    F1 - Race 11 - Germany

F1 flagRace 11 of the 2010 Grand Prix season took place in Germany yesterday, and is probably the most controversial to date! Sebastian Vettel manged to gain yet another pole position for Red Bull, which makes it 10 out of the 11 so far this season, at the Hockenheim circuit. Unfortunately for him though, as he tried to stop Fernando Alonso getting past him on the first lap, he allowed Felipe Massa past! There was a yellow flag briefly on lap 1 also, when Sebastien Buemi's rear wing flew off!

Massa continued to lead the field ahead of his team mate Alonso. By lap 17 Alonso was demonstrating his lack of patience, again, demanding that his team tell Massa to let him past! His frustration grew worse and by lap 21 he was positively seething!!

The rest of the race was mostly about the battle between the two Ferrari drivers. Massa set some wonderful times which clearly just served to upset Alonso even more. In lap 30 he was 3.2 seconds ahead. So when on lap 47 the team engineer said to Massa that Alonso was faster it could only mean one thing. Despite being the better driver Massa had to let Alonso past. Maybe he let him past so he didn't nudge him again like he did at Silverstone........ Massa also had to deal with the fact that it was the anniversary of his near fatal crash last year in Hungary. Alonso went on to win the race, but it was a hollow victory and (in my opinion) undeserved.

Ferrari were fined a mere $100,000 for the transgression and the incident is being referred to the FIA. 'We tried to do our race, we tried to do as good as we can,' said Alonso. 'We are professional drivers and we try to work as a team and we try to do the best we can every day.' Not sure that is how Felipe Massa sees the situation.

Next race is in Hungary next weekend. Can the Red Bull's make it 11 out of 12 on pole? Will Lewis Hamilton and Jensen Button finish in the top 4?
