Car was collected from car park which is fairly dark even on a summer's day making it not ideal to check Car over. Mitsubishi Cross Star looked old. 57000 km on clock. Rear screen washer did not function. Front passenger side the wiper was broken ( the rubber blade was split and hanging off. Car obviously not checked before being handed over. Engine ok. Already had contact from Alamo who are making a part refund. "

" The car was perfect and the counter staff were friendly, but I was misinformed about the refuelling charge, normally I would have just brought the car back full, but I was offered for a prepayment to be taken at a fixed price per litre, which I thought would be used to top up the tank if I returned the car empty or partially filled, then any remaining money would be refunded, I was also told the price per litre was cheaper than forecourt prices, which it turned out wasn't the case, so I filled the tank on return and expected the prepayment charge to be refunded to my card, I have since noticed this not to be the case, I made a point of asking the counter staff if that I would only be charged for the missing fuel which they agreed to, I believe I have been misled and have paid £86.34 for the privilege. The lady who dealt with that call assured us that she would email Alamo to inform them in order to keep our booking secure, and confirm that with us. This obviously did not happen, hence the comments in Para 3 above. The car we reserved was given to another client because we did not arrive on the original flight, which was out of our control as we were diverted via Paris CDG. "

While returning the car at the same location it was noted by the person in charge that there were minor scratch marks visible on the right-side plastic wheel caps. There were no marks observed on the left side plastic wheel caps. There was contradiction as in the rental agreement, it was written as " Left Front Wheel Scratch: Felge fahrer seite vorne kratzer " but no marks observed in left front wheel caps rather marks were seen on right wheel caps. Please see the evidence of the pictures taken when the car was returned. By evening same day, they charged 1050 euros our debit card without even sending us an invoice. A set of 4 plastic wheel caps when I checked online for that car was 25 euros only. There has been no damage to the car whatsoever other than this minor scratches to the plastic wheel caps as can also be verified from the report (Inspection Report.jpg) attached. We are very upset and highly disappointed as there was no mail to even notify us that we have been charged this amount from the card. We only realised it much later when we were checking our bank statements. We made repeated calls to the car rental office to understand why this happened and were very confused, but the calls did not get through. Our rest of the holiday was spoiled due to this. We happened to visit Nuremberg airport on 26th August and there we went to the Alamo office where we explained this to the person at the Alamo office (Enterprise). He verified that 1050 euros (250+800) were deducted and admitted that it is a mistake as the charge should be around only 25 euros at max even if the wheel caps were scratched. He asked us to send this mail and assured us it will be followed through. So far, we have made several phone calls and Witten many emails. There is no response at all. This is an act of loot. The staff on return were very efficient and I was on my way in no time, I have returned rental cars before where they are going round the car with torches and everything looking for something to bill you for but not here, they check the fuel and take a quick look at it and if you haven't damaged the car you are good to go. Auto Europe should ensure either the car advertised is the right car for the category of that supplier or the car I hire from auto Europe is the car I get from the supplier. "

" My flight was scheduled to arrive at 16:30 when I had booked my hire from but was slightly delayed by approximately 50 minutes, coupled with the length of time to get through passport control I arrived at Enterprise by 18:00 to be told by the staff member from Enterprise that as I was more than 30 minutes late they had given away my hire car and that the only available car required an additional €30 for each day of hire. I use your service a lot and have never had this experience in spite of always being later than the time of the booking by at least 30 minutes. The staff member was incredibly rude and unhelpful and showed not a drop of empathy to the situation. Myself and my colleagues were all incredibly disappointed with this service but were left with no choice but to pay the premium for the other car. Atrocious service from Enterprise, very very disappointed with this as I know that they are a company that ordinarily pride themselves on customer service. The representative pointed out that I should have put my flight number in, but I have never done this. "

" I was a little disappointed with the cross border fee. I hired the car for two days but only traveled to Austria for 6 hours. The company wanted to charge me cross border fees for the whole rental. Eventually I was able to find a compromise. But it was on a exceptional basis. It would be much better particularly in border regions for customers to determine the days on which they want to travel cross border and only charge the cross border fee on those days. This is different from a car seat or snow chains. Those will have to be paid for the whole rental as they will stay with the car. "

