    Parking tips

Gothenburg is an increasingly busy tourist city that's now attracting a large number of visiting car drivers every year, especially in the summer months. Parking spaces are therefore in high demand, especially in and around centre. Göteborgs Stads (Gothenburg’s civic parking company) operates several large, well-organised car parks in and around the inner city, in fact there are approximately 71,000 parking spaces both in central Gothenburg and in the outskirts. All street parking meters are marked with the word TAXA followed by a number (1-7 or 22) or the letter A. No matter if you park your car rental from Gothenburg Central Train Station in a car park, on the street or in any other paid parking spot, you can always pay using your debit or credit card, while some parking meters also accept 10, 5 and 1 SEK coins, but not all. Gothenburg Central Train Station has plenty of parking in close proximity to the main entrance, including Göteborg Centralstation (Park & Go), Centralgaraget, Platinan 1 and Kämpegatan 13, all of which are open 24/7.
