When they were ready they found me, and took all details etc and we were on our way. Car was OK but under powered for the steep hills in Corfu. "

Car was in a good condition. My only criticism is with the booking agent. We specifically paid slightly more for a specific car which the company did not have. This was not the fault of Auto Union. I would highly recommend this car company for anyone visiting Paros. "

The young man that checked us in on arrival was very helpful, courteous and gave the correct advice in recommending additional insurance. I took the insurance out and so fortunate as I did damage the car on a wall. On delivering the car back to Auto Union, they were very fair and there were no additional charges. Every year the actual office has increased in size, attractively painted, comfortable and looks very professional. We would recommend the company without reservation. "

" Originally was suppose to fly in to Thessaloniki, but problems at Stansted airport meant that we missed our flight so had to fly in to Preveza. The original car we hired from Discover cars wanted to charge us an extra 400 euros plus taxes to change airports and have the car delivered to Preveza. So cut a long story short we hired another car from Thessaloniki from Union cars which was spot on. Even better service as we could drop the car off in parking 6 for our early flight home. "

" The information provided by Auto Europe (AE) was incorrect. 1. The AE voucher stated that an International Drivers License is mandatory for non-EU drivers. This is incorrect for UK driving license holders in Greece. 2. AE documentation stated that the Auto Union pickup is 150m to right of main exit from airport terminal. This is incorrect. A new airport terminal has been built. It is now several hundred yards along the road to get to the Auto Union office. A car hire rep will pick up customers from the terminal. PLEASE WOULD AE UPDATE THEIR DOCUMENTATION! "

I managed to touch a low wall with the front bumper and removed some paint together with a barely detectable dent. 180 euros for a repair which may never be carried out on this high mileage car seems excessive. Auto Union's office at Mytilene Airport is not, as Auto Europe suggests, "at airport". It is a shuttle bus ride away. My voucher from Auto Europe gave directions to a non-existent office just outside Arrivals - very disconcerting not to be able to find it. "

" I was first offered a very old Nissan which had 110 thousand kilometres on the clock and frankly was in very poor condition. When I complained that I had never hired such an old and beaten up car, the only alternative I was given was a Citroen which was less old but still with 35 thousand kilometres and not a modern vehicle at all. I have never in all my years of hiring cars ever paid so much for such an old car. . The other issues was that when I booked the vehicle, autoeurope's listing said that it would be a full to full fuel policy. The tank on the vehicle I was given was only half full. When I suggested to the office staff that they could fill the tank at the next door garage in order to be in line with policy, they said that they weren't able to do this and that Auto Union's policy is in fact to require customers to return vehicles with the same level of fuel as they are given (which is practically impossible). Having hired through Auto Europe many times before I was very disappointed on this occasion and will think twice about using the site again. "

" This experience was a real shame as we had used the Auto Europe website last year and had been delighted with the experience and the value for money we'd got. The problem is clearly with Auto Union and not Auto Europe. "
" When I telephoned Auto Union in Corfu to check that someone would be there at 23.30 for us to pick up our car I was very impressed - the man was very friendly and helpful. And the man we dealt with when we collected the car was also very nice and helpful, but the external condition of the car was not good with so many scratches and dents all over it, and it hadn't been cleaned so it was difficult to see the condition under the dust and dirt (and of course it was dark when we picked it up). The representative marked the main scratches and dents in pen on a form and said we shouldn't worry about the small scratches everywhere - crucially he didn't take photographs of it at all (and neither did we as it was late, dark and we were travelling with our children and just wanted to get to our hotel). Though it had clearly not been looked after very well (there was a warning light on as we drove out of the car hire place because the number plate bulb had gone!) it was a perfect car for the narrow Corfu roads and we had no problem with it during our holiday. When we returned the car, however, the (very unfriendly/rather surly) woman we dropped it off with went round the car taking photographs and pointed to an area on sill/under the driver side door which she said we had damaged (and we certainly had not - and damage had been identified at pick-up and marked on the car plan by the person we collected the car from). She then spent ten to fifteen minutes trying to find a photograph to show us that the damage had not been there when we got the car - but couldn't and of course her colleague hadn't taken any photos when we picked the car up. In the end she very grudgingly and with very bad grace told us we could go - but I had to ask her to sign our paperwork to say that the car had been returned in okay condition. It really was not a nice way to end what had otherwise been a lovely holiday, so I certainly would not use this company again - we got the impression that they were trying it on with us and trying to blame us for damage that they had failed to spot from a previous user. "

" Our allotted car was far from great. As we went around it with the form to check scuffs and dents, the staff member recorded multiple areas of damage to pretty much every panel and every part of the car: front, back and sides plus all wheel caps and both mirrors. We accepted everything as there was no alternative (and because the staff were so good). But the driving experience too was far from good - the car had done over 86,000 km, and it's suspension and ride showed the result. We felt every bump! Getting up the very steepest roads (we stayed near Agni Bay) was a struggle too. The aircon didn't come on every time we used the car - although we eventually got it to work once the journey was underway. We actually laughed about it all - but it was a shame that we weren't allocated a car that wasn't a little less of a "banger" than ours was "

" It is unfortunate that one aspect of my interaction with Auto Union spoiled it for me - to the extent I am unlikely to go back to them. The driver who picked me up and dropped me off was rude, unhelpful and completely unfriendly. I am from an Indian background and I even thought he may be racist. I complained about him when i was initially picked up. He did not bother to offer to help me with my luggage which was heavy, did not really acknowledge me at all, and did not bother with putting on the A/C even though it was really hot. I was shocked that despite this the front desk thought nothing about assigning the same driver to drop me back to the airport whilst returning. Actually I will never use them again. And recommend that anyone non White steer clear of this company. "

" The agent arrived 10 minutes late on day of collection and informed us that the size of car booked wasn't available and we had a bigger one. This in more normal times would not have been an issue but given the current situation with fuel costs the last thing you need is a less economical car. The biggest issue as far as we were concerned was the fact that the car stank of cigarette smoke which took all of the first day to clear. My wife suffers badly with asthma and this smell caused issues. On the second day a warning light came on and as we could not get a phone signal to contact office went to a nearby garage who informed us it was a tyre pressure warning, they were able to inflate tyres to correct pressure, one was very soft, however they couldn't reset the warning light. We contacted the office later in the day and they came to our accommodation a few hours later and did the reset. This however spoiled the second days enjoyment. Surely the tyre pressures should have been checked before delivery. Finally they insisted on collecting the car on Tuesday evening instead of Wednesday morning as booked. "

" When I picked the car had a Service/failure Indication light blinking. The overall condition of the car was overused. The location of the Auto Europe is tricky to find if you don't know the area. Difficult also to return if you pass the exit. "

" Everyone we dealt with, including our shuttle service driver, was friendly and efficient, hence the top ratings; however, whilst the car itself performed perfectly well, it wasn't in the 'prettiest' of conditions. My wife mentioned the many scrapes and scratches, on collection, to one of the staff, remarking, "Must have had one or two careless drivers", and received the reply, "You are in Greece!" "

" Car was very old not good condition. Assistant at pick up made us pay 20 euro cash as she was adamant there was no 2nd driver included all very suspicious as she wrote it down rather than say it. Clearly she was going to take the 20 euros for herself "

" Holiday cancelled on monday 7th september by jet2 following uk government quarantine, 44 hours before due to collect car. Rang to cancel - subject to £120 cancellation charge. You have NOT incurred £120 losses. Regular customer - no more - this was out of my control, not even offered a credit for next hire. I have tried to support travel industry through Covid - 4 holidays cancelled, 2 taken. Wish i had not bothered - companies will go broke. "
