As a hire car company you would expect car cleaning for reasonable usage to be included in the price as with other companies but it is not. Another member of my party ordered a car with a full tank of fuel. He was given a car with less than half and told return it with the same amount. When he did he was charged 30 euros to fill it up and told at the desk there was nothing they could do. I would not use this company again it was very shoddy. "

I got to the grab airport at 12:30 this caused me to pay excess charge for them keeping open but also the border crossing which I know you've got to pay was a salty 62 euros so all in all the border crossing fee and the late picking up fee cost me more than what the hire car did for the whole week !!! The staff for excellent though and the car was spot on Due to these extra charges I don't think I could recommend this company which is such a shame really if they sort it out there border crossing and late night pick up it would be great. And it was all because he wanted to up sale on the excess insurance and I expect many so fall for it. We used yourselves as your price was so good but if you have to add all the insurance it is higher and this needs to be considered and if you already have your own you should not have to justify it. As I said before this was the first time it had been really intimidating "

I was wary of this happening as a relative had similar experience a few years ago with this company. The lady looked at the photos and agreed I was not culpable. " Booking though through AutoEurope was simple and easy, no problems. The only thing I would note is that watch out when renting a car in Split, if you wish to travel to the islands you will need to pay an additional fee, CarWiz charged us £28 for this as we were staying on the island of Brac. "

I arrived in pula ,went to carwiz desk then was immediately harressed to take their insurance to which i told them i had to extra insurance,desk clerk said she had no copy of this, i then showed her the confirmation but again she said she had no copy of this. I told her i was not taking her insurance went to pay security deposit with card and it got declined tried again declined ,I then said could i not sign using card ,she said No. I then tried to use my visa debit card she said she i would now then need to take their insurance which came to roughly £261 at which point I just said forget it and paid £100 taxi to resort. While waiting for taxi next customer recieved the same treatment only they paid the extra insurance. on reaching resort taking to other guests they also had the same problems with credit cards being declined bit they were allowed to sign instead. on arriving home i tried credit card and lo and behold pin number is correct. I hire cars all the time on holiday mostly in the USA and have never had any problems,I now wish i had took advice from previous comments on tripadvisor because they were 100% correct. I am not looking for any money back or compensation but you should look at your suppliers who are damaging your reputation. "

Only few min after taking the car, a tyre deflated. Had to inflate it several times a day; 4. Using a spare tyre was impossible as the tool set was incomplete; 5. Had to call carWiz service (road assistance not included or I was not given one) which came after 9.5 hrs; 6. The carWiz charged me Euro 449.82 for flat tyre as it was my fault; 7. Complained to carWiz customer service but they were not bordered yet to even answer my complaint; 8. Avoid at every cost! "

" I have used autoeurope before in other countries and always been pleased. This experience was well below the standard I have come to expect from autoeurope. I still feel I am owed £80 from being forced to take out additional excess insurance that I had already paid for. "

I declined this as I thought it was extortionate for a 1 litre car. After doing hundreds of miles it actually cost me £28 pounds to top the car up at a garage. When I finally paid the insurance I'd already paid for as I was told I had little choice, I was taken to a car that was dirty inside and out. There were numerous scratches too and a scuffed hub cap, which they tried to claim I had done when I returned the car. The inside had hand prints of sun tan cream all over and was in desperate need of a vacuuming. Fortunately I took photos of the car when I collected it, and was able to prove that I hadn't done the damage they were claiming. This process took a long time and almost made us late for our plane. I have used autoeurope before and been very pleased, however this experience was terrible. "

" I booked a Skoda Karoq (or equivalent), however I got a Dacia Duster, a car about half the price to purchase, and yet the rental cost was no cheaper, and in my opinion, not equivalent, having hired one previously. The tyre pressure warning light was on, but adised this was a sensor issue due to the heat, never went off, even when down to 20 degrees, and having checked the tyre pressures. Car had a number of dints / deep scratches on, so had to check very carefully, but have to say, the person checking the car with me was very good and efficient. The car worked fine, did 750km in it over a couple of days, just a bit disappointing it wasnt the Karoq. "

