Car Hire at Geneva Cornavin Train Station - Discovering Switzerland

Geneva Cornavin Train Station is the beating heart of public transport for the city and the wider region, it is also one of the main railway hubs in Switzerland. Serving over 600 trains every day, the station is the central component of a large commercial complex where passengers have access to a vast selection of shopping and dining facilities, such as Burger King, Takinoa, Subway, Sushi Shop and Starbucks Coffee. Officially inaugurated in 1858, the Gare de Genève (as it is known locally) has been the subject of major renovation works in recent years, having reopened in autumn 2014 after being fully refurbished and extended. Its very central location makes it the ideal solution for visitors looking to pick up their car hire at Geneva Cornavin Train Station and enjoy an extensive tour of Lake Geneva and its surroundings.

Fringed by vast mountain ranges, Geneva has a rich and colourful history portrayed through a number of grand monuments and fascinating museums, most notably the famous Musée d'Art et d'Histoire. Its atmospheric and very historic centre is a labyrinth of cosy bars, welcoming cafés and intriguing antique shops lined up along its old winding cobbled streets. Its alleyways and hidden courtyards also harbour some of the best eateries in Switzerland. The most panoramic views of Lake Geneva can be enjoyed from the top of the Cathedral of St Pierre, a striking Romanesque church built in the heart of the city in 1150. Close by, the peaceful Place du Bourg-de-Four is the perfect spot right in the heart of the Old Town for a relaxing drink or a bite to eat. After that we suggest a tour of the nearby Patek Phillippe Museum which traces the history of watch-making all the way back to the 1500s.
