 250 Dirham as it was not part of the official document, only hand written on the form and due to the incredibly long wait we experienced. "

It took a ridiculously long time and when we got out to the car park our car wasn't there and the people in front of us were then sitting on the pavement waiting for their cars too. No one we spoke to in front of us or behind us were happy at all with the service. "

" It's taken me a long time to think about this review. Our experience has put us off Morocco generally, which is a shame. This Rental Supplier (LocationAuto) is not trustworthy. There's no desk at the airport, they just operate out of the carpark and are difficult to locate. No uniformed staff and the individuals handing out the cars look very 'dodgy'. When we returned the vehicle, they did not want us to photograph the car to prove the condition and the member of staff attempted to steel our phone. My wife was pushed around as she called for help. If it hadn't been for the help of a local, I don't know what would have happened. I eventually got my phone back, although a bit scratched. The police were then involved and after about 2 hours, it was resolved, but I would caution anyone about using Location Auto in Marrakech. "

" LocationAuto doesn't have an office at the airport so it took few very international phone calls to have somebody arrive to meet us. They arrived 30min late -without our car. We had to wait another 30min to get our car. It arrived totally dirty, with number of half empty bottles, full ashtray, dirty windows - it was impossible to see if the car has any scratches etc. Despite renting full-to-full tank, the car arrived only with 2 bars on the fuel scale. It had an electric warning light on through the rental. It was a good value rental but overall the price of the calls and the discomfort wasn't value for money. Going for Avis next time "

" Counter staff had communication problem in spite of me being an Arabic speaker it seems he could not understand standard Arabic or English. The forecourt staff made up for that by being very helpful, friendly and professional. Car was to good standard even though it was not as advertised. I booked a small SUV and ended up with a saloon. "

" If you re travelling to Marrakech & want to hire a car, avoid Hertz!! on arrival, we had to search for the office!! Meet and greet? A jock! No one was waiting to greet or show us the car. As for the paperwork!!its laughable!! it took for ever then the shock of the extra insurance excess!! Might as well buy the car and sell it at the end of our holiday! By the time the paperwork was done and cleared my bank account (excess deposit), I was told to find the car in the car park (spot Hertz car game that was!!) tired from our flight, 40 minutes waiting to sort out extra insurance and paperwork, then we headed to find a bashed up old Renault parked somewhere in the middle of 900 or so other cars!! Hertz could of had a rep waiting for us?? NO! "
" Not a care in the world, find your own car in the middle of the airport car park amongst 900 other cars late at night, when all you want to do is get in the car and go to your hotel, No meet and greet as described in my contract. Paperwork taken for ever, long queues at the desk, I can go on...Never again will I book with Hertz, and I travel extensively too . Will NOT recommend hertz to any one. "
" I hire cars in Europe, Morocco and USA several times per year. I always use Auto-Europe to book them. I find them competitive and efficient but best of all available and courteous as well as helpful. Their freefone number is always answered speedily and without the usual "press this, press that rigmarole, "
" The Hertz desk was not manned at the time of our arrival; we had to wait for the man. Once there the car collection went well and the car was as ordered. It had a number of dents and dings but the Hertz attendant was diligent in recording these. The bad news was upon return of the car. The car was handed back as delivered to us except for the dust and grit of 10 days driving in Morocco where the country roads are often only one car width tarmac. This necessitates driving with two wheels in the dust of the verge in order to pass oncoming vehicles. Imagine our surprise therefore when the Hertz attendant insisted we pay 100 Dirhams for valeting!!! If this is Hertz policy I'll not book a car with them again. Cleaning the car is their duty. "
