Kerry airport runs with one single passenger terminal which was completed by May 1989 to incorporate the first scheduled flight by Aer Lingus from Dublin, followed by a flight from London by Ryanair. The contract in regards to the terminal was signed in May 1993. The terminal passes through around 335,000 passengers annually.
The airport has a wide range of facilities such as a customer service desk for tourist information or help with tickets and accommodation. The airport also hosts many ATM’s as well as a currency exchange with competitive rates. Public telephones are located throughout the airport and terminal as well as baby changing facilities and free Wi-Fi throughout the airport. There is a gift shop which sells items such as wines, spirits and whiskeys, chocolates, jewellery, books, pottery, perfumes and more wide selections of gifts. There are restaurants and bars proving alcoholic beverages, teas, coffees, soft drinks, hot and cold meals as well as snacks.
To rent a car at Kerry airport is the easiest and most convenient way to travel back and forth. Car rental services can be located on the long term stay car park around a one minute walk from the terminal. Prices are relatively cheap, you are entitled to your first half an hour free and then 2.50 euros for the first 2 hours, 5.00 for up to 5 hours, 8.00 for up to 12 hours, 10 euros for up to 24 hours and then an extra charge of 10.00 euros per day each day thereafter. Long term car park is only around a 2 minute walk from the terminal and again is very cheap price wise, first hour of parking is free, up to 2 hours is then 1.50 euros, 5 euros for up to 12 hours, 6 for 24 hours and then an extra 6 euros per day up to 5 days then becoming 5 euros up to day 15 and then 4.50 euros each day after 15 days. There are 10 disabled parking bays available in the short term parking area.
