" Auto Europe as always were very efficient. They cancelled an earlier booking after I had decided to rent an upgraded vehicle without any problems. The only thing I would say is that it should be possible to cancel a reservation online but this feature does not appear to work. "

" We arrived early to collect the car and this was not a problem. However, by the time all the paperwork was completed and the car inspected we did take the car at the time arranged. The lady I dealt with behind the counter was very helpful however, the same can't be said for her colleague who she had to refer to when I queried a couple of things. I was charged more than I was quoted by Auto Europe for the one way drop off fee and the GPS. When I questioned this I was simply told by the colleague to take it up with the company I had booked through. She implied I may have been quoted the old fees. It was clear it was not up for discussion. I do not find this satisfactory but what could I do when confronted with this at the time of collecting my car? I also queried another payment on the receipt and the collague said 'she doesn't have to worry about that'. The colleague didn't bother looking at me or address me with her answer nor explain it. I have therefore marked down the counter staff. The GPS I was given did not work properly so the very helpful man who inspected the car changed it. Unfortuantely this too did not end up working properly during our trip. I hired a GPS to ensure we had directions off line. This was essential for our safety to ensure we knew where we were going and how long it would take. We had to plan our trip due to the distances between destinations and the conditions of the roads in Namibia. Fortunately, my phone worked and I had pre planned and printed off paper copies of directions to all of our destinations as a backup. However, I should not have had to use them with a GPS. It was a complete waste of money. Therefore, I have marked the overall value down. The gentleman who inspected the car was very helpful and thorough. he showed us where to place the jack on the specific model of car should we experience a puncture. He talked through and demonstrated the 4x4 option available on the car, assisted with the GPS and answered any questions we had. As for the car itself, I have no complaints. Whilst it was different to the car we ordered it was still a 4x4 and probably better. It was a pleasure to drive. As for the drop off. We arrived early which pleased the man taking receipt of the car as it was being hired out that day to someone else. The process was quick and easy and like with most car hire companies only a verbale confirmation that everything was fine. "

" It wasn't made clear that I would have to claim against the insurance company and not Hertz. I feel I was misold this policy "
" After picking up the car we were stopped by the Namibian Police, as the licence disk on the car was illegal. We had to wait over 2 hours for a replacement car, which we had to accept in the dark on the side of the road. We returned the car, where they spotted a loose wing mirror fitting. We had not noticed this when we rented the car (as it was dark) and had had no 'bump' that would cause this. The guy at the desk said that this was Ok and we wouldn't be charged, however my credit card has been charged 348.08 with no documnetation "
