My wife is 5Ft tall and had to sit on 2coats folded up to see out which is not ideal when your in Ireland doing the scenic tours . Plus the sat nav takes you off the main road and takes you up farm tracks with grass in the middle of the road and then puts you back on the same main road you were on a mile or two later . "

It was only because we spotted and reported damage that we didn't have to pay for it. I felt this was deliberately dishonest. "

" The vehicle was clean, high mileage VW Passat, the rental price was good. It had a full tank and it was fine to drive. F/O/S tyre was in need of replacement and was probably illegal, I didn't notice this on pick up as I spent ages photographing bodywork damage and emailing the photos. I did later photograph the tyre and the "replace tire" warning is clearly visible. The wiper blades were in poor condition and smeared the screen rather than wiping it. On return I reported my concerns regarding the tyre and the wipers and the staff assured me that it would be dealt with before the vehicle was reused. I hope this feedback is some value to you. "

" The first car I was given was in terrible condition. Dirty and stained interior and countless scratches and other marks to the exterior. Luckily they were able to offer me a cleaner car. This car did have some damage and the LCD screen flickered constantly for the duration of the rental. The 'lane assist' had a mind of its own and was at times dangerous. I overheard another client complaining about the condition of their rental car to which the counter staff replied 'all our vehicles have some damage'. I had a similar situation last time I rented with Sixt at Nice airport. "

I complained to them at this collection depot. When I returned last Sunday at 17.05 to this return depot (off site from the airport) the gate was closed. A sign advised me to return the car to the airport terminal car park. I had no prior notice of the off site depot closing at 17.00. "

" Could not see a SIXT counter in Terminal 1. All other car hire counters said go to Terminal 2, so off we went - by foot lugging our luggage with us (not explained when booked). Eventually got to counter in Teeminal 2 (no directions). 2 people working and a queue. After about 30 mins I got to the front of the queue only for the now available employee to walk off, leaving me to wait yet longer for the only remaining employee to deal with me. This was then done relatively quickly, however only after I'd agreed to fork out another 93 euros for full insurance so that I wouldn't have to provide a 1500 euro deposit!!! This was also not explained when I booked and is totally not on. Once the paperwork had been done we then had to wait a further 15 minutes for the car to arrive. Having arrived at the counter just after 7pm, it was 8.20pm before we left . This is totally unacceptable. The car itself was great and we really enjoyed driving it for the 3 days we had it on hire. The experience of checking it out was very good, however why oh why is there no fuel station close by to fill up or even signs close to the drop off point telling people where they can fill up. Dreadful. "

" Most of the hire went very well. Just one problem: the drop-off was at an off-airport location, and this could have been made much more prominent on the documentation. Having dropped off at Shannon Airport before, I was surprised to find no Sixt presence at the terminal, and only then did I notice that an alternative location was specified deep in the T&Cs. In fact this location is incorrect (out-of-date) and fortunately a phone call to Sixt HQ re-directed me to the current drop-off location. The Sixt staff member at drop-off, who was very helpful, told me that he had texted me that morning with the correct location, but he had the wrong telephone number for me (How?). Just made the flight with hardly any time to spare, so a rather fraught end to an otherwise satisfactory rental. "

" Website very misleading. We wanted a carseat for our child. The autoeurope website made it seem as if we were reserving and paying for the carseat in the price paid. The price actually increased as we clicked on the child seat option. It turns out we had done neither. SIXT were unaware of the request (although fortunately they had one available) and we had to pay their extortionate daily rate for hiring one, almost doubling the cost of the rental. I would have made alternative arrangements to avoid this, and indeed thought I had. It's not clear to me what the extra charge from autoeurope for reserving the carseat was actually for. This practice is at best misleading and left us extremely disappointed with the service from autoeurope. "

" When first booking on line I was unable to select 8pm collection. The closest was 2pm. When I arrived around 8pm I was informed I was late and the car was gone. I had already paid £850 and was given a car of a lower standard. A week later the full beam started to come on randomly. This is obviously very dangerous so I returned the car. This was 140 mile round trip to my cost and inconvenience. On the replacement vehicle an engine warning light was permently on and the battery for the remote needed changing. The whole experience was poor. A refund of some kind should have been offered but sadly was not. I would appreciate some form of compensation as the service has been subpar to say the least. "

This is the second time this year I've used Sixt and both have experiences have been poor, quality of cars has been poor and level of service doesn't match their brand/advertising. I still rate AutoEurope but will go back to using Enterprise in Dublin, much friendlier and willing to help. "

" Sixt keen to upgrade car on the pretence that as a customer had been waiting at hire desk, however whilst that was good for them, was the upgraded car good for me? i had ordered a Renault Megane sportwagon, diesel which should have been very economical, ended up with a kia Sportage which was totally over sized. Personally think the upgrade was subterfuge, covering as no sport wagon available. Also, everything was in Dutch- even in Ireland the language is English. "

" Far more damage to the car than noted on the hire sheet, which meant a whole lot of photos. Refused to exchange car but advised to send photos to their website which we did taking about an hour to do. The outside was scratched all over with many small dents and damaged body, mirror, bumpers, and scratches around the boot. Interior was dirty, hadn't been vacuumed, seats were grubby, stained and dirty and the front panel was scratched all over presenting a poor image. After we had driven away we realised the front foot well carpet was soaking wet, and later found the rear carpet was also wet because it damaged our maps. The car mechanically and its drivability was very good. By buying the fuel up front ie. full to empty you save 35% on fuel costs as long as you use it, thats good but they could still refund what was left. We have to ask if we were given a second class car because we booked through 'Auto europe' however we have had many positive bookings with other companies previously with 'Auto europe'. "

The booking had been made by my wife with her credit card.She was present with me but her credit card was not acceptable. " Not really a problem with SIXT in particular, more a general complaint about CDW. The collision damage waiver for 5 days hire was around Euro150, otherwise there is an excess of Euro1400. We have taken out separate CDW for 1 year for £49.99. However, without SIXTs CDW, the car is carefully inspected on its return and a tiny indentation in the door was found. I photographed scratches on the car when I picked it up and inspected it before the return. I did not spot the indent on either occasion (it is barely visible on the photos I took of it). I am waiting to hear if SIXT will follow this up but, either way, the delay, extra paperwork and stress makes me think that I will drive my own car in Ireland rather than hire in the future. "
