    How does Full Protection coverage protect my car hire?

    Auto Europe provides a Full Protection product to all its customers. This gives a level of protection if the car hire supplier charges you an excess should your hired car be stolen or damaged. The concept is simple, once you have paid the required excess to the car hire supplier, claim it back from Auto Europe. In order to do is, you will need to collate all the required documents and then contact us to file your claim. The Car Hire Full Protection product incorporates the following:

    • Vehicle towing costs up to £300
    • Key replacement up to £300
    • Misfuelling up to £300
    • Administration fee up to £300
    • Damage to glass, undercarriage, roof, wheels and tyres up to £3000
    • Loss or damage resulting from fire, theft or vandalism up to £3000

    What to do if you have an accident or your car hire is stolen?

    If you have your car stolen, find any damage or are involved in an accident, keep calm and follow these steps. Contact Auto Europe if you need any help or wish to ask a question.

    • Contact the Police:
      It is mandatory to file a police report regardless of what the incident is. If the car is stolen, damaged or involved in a traffic accident. When a third party is involved, the police report must contain their details.
    • Contact the Car Hire Supplier:
      The supplier must be informed within 24 hours of any incident that occurs. You will find your car hire supplier contact details on your car hire voucher.
    • Take photographic and video evidence:
      If possible and safe to do so, take some photos and video to be used as evidence.
    • Complete a Supplier Accident Report:
      Fill in a supplier accident report form once you return your car. Both the supplier and your must sign the report.

    How can I claim back money from Auto Europe

    If you are covered by our Car Hire Full Protection and wish to make a claim, this must be done within 90 days after the incident date. You must complete the customer service form and refund form before returning them to us with the following documentation:

    • Auto Europe Voucher
    • Signed Supplier Car Hire Contract
    • Signed Police Report
    • Signed Accident Report from Supplier
    • Statement from Credit Card with the amount the car hire supplier charged
    • Final rental invoice
    • Repair invoice
    • If available, photos and video evidence
    • Contact details of everyone involved.
