The Rental Agreement I got was for a Nissan Qushquai. The damage report stated nothing about a dent or ding in a wheel. The car turned out to be a Jeep Renagade. We took pictures of the damages before leaving but were not given a new Rental Agreement for the correct car. On return the aggressive woman who inspected it and stated I had damaged a wheel. I told her it was already there and tried to explain my daughter took photos. I was directed to the manager who was just as aggressive and similarly unhelpful suggesting I should sign for the cars return and admit liability and pay a further €160 - for an old ding in wheel that was apparently not on the Rental Agreement as outgoing damage!! I refused and left the Guerin Office before things got ugly. Just read Trust Pilot or Trip advisor. They try this on with everyone. "

" Same as usual but your clients should be made aware of local toll systems. AE should not be absolved of responsibility to protect their clients. As a consequence of not being given toll cards we were charged Euros 51 at the first toll because the system does not work. I saw the Etoll unit on the car and thought that tolling would be automatic, but no. All because we did not have a human to talk to at the sign in. Machines are NOT the answer. "

Initially we had a little help from the two staff but soon this was impossible as demand for their services was overwhelming. Machine was not intuitive for me and I was unable to ask questions on the toll system in Portugal. Machine doesn't talk. Had to be told where to pick the car up and had to get the car scanned for its minor damage as we had no data to link photos taken as per the machines instruction to my wife's mobile. Staff at the pick up even had difficulty getting the keys out of a computerized box. In addition I had to use 2 credit cards, they said this was part of the conditions when I booked and should have been advised by AutoEurope. After being given the keys I had to wait in a queue for 45 to 50 minutes to collect the car; every car was scrutinised in minute detail by the Guerin employees, every nick or scratch on the alloy wheels & car was marked; it took 5 mins.
