    Discover the Islands of Malta

Whilst looking for a holiday destination that little bit different to those we usually choose I came across Malta. I am rather ashamed to admit that I actually thought that Malta was just the one island, when actually there are three islands: Malta, Gozo and Comino. Whilst I was doing some research on the ever informative World Wide Web (I can't image life without it), I found that all three of the islands have a number of great places that I would love to visit.

The main island of Malta is probably the most visited by tourists. The town of Rabat is a great place to learn about the history of Malta and its culture. It is located in west Malta and has a large number of archaeological and historic sites. A great idea is to drive your Malta car hire to the coastline and discover those stunning secluded coves. Paradise Bay in Cirkewwa is a beautiful natural cove that is said to be great for snorkelling! If you are flying into Malta then Luqa is where the main airport is located and so, not to waste any time you are best to collect your hire car at Luqa airport.

Comino is located between Malta and Gozo. The island is a car-free place so you will have to take a ferry across, but it is well worth the trip! On the island you can truly appreciate the beauty of nature by simply enjoying the amazing scenery and taking in the magnificent scent of the herbs that grow around the island. The island is a quiet place with only one hotel, due to the lack of inhabitants the island has many birds and other wildlife that frequently visit.

Hire a car on Gozo and journey to picturesque harbours and traditional towns. In Gozo you have The Ggantija Temple, which is the oldest standing structure in the world! Journey along the fabulous Gozo coastline and you will find fantastic rock formations. One of the most famous is the Azure Window; on appearance it looks like a huge stone table placed in the sea waters.

After reading up on Malta it is clear that if you holiday here you can either relax on sandy beaches or visit historic attractions. My conclusion, what a great place, let's get a holiday booked!Have you been to any of the Maltese Islands? Can you suggest any places we can visit?
