" The counter staff was great but did state that there was a number of options and the vehicle I wanted was going to be present... It went downhill from that. The person at the car park counter to collect the car was not very helpful and told me that there was a selection of vehicles present including the one I specifically booked and wanted. This was not true as there was only one vehicle present which was a mustang convertible. I did not want this vehicle as I wanted what I booked or similar (dodge challenger). Staff said that is now all they have (within 2 'minutes of the previous conversation) they would enquire if any were coming back in or if I could pay to upgrade but never came back. I looked for them but to no avail. They had no real knowledge of the vehicles and avoided helping. We waited for some time before realising they weren't coming back and saw them in the distance doing other things. Not great customer service.... "

I was given a large SUV which was not only difficult for my 80 year old mother to get in and out if... but more shocking was that it had been heavily smoked in... not cigarettes but Cannabis. It was so strong I had to drive with the windows opened. I was told there were no other cars available. It was so strong my guess would be whoever cleaned it probably smoked while cleaning it. I contacted their customer service email address with details of what had happened... no reply. A few days later I received their normal computer generated survey about the rental and I again responded in detail. This time I received s short reply that I should have reported the car had not been cleaned. I've never had a bad experience with Hertz, Dollar or Thrifty and have been a loyal customer to them fir twenty years, you should be able to see on my account with you. I'm terribly disappointed that I wasn't provided any level of support from them. I felt humiliated putting my 80 year old mother in that vehicle. " The service at Atlanta Airport Thrifty desk, was slow and laboured, the employee I dealt with seemed disinterested and off in his attitude towards me. As mentioned the car wasn't great, functional, basic but unclean. I'm not convinced I would use Thrifty again. "

" On arrival there was some confusion- Sixt had a GPS reserved as extra on my order which I knew to be incorrect and not mentioned in my Auto Europe voucher. Detecting an up-sale trick Insisted it had not been ordered but would welcome one if offered without charge. The desk then told me they had to remove the extra charge and this took some time. The agent said the car would be a BMW which I was pleased about. When I reached the pick up area I was handed the keys to a Chevrolet mode that had no load cover in the trunk - not great for security. I complained to the check out guy who rand his colleague to explain that I'd expected a BMW and one with a luggage area that would not be visible to thieves. I was quickly given the keys to a BMW X1 and asked to leave them a glowing review!! The car was quite new and performed well although it's high tech dash interface was quite slow to hook up to my phone instructions each time the car started. I noticed on pick up that part of the front nearside wheel surround was missing but didn't worry about this as Sixt have a camera checkpoint in and out. On return it was very difficult to locate the car rental return area as all the road signs and also my GPS tried to send me to the rear of this area which is inaccessible. Eventually we found it by driving further around and then finding the return sign. Atlanta airport covers a vast area and it takes time to drive anywhere within this congested zone. The check-in guy was very quick and signed the car off within 3 minutes without any hassle. Overall, it was a positive experience mainly due to the car itself and the ease of driving once I had familiarised myself with the settings. "

" Rubbish service, I needed a problem sorting and all I got was to call a number at Dollar, I called Dollar endless times only to be told I needed to go to a Dollar office. Which I had done and got fobbed off at the 2 Dollar offices I visited. I called Auto Europe and emailed lots of times only to get the same response to call Dollar, I explained I had done this multiple times and got nowhere. It was Stressful, time consuming, dangerous, I booked an 8 seater or similar with Auto Europe, we got a 5 seater which just about did the job until our 6th member of our party arrived but we had to drive 5 hours with luggage on the knees of the rest passengers. I was in line one hour for the pick-up, and most of the staff seemed to be working at an extremely slow place. I had to leave to attend a meeting and then returned back at 8pm to see the same problem with nobody helping any thrify customers. " The system that is used by the call center seems to be different from the actual location. The call center of the car hire place seemed to see my GPS hire but the location was unable to see a GPS within the reservation, this was/is very frustrating and I expect more. I called AutoEurope and was instructed to email for a resolution and I have yet to gain any resolution from AutoEurope. I have rented from AutoEurope on many occasions and have never experienced anything like this. My resolution request number is #646517 "
" My experience was subpar, to say the least. The location did not have reservations for cars and ran off of a first come first serve basis. I was one of the lucky ones to receive a vehicle, but I paid for a GPS and the car that I received was lacking that feature and the location refused to remedy the issue due to the order lacking from the system within the location. I have a resolution ticket with AutoEurope but I have yet to receive my refund as I was told by AutoEurope staff that I would receive. Renting from Enterprise was a disappointment. "

" The desk guy was quite surly (brusque/abrupt) probably because we did not want to purchase any extra insurances/satnavs etc. The cars available were all damaged in some way - scuff marks, bent hub caps, dents etc and some had very high mileages. The one we chose (a Honda Civic) was fine once I had straightened out the bent hub caps! We have been to the US very many times and have rented very many cars but it seems that Dollar is keeping them longer nowadays and they certainly look it. "

" On arrival at Atlanta we were offered a choice of car based on our rental arrangements. All those available had some superficial damage and we took some time taking photos of the marks etc. When we left the hire centre we reported that to the guard at the gate who promptly marked a diagram to denote areas of damage without even checking. The first car we rented had a short expiry date on its taxation plate and an indicator came up on the dash to show an oil change was required. Dollar replaced the car with another acceptable model. This second car required an oil change within two weeks of us taking it over. Otherwise no problems with Dollar as a company. "
