The email sent to me on 04 February 2023 (Reservation Number: 9927940592), stated a vehicle return time of 11am, Feb 6. As we were not sure of the exact time we collected the vehicle, we assumed that the time in the email was correct and we endeavoured to return the vehicle by 12pm, 6 Feb. The vehicle was returned safely around 11:30 am 6 Feb, at the designated parking lot and we walked to the office to return the keys. I was surprised to find that we were charged an extra day although we followed the instructions of the counter staff when we collected the vehicle. This has left a very unpleasant impression on an otherwise enjoyable experience. I trust that you will review the emails sent to me and the comments and kindly waive the extra day charges. As I mentioned above, we were adhering diligently to the return time stated in the email (11am Feb 6) and the one hour waiver highlighted to us by your efficient counter staff, Ken. Regards. "

The car locked itself and I had to phone the Emergency Roadside assistance desk so they could remotely unlock the vehicle. They advised taking the car back to the rental facility as the same problem may happen again. This I did and opted for a SUV which was supposed to have GPS but in reality did not so back to the customer assistance booth for yet another change of vehicle of the same group as originally booked without GPS. " Very poor communication before, during and after. I wanted to take the car to Canada and add my son as extra driver for a few days. This was possible according to emails before we went. We then found out it was possible only if we returned to the US, and in any case it WASN'T possible. Car was faulty and we were promised half a tank of petrol as compensation for having to return to the airport. We got charged for a full tank, PLUS a lot of the charges we had already paid when booked were double charged. I am querying it with them. "

" We hired a car via Europcar who subsequently subcontracted to EZ Rental Cars in Seattle Airport. The price of the car was a lot cheaper than other rental companies. When we picked up the car we took photos of all the dints, scrapes etc and informed the company of them. However we failed to notice that the front tyres were worn down to the tread depth marker until a week after picking up the car. We took the car to a garage and they informed us that the tread was low and the tyres should be changed. We rang EZ Rentals who initially said any problems with tyres was up to us. Our response was that they had given us a car with worn tyres. They then said we could change the tyres ourselves and then talk to the manager to try to get reimbursement back from the company on our return but they stressed there was no guarantee that this would happen. We were not happy with this and we asked to speak to a manager. We were transferred to David Gundell's voice mail and left a message for him to contact us. We tried twice again leaving messages and he still did not get back to us. We also asked Auto Europe to help us but they refused to help. As a result we were left with a car with worn tyres to travel 2800 miles on potentially dangerous tyres. We feel extremely let down by Europcar, EZ Car Rentals and Auto Europe. I can assure you that we won't be using any of these companies in the future again no matter what the cost savings are. You cannot put a price on your safety and the stress that this has incurred. "

I was 35 mins early for the booking and was told quite rudely that it was an extra $84 to take the car then. I accepted I was early and sat and waited. When I represented myself at the counter she was busy looking at her mobile phone and made no eye contact. She repeated I was early (now 2 mins before collection) time), so we waited 2 mins. She continued to look down and uninterested throughout the admin process, stopping at one point to rearrange her hair. When completed she explained I needed to collect the car 2 floors down from the desk (in a large multi-storey complex containing many car hire companies) . When I asked her where the collection point was on the floor she rolled her eyes and said aggressively: 'I said it's 2 floors down.' I was her only customer in that 45 period I was there waiting, so I can't see why she would be stressed. "

" A few days prior to picking up the vehicle in Seattle we received notification that our flight time had changed. When we emailed Auto Europe to notify of the changed pick up time we received an auto response with a contact number. While at San Francisco airport our flight was delayed a further 2 hours. When we called the number in the email to pass the later pick up time there was an answerphone message saying the office was closed. Surely Auto Europe know that their customers are all over the world and should provide a 24 hour point of contact. "

" Terrible check-in experience. lady was unhelpful and just trying the hard upsell on car, insurance, satnav etc. Would not allow us the ford Edge model we had requested even though 3 of them in garage next to the hyundai (i think) we were offered. She said they are allocated to other people not us. After a bit of aggression and anger I gave up, but approached the staff in the garage. After over an hour of nonsense we were eventually allowed to drive out in a ford edge. Further, we think the tyre may have already had a nail in the tyre as the air pressure indicator came on shortly after taking the car. A Nissan Versa is a sub compact according to Nissan and other car companies but Thrifty said it was a compact. This was the biggest car available from a small choice of 4 so was stuck with it.
