We are trying to make your car hire life easier and present you with some useful tips for wise vehicle rental. What we mention below are some universal pieces of advice that you could consider while hiring a car in the
USA or
Spain.
Deposit
A security deposit is blocked at a pick up time on the main driver's credit card. Make sure the main driver has one! Please check your deposit amount before you leave. If your credit card limit is lower than the deposit, you may not receive the vehicle or will have to purchase an extra insurance. The deposit amount usually equals excess+fuel+vat. You may always call us to verify the amount that is going to be blocked on your credit card or contact the rental desk for exact details.
Damage
Irrespective of the insurance policy you choose, check your vehicle at pick up for any existing damages and mark it on your check out report - even the minor ones!
Fuel
Verify the fuel amount in the tank. If the tank is not full, please mention it to the car hire representative and note it on your check out report as well.
Receipts
Make sure to keep your fuel or car wash receipts in case of any after rental disputes with the supplier.
Unpaved roads
Avoid unpaved roads. If you damage the car while driving off the road, the insurance will not cover the repair costs.
Parking
Pay attention to parking fees. If you don't buy a parking ticket, the rental company will charge you for the parking and apply an additional administration fee.
Speeding
Try driving within the speed limit. You may not notice when a traffic camera takes a photo of you. After your arrival home, you will be issued with an invoice from the rental company for the speeding ticket and the administration fee.
Missing personal belongings
If you notice that you are missing some of your personal belongings, call the rental desk as soon as possible. The sooner, the better!
Road assistance
Towing fees are not included in your rental rate. It is advisable to obtain a road assistance that covers travels abroad in order to avoid extra towing charges. Please remember: any time you need our assistance, just give us a call!
