" On the Auto-Europe voucher, the fee for extra driver was marked as 12 euro per day. Enterprise tried to charge 13 euro, and only because of my insistence, reduced it back to 12 euro. It's a small difference, but it seems to indicate that Enterprise are not completely respectful of the rates agreed in Auto-Europe's confirmation. This is bad. I have booked with Auto-Europe many, many times over the years and rate you high, but next time I may choose a car hire company other than Enterprise. "
" Enterprise Avignon TGV invite the customer to leave the pickup point with no documentation, neither the contract nor any documentation of the condition of the car's bodywork - just a promise of an email later, with no precision around what the email will contain. I don't think this is acceptable and it is the reason for my low rating. Paperless does not work in this context. I did ask for a paper agreement and got one, but it took ages to produce, and delayed our departure. The staff were polite but desperately slow. "

After being shown I decided I didn't want a hybrid and had to again return to the desk to sign up for a different upgraded car. I would never choose Keddy again. "

On this occasion I received a hard sell for additional insurance cover despite telling the Sixt person on the counter at Avignon TGV that I had additional Excess cover via a UK annual insurance policy. The Sixt counter person was very aggressive and I felt I was being treated as an idiot. I have been hiring cars in France for over 20 years, I speak French fluently, and have never received this kind of treatment. I dread to think what it would be like if you are British and don't speak any French. Also, within 2 hours of picking up the Citroen C3, there was an amber alert concerning checking the tyre pressures. Upon checking, the front passenger tyre was found to be below pressure (2 bar instead of 2.5 bar). As a result we had to go to another Sixt centre in La Valette sur Var to pick up a new car, which wasted half a day of our holiday. I was very surprised that this should happen so soon after picking up the car. I have complained about it in my review for Sixt. I have no issue with Auto Europe as I have used you before, but think you should be aware of the particular treatment we experienced this time with Sixt. "

I did not get the GPS but I obviously needed the child seat. So a complete lack of transparency. When we returned the car, the checking of the condition of the car was minimal apart from zoning into the tyre which dubiously had a nail in the front left tyre. Not five minutes before it had been fine. The Avis employee stated straight away that we hadn't taken out insurance so we will be charged whatever Avis quote it to be which was 316 euros. " Incredibly unhelpful staff. In fact rude. Arrived with 3 adults and 2 children, who required car seats. All this was stipulated on the booking. Booked a Peugeot 308 or equivalent. Given a Renault Kaptur. I pointed out that the car offered was smaller than the car booked. They told me that they considered the Kaptur an upgrade. The boot was 25% smaller than a 308 and so we could not fit all our luggage. After 20 minutes in the 42-degree heat, had to cram everything into the front for the 3-hour drive. One car seat was defective, so that had to be replaced. We drove off only to find that the rear camera didn't work, the touch screen didn't work and the rubber seals around the sunroof came away. Brilliant. I called customer services, who apologised and agreed with me that the car was not an upgrade from the Peugeot 308. In fact, it was in the class below according to the customer service representative. That's totally unacceptable. We were lied to at Avignon TGV station. They agreed to switch the car because of the defects and the replacement was fine for the rest of the trip. In all, the worst experience I have ever had with a car hire company. To be honest I don't feel we should have even been paying for the hire in the end. I shall never use Sixt ever again and it has definitely impacted my view of AutoEurope too. "

The car bodywork was quite dirty and a previous hirer had somehow managed to get what looked like superglue over the bodywork and had then proceeded to try and remove it with a scourer scratching the bodywork. The details of the damage was then added to my contract. Bit disappointing really. I am also still waiting for my 800 euro deposit to be returned having been told it would be returned immediately. "

" The staff would not allow collection of the vehicle until the exact booked time, even though cars were available. They were generally not customer friendly. The car broke down after one hour with electronic problems stating that the car was broken on the dashboard. Upon calling Avis 6 times a repair truck came and took the car away after 7hours, following which I was not called back twice by Avis to arrange a replacement car. I called Avis the next morning and was told I had to go back to Avignon personally to collect a replacement car - meaning a 3hour round trip and essentially being without a car for 24hours. During this period I had to cancel a dinner appointment and a planned village tour visit. Overall I feel Avis has a terrible customer service. A replacement car should have been brought to me and swapped for the broken one simultaneously. No apology was given nor offer to reimburse the lost day. Zero stars. "

" Ordered an automatic and paid over £630 for it! The car supplied was an estate car one size bigger than I had ordered! The car lasted 2 days before the plastic/rubber piece under the wheel arch that protects the engine fell off and got caught up in the wheels so we had to pull it off! Avis sent out a Mechanic who told me to take car to office in Beziers to get a replacement! Did this on the Wednesday and were supplied with a manual Renault Clio, 2 sizes down from original supplied! Asked if they could change it for an automatic, they refused, so asked them to get one for 5 days later, also refused! "

If we returned two days later, they said, cars would be available. That however, would have necessitated a two-hour round trip from our base. So we were stuck with the van for 8 days. We were in Provence with a party of 26 friends, but we were unable to offer lifts to any of the organised events for other people in the group as the van had only 2 seats. When we returned the vehicle they asked if we were satisfied. Clearly, we were not satisfied, and received a 15% OFF ticket for a future Enterprise rental. They also had the audacity to ask if we had left the tank full of diesel. "