" The Auto Europe part was much easier than actually picking the car up! However, more clarity on cross-border fees would be good. I had to really dig into the T&Cs to get this information, which for a European rental is a frequent requirement. Since it can vary considerably between rental companies it would be better if it was clearer. "
" Finding the location at Frankfurt Airport Terminal 1 was very unclear - it took me a long time to find it. When I arrived, the counter was shared by Alamo, Enterprise and ?National and it was very unclear where to queue. Too much upselling - the clerk tried to sell me a bigger vehicle which I didn't want, plus a sat nav that was already in the car. I was also offered to pre-pay for a full tank of diesel, which was a clear attempt at making money out of me as it's almost impossible to return a car completely empty. It also wasn't possible for me to pay the cross-border fee on my debit card and then the deposit on my credit card. I really don't understand why this had to be a single transaction and it was really inconvenient as I don't use my credit card normally. Finally, I booked a group A car and was given group C. " Compared to most of our experiences in picking up rental cars at airports, our pick up and return at cologne- Bonn airport was a nightmare. Despite the fact that we had reserved a GPS at the time of our booking, we were told at the counter that there would be a delay while it was mounted. As we were a little early, we were not bothered by this. The directions from the service counter were vague, and as there were no sidewalks that lead down into the garage, we had to take an elevator down And then search for 20 minutes before we found the small office in the garage, only to discover that we would have to wait additionally for the car to arrive. It was the return of the car, however, that was the most frustrating. We entered the underground parking lot for rental car return and followed the signs for enterprise/ Alamo. After pulling into the queue, And waiting 10 minutes, we were instructed that we were in the wrong section. Believing that we had misunderstood the remarks, we found the office and asked why we were in the wrong section. We were then told, "well, the signs are incorrect." There is no sign informing potential returnees that the "enterprise/Alamo" signs are incorrect . "

They tried to charge for a cross border charge to go to Austria even though it was stated on our voucher. After some discussion they agreed not to charge. " I booked a Golf. Got given a Jeep Renegade. They said it was a similar car. 25mpg instead of 50mpg. Cruising speed of 70mph on the autobahn in Germany as opposed to 100mph. There is no way in this world that they are a similar car. For my next trip I have gone with a different rental company. " I have had AutoEurope bookings previously without incident. Maybe this is just Cologne Bonn airport but this has now been two weeks in a row. I am thinking that AutoEurope in general are fine until something goes wrong. For me though the handling of issues is the art of good customer service. "

When I got to the desk the customer service agent said it would take 60 minutes plus to get a vehicle from another office. I rang AutoEurope who advised that this policy for late arrivals is detailed in the voucher...it isn't. Looking at Alamo's web site it says they will hold the car for 12 hours. AutoEurope offered to cancel my booking and rebook with another provider at a cost of an additional £100 and a wait time of 2 hours until the booking got to the hire company. So his best solution was to wait for longer and pay more money than the solution the hire company offered. No thanks, this offer was worse than useless. "

Very quick inspection of car and small marks were not recorded as "too small" by the agent. On return the car was inspected with a torch and a scratch only visible if you laid on the floor was found. As the odometer proved we had driven the car from the airport to our house and back again, at no point could the damage have been caused by us. It took lots of discussion before eventually it was agreed that the mark was there when we first took the car. Overall felt like we were being conned and wont use your service again. The lady dealing with us was only doing her job but i suggest if the inspection when returning the car is so thorough then the inspection when taking the car should be to the same standard. "

" If we order a car, it needs to be a similar version in most respects. Alamo Berlin didn't seem to be too aware of your contract details given the questions they asked despite being given details via your booking. They also asked about various insurances (a typical rental trick to create uncertainty and extra sales), although I am sure I covered all aspects via your contract and personal excess insurance. The rental process went reasonably smoothly otherwise. Just annoying to have such uncertainty and wide variance in vehicle type at point of pick up. I expect a rental contract to be near to accurate in all respects including similarity of vehicle type. Any contractual failure on my part would have been met by you with some resistance no doubt. "

