F1 - Race 9 - Valencia

Lots of drama in the 9th race of the season. Red Bull managed to get first and second on the starting grid again this time, so expectations where high. Mark Webber didn't have the greatest of starts, falling back to 4th then 8th within the first lap! Lewis Hamilton has a knock with Kamui Kobayashi in lap 3 resulting in pieces falling of Hamilton's wing. Webber's race didn't get any better when he made a pit stop on lap 7 and the team had trouble replacing his front left tyre. But it was only to get worse for the Australian when 2 laps later he was probably wishing his Red Bull really could have given him wings when he caught the rear tyre of Heikki Kovalainen. He flew up into the air landing upside down before bouncing back the right way up and spinning into the wall of tyres. Luckily he was unharmed! After the incident with Webber the safety car was out, so several drivers used the opportunity for a pit stop. The safety car came in at the end of lap 14. Hamilton got a drive though penalty for overtaking the safety car as it came out of the pit lane. This was imposed in lap 24. Lap 27 and another incident when a glass bottle was discovered on the track. By lap 44 it was announced that several drivers were under investigation for driving too fast when the safety car was out. Kamui Kobayashi managed to stay out until lap 53 before making his first pit stop but still managed to finish 7th. Once again Vettel wins and was not the only German to beat the English competition that day! A big disappointment for Mark Webber and Red Bull, but as the mid season race at Silverstone approaches it is still anyone's season!
