Spain's best beaches to cool off this summer

Here in the UK we have been treated to a few days of summer; but for how long it will last is anyone's guess!

If you are looking for guaranteed sunshine weather, then you will have to hop on a plane and head for the sunny skies of Spain. Along its beautiful coastline there are a wealth of fantastic beaches that are perfect for tanning yourself, having fun on the sands or cooling off in the refreshing Mediterranean waters.

Pick up a hire car at Malaga Airport and head to the one of the fabulous city beaches.

Playa Palo beach is located next to the marina and is a great spot for those who love their water sports, although it can get rather busy in the main summer months.

If your idea of heaven is a quiet little beach that is tucked away in a corner, away from the hustle and bustle of it all, then you should head for the shores of Almeria. Cabo de Gata is a huge nature reserve and has plenty of secluded beaches.

There is one very famous beach here: the Playa del Monsul was used to film scenes for an Indian Jones movie.Let's not forget Spain's northern coastline; the waters may be a little cooler than those along the Costa del Sol coast, however the beaches can be simply breath-taking.

Playa de Sablon is located a short distance from the historic town of Llanes. It is well known for being a family friendly beach and it has some great restaurants where you can enjoy a traditional Spanish meal. Whether you visit the north or the south, if its fine sands and clean waters you are searching for, Spain will not disappoint!