The only issue was that there was little chance of getting the car listed by auto europe on the booking (a Toyota RAV4) at the pick up location of Stuttgart airport. This was compounded by the fact that their stock of available vehicles at the time of pick up was considerably reduced. It was the option of a Toyota RAV that tempted me to the vehicle group I selected although I realise of course that this is only a representative of the group and not the guaranteed car. The staff were very accommodating though and helped with getting an alternative with which we were satisfied. "

" Despite the advice to let Auto Europe know about delays, there is nothing that staff there can do other than transfer to the counter, which did not answer the phone. It would be more helpful to have a warning that staff will not wait for delayed flights even when informed. I am also still waiting for a response to my request for a refund since I did not have a car (and incurred significant inconvenience and cost as a result!) "
" Despite having my flight number the desk was closed when my flight was delayed by 30 mins. I was unable to collect the car resulting in expense and inconvenience. The counter could not be reached by phone or email at any point during the evening to make arrangements and did not reply to any emails requesting a refund either. Appalling service. "

" I booked the car for six days, paid a premium to get an automatic car. My flight was late arriving by 3 hrs and the car had been reallocated meaning I could only get a manual car. I asked if there would be a credit to me since manuals are cheaper to hire and was told no, not even a hint of an apology. I don't think holding a car for 3 hours in an airport is much to ask for. Very disappointed "

" I rent from this location weekly. Counter staff are surly and indifferent. They always claim the vehicles are undamaged, but there is always damage on them which then needs a member of staff to inspect, causing delay. They NEVER show existing damage on their forms, but then go over the vehicle with a fine tooth comb on return. They are the Ryanair of car hire - the cheapest, but with zero customer service. "

" It took a long time to be processed at the airport office, otherwise it was a very good service. "
" So far I'm satisfied. Found the desk for Enterprise ok, was seen after a short wait and given keys to a car and directions to the car location about 400 metres away. I asked if there was any damage on the vehicle and was told none but to inspect it and to ring if there were any marks over a 2 coin size. There was a significant scrape on the passenger side which I photographed.. There were a couple of other small minor marks on the boot sill. I went back to the desk and the scrape was noted. On return inspection guy said the scrape was noted but there was a problem with the boot sill marks. I told him what happened upon collection and that I only reported the scrape in line with the 2 advice. He eventually said ok! Unpleasant end to hire. "
" When I picked up the keys I was told it was fine. It had a scrape which I photographed and some small marks - when I went back to the desk I was told only the scrape needed marking. Different story upon return when the inspection guy said there was a problem with the minor marks that I was told did not need marking. I felt I was being set up by the two people saying different things and that I was going to be blamed / charged for the minor marks I was told not to report! The car was fine and the price competitive but I was left feeling concerned after the handover process. I will be contacting Auto -Europe Monday to go through what happened. "

" My biggest concern is the constantly changing policy on cross border costs/travel. sometimes nil, sometimes 20 euro, sometimes material amounts per per. This is getting more and more like ryan air, hidden costs deep in the detailed t&c. You used to be much more upfront, get back to being that. On this point alone i can NO LONGER recommend you as i have in the past "

" The car was hired under understanding I could travel cross to Austria.Local firm enterprise said 5 euros extra per day and that all rental companies did this.I then walked over and randomly asked 2 who said they don't charge anything.I then couldn't reach auto Europe on phone,had to pay lot more than on quote.very angry about this "

" You may give a really good price but we found it misleading with our booking as we were charged 35.99 euros at Munich airport.We expected to pay may be around 6 euros per day for going over border to Austria as your terms and conditions suggest but not much more. When we asked auto europe reservations department about this they said we should have read the terms and conditions, that's all! The problem with this is that the terms are not made clear until you have booked and paid and then we still have no idea why it was so much more?? So we wont use you again!! "
