    Airport Information

    Conveniently located just 3 miles south-west of downtown Fort Lauderdale and only 21 miles north of Miami, FLL is one of the busiest international airports in the United States of America. It operates around 700 flights daily, with a succession of long-haul flights to and from most popular destinations around the world, including Europe, North America, Asia, Middle East and South America. During World War 2 FLL was an air station for the US Navy and a base for aviators and operational crew.     To pick up your car rental at Fort Lauderdale Airport, you need to head for the Rental Car Center (RCC) where over a dozen major rental car companies operate. Passengers arriving at Terminal 1 need to follow the RCC signs to the Concourse B pedestrian bridge which is located near the Concourse B security checkpoint on level 2.     Terminals

    Fort Lauderdale Airport has four terminals, each of which has two levels (Level 1 for Arrivals and baggage-claim and Level 2 for Departures and check-in). Each of the four terminals has been assigned a colour in order to make identification easier and the passenger experience better. The newest, Terminal 1 (yellow) has three concourses (A, B and C) and caters for several different airines, namely Alaska, Allegiant, Silver, United, Westjet, Bahamasair, Copa Airlines and Southwest. Terminal 1 has a total of 23 gates and houses the main US Customs division. Operating with 9 gates, Terminal 2 (red) has a single concourse and is the main hub for Air Canada and Delta. flights depart from this terminal. Terminal 3 (purple) has 20 gates and serves American Airlines, Azul, JetBlue, Norwegian and Sunwing. Terminal 4 (green) caters mostly for international flights and has 11 gates from which TAM, Spirit, Avianca and Air Transat flights depart.
