Bobo Campers is South Africa's most experienced camper, motorhome and 4x4 rental company. They started their business back in the 90s, during these years, they significantly expanded their rental fleet to provide customers modern and functional vehicles in both South Africa and Namibia. No matter if you are planning a family holiday, a road trip with friends or an adventurous tour across the country, a campervan hire with Bobo will surely satisfy your needs. The supplier has two depot locations in South Africa - Cape Town and Johannesburg - and one in Namibia, in its capital city Windhoek. Bobo offers the opportunity to pick up your vehicle in South Africa and drop it off in Namibia, or vice versa - allowing you to explore southern Africa as much as possible.

Insurance

The amount of excess the client will be responsible for in case of collision or accident is R 53.000. This amount will be blocked on the client´s credit card at pick up time. It is also possible to add some extra insurances in order to reduce the excess; more information is available during the booking process. Personal injury and belongings are not covered by this insurance. The client is therefore responsible in obtaining his or her own travel insurance in advance. Be aware that in Africa the risk of an accident is higher during the night than during the day. By law all accidents must be reported to the local Police as well as to the local supplier within 24 hours. We strongly suggest you take photographs of all vehicles involved and obtain an Accident Report number from the police.

What additional items are offered?

All rented vehicles come with additional equipment such as, bed-sheets, towels and kitchen utensils to cook and eat with. During your motorhome hire with Bobo you can also decide to add extra items to make your journey as comfortable as possible, for example, a GPS navigation system, barbecue, etc. Please note that if you are planning to travel outside South Africa, an extra cross-border fee will apply, the cost of which is clearly stated during the booking process).

Important things to keep in mind when hiring a campervan with Bobo

It is possible to drive in South Africa with your national driving licence only if it is printed in English. However, if the licence is not in English you must obtain an an International Drivers Licence/Permit before leaving your country. During the pick up procedure you will be asked to present both, your national license and the international one, failure to do so will result in losing your booking. Drivers must have a minimum age limit of 21, however for 4x4 vehicles the minimum age limit is higher at 23. All reservations must be made under the main driver’s name. Only VISA and Mastercard credit cards are accepted for the deposit, Diners Club and AMEX are not accepted. With Bobo it is possible to travel outside South Africa, although be aware that some restrictions might apply. For all vehicle categories you are permitted to travel to: Namibia, Swaziland and Botswana. With the Discoverer FunX, and DC categories, in additional to the previous list, it is also possible to travel to Lesotho, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. If you are planning to travel to one of these countries, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can inform the supplier beforehand as special documents will need to be prepared.

Where to pick up my motorhome hire with Bobo

Bobo's offices are open from Monday to Friday, 07:30 until 16:30, and from 08:00 until 12:00 on Saturdays. A campervan hire with Bobo gives you the possibility to pick up your vehicle in one city and return it in another, plus a one-way option is also possible from South Africa to Namibia.
