" Checkin and drop off were slow, especially the latter, due to a very slow computer. The former was slow primarily because the Budget app designed for early checkin, never works. Disappointing that the intermediate SUV we hired did not have autocruise. "

" Auto Europe just take the booking and if you have problems like we did there is not much in the way of help you can get easily. "
" We purchased additional insurance when we booked the car but at collection where hugely pressurised to but 'their' additional insurance. Oscar told us it was MANDATORY in mexico and we had NO CHOICE and had to pay $200 we explained we had additional insurance and showed him the policy he then said it didn't cover Mexico - it did and we showed him where it said all countries other than those listed and mexico was not listed - he said he couldn't accept than and it had to explicitly say ' cover if for MEXICO and the amount of cover' - we asked to see where in their documentation it said it was mandatory but he could only point to where it said budget 'recommended' their additional insurance - we explained that recommended does not mean mandatory but he said that he would not let us have the car unless we bought the insurance - there was a stand off for 30 minutes - we stood our ground (very uncomfortably being stared at in an office off airport down a dusty road late at night with a 3 hours drive away from our hotel) eventually Oscar gave in and let us have the car saying if there was ANY damage they would charge us the full $800 deposit we had to block on our credit card. So many photos later of the car's current condition we left fairly upset, frightened and feeling very vulnerable. Upon return they signed the car off as OK and said they would take the block off the $800 on my credit card within 24 hours.....3 days later and it's still blocked so I have to contact my credit card company now to get it unblocked / refunded. Upon speaking to other travellers during our 3 week trip MANY other stories were told of the same type of thing BEWARE - I expected better of Budget. "
