    Organised within one terminal building, the airport in Cardiff has everything you might need at one place. The Terminal handles over one million people every year, who travel to and from 900 various destinations worldwide. Alongside the eating and shopping options, there are currently five car hire suppliers whose desks are located in the building and outside the Arrivals Hall.

    Airport Facilities

    As in almost every airport, there are a number of various facilities which make your waiting time shorter and pleasant. Go shopping for some essentials or buy last-minute souvenirs at the duty-free shop. Use the post box outside the main entrance to the building to send your holiday postcards. If in need to exchange money, take advantage of the two exchange bureaus, one situated at the Departures and the other one near the baggage reclaim belt. Within the Departures Hall there is a pharmacy and a bookshop. If travelling with children, you may want to take them to the Play Centre also at the Departures. Please note that children need to be supervised by parents at all times. Another great spot for the young is the Techniquest Exhibit.

    With 48 toilets, self-service check-in desks, comfortable lounges, information points, free Wi-Fi throughout and numerous restaurants, cafes and bars. Together with an extensive shopping area, you’ll also find security check points, customs, departure and arrivals lounges, check-in desks, baggage reclaim belts, ATM machines. A meeting point, pray room, smoking lounge, VIP lounge, a bank, post office and currency exchange bureau.

    How to get to and from Cardiff airport

    After you pick up your car, you will need to drive to the west to Cardiff city centre. Take Tredogan Road to A4226 and after about two miles take A48 and A4232 to A4161 in Cardiff. The airport is connected with the city by two bus services which operate every half an hour. Being located in Rhoose, the airport is connected with the city centre and Bridgent also by rail. A shuttle bus will take you to and from the train station for a symbolic fee of £1.

    Parking tips

    In addition to the Drop-off Area, which is free for the first 10 minutes of use, the airport also offers short-term and long-term parking options. If reduced mobility is your problem, the airport offers special assistance with parking.

    When in Cardiff, you can take advantage of on-street parking as well as numerous car parks and the popular P&R option. On-street parking is charged every day and the rate depends on the location. Payment is possible with coins and cashless, via apps and smartphones. While parking is limited to a few hours in some car parks, there are some which allow for full-day parking.
