" Substantially cheaper than other companies, therefore didn't expect it to be brilliant but served its purpose. Car had 130k kilometres on the clock. Virtually every panel scratched or dented and interior had seen better days. Also had very little fuel in it so had to go straight to petrol station and tyres were well worn. Counter staff okay but let down by poor technology - card machine wasn't working so couldn't take pre payment, printer kept jamming so took an age to print out contract. Return easy, just pulled up, quick Look round and off you go. "

" Our hire with bravacar was effortless throughout. Friendly, helpful staff met us at tge airport to collect us for a <5 minute drive to the office and depot where paperwork was completed promptly. We were in the car and on our way probably within 30 minutes of landing. Vehicle return was just as efficient. The cars offered may not be the newest hire cars available (ours had 44,000km) and bodywork is rather scruffy. However, importantly, the vehicle appeared well maintained and mechanically sound. The slightly older nature of the fleet is also reflected in the hire price and quite frankly it's reassuring and rather refreshing to have a rental car already with a few scrapes and knocks, and to know that unlike the big hire firms they're not going to be precious about the car and impose unreasonably high financial penalties for the slightest scuff or stone chip. Particularly good to know on a small island with some difficult roads. I very much which that this 'lower end' approach to car hire were more widespread, afterall, how many people really care quite how tidy and new their holiday hire is, compared against the better price and more relaxed and therefore enjoyable use of a car which is already worn in. I rented a SEAT IBIZA OR SIMILAR | ECONOMY CLASS hopping that I would get a nice, comfy and a car in a reasonably new condition. Instead I was given a very old Ford Fiesta with severe scratches and few bumps all over the car body. I would like to send you copy of the contract where shows the marks on the car. I travelled with my partner and was meeting my family in the island. I never felt so ashamed to meet my family with such poor car. I was even asked by my father: "Are these the type of cars that car rentals provide to tourists to give a good image of the island?" The air conditioning was inexistent and while driving there was a strong vibration from misaligned wheels – of which I felt unsafe. The car was given with almost empty fuel tank. Upon return, I gave my feedback to the staff member and he agreed saying that doesn't understand the reason for that car be still available for renting. I would like some money back from BravaCar, for the poor experience I had. I will certainly not use Auto Europe again for car hiring. "

" I was offered a car with defective tyres, the front tyres were bald for about a third of the width and there was a slapping sound as if part of the tyre was loose. The brakes were suspect (squeaky) and there was a lot of bodywork damage and the inside of the car smelled of oil. I went out in it and did not feel safe and returned it. They changed the car without argument and it was better, fewer damaged panels and better tyres. They replaced the car without any argument. The car i got was OK, not very clean inside but adequate, fewer dents. I noted some issues with the engine, hunting at low throttle levels which was irritating. Having said that, the lady who did the paperwork was nice and did not try to sell me add ons and extra insurance. In fact all the staff were nice and did their best. I suspect they are not given much support from the owners of the company, who are ultimately responsible for the condition of vehicles. There seemed very little in the way of equipment at the depot to examine the vehicles properly or do effective maintenance. If you want to take this further please contact me. "