" Overall a positive experience, but it could have been very different. We arrived late in Dubrovnik, after a delay to our flight of in excess of 3 hours. When I arrived at the car hire office, they advised me that it was their policy to not hold a vehicle beyond one hour in peak season as they had no guarantee that I would have arrived to collect my car. Being a single adult, with two teenage children, fairly stressed after a long delay to our flight, this was not the news i wanted to hear. I am fortunate in that I speak Croatian, so could understand what they were saying to each other. Once they realised that I had children, they agreed with each other that they would allow me to take the car that I had hired (which was parked outside the office!) without any additional charge. I'm not complaining in general, as the overall experience was ok, but it did leave a bit of bad taste in my mouth that they would have most probably tried to charge me to hire the car again if I had been just travelling by myself. Not a great customer experience on collection. The drop off was without any problem at all. Just waiting to now make sure that the money blocked on my card for the duration of the hire period is fully returned! "

" All in all quite an unpleasant experience dealing with CARWIZ as it just felt like they were trying to charge people extra money. I certainly won't be using them again. "
" Arrived at the desk at approximately 20:45 and had to wait to be seen as their was a queue of people waiting. When we were seated it had exceeded 21:00 and we were immediately told that we would be charged a late arrival fee of €36 for arriving after 21:01 despite being held up in the queue for 15 minutes. " This is the 2nd time I have used Carwiz - last time all was fine - this time on return of car the agent said he had found a small scuff under the front LHS bumper and he charged me £392. That are of the car wasn't checked on pick-up as it was so obscure so I have no way of proving that the scuff was there on pick-up and therefore not my fault. I would like this charge refunded. "

" Upon drop off of the car, a small scratch was found underneath the front bumper which I was told I would have to pay for. The scratch was underneath the front of the car which I had not inspected but will do in future because of this experience. I have never had to inspect the underneath of a hire car before in my life. After a long stressful period the agent said that I didn't have to pay anything as it was covered on the insurance. Surely they could have checked this before wasting 30 minutes blaming me for something that was obviously there prior to my hiring the car but as I say l couldn't prove it as I don't normally inspect the underneath of a hire car. " I paid for a Peugeout 3008 or similar. Was given an X1 and was told because it was a BMW, i had to pay over £200 for the insurance which was obscene! I was then charged 75€ because i was going into Montenegro. I had read up on the charge to enter Montenegro and it could be done by paying 15€ at the border. Carwiz had a charge of 75€ in their small print though so i had to pay it or not be able to take the car! All in all i felt violated by Carwiz and would definitely not recommend using them as their charges are a con! "

When picking up the vehicle, there was no checklist of what I should have received, and I received: the receipt/invoice, the check on the car (i.e. damages, etc) and the keys. When dropping the car, I was told that I needed to return the car documents as well -- which I have not received in the first place. In the end, this con act costed us 320 Euros. I would definitely not rent from Carwiz again after this. "

" We had a major argument as I booked the car on my credit card - rafik taibjee, but my partner was the person doinghte driving. we have always been able to do this provided i sign to say i take responsibility for any breakages etc. the car company could not allow this, unless i paid £70 per day for dual drivers. This was a massive issue as i had car hire excess insurance which then became invalid too if I was not the principal named driver on hte rental agreement. I offered to be the principal dirver and forget my partner driving, but they aid they would have to cancel the entire booking then. the car was filthy on pick up and had rubbish in the car, and the windscreen wiper bottle was empty which is also hazardous "

" They give misleading information on your booking forms with the rental company. Which then leads you into a late arriving fee as soon as you land. The info on the paperwork will tell you the company is open all day umm wrong you will get a late fee any time after 9pm my original pick up time was 10pm but after a late flight arrived at 11:01 to be told it would be €50 late fee for being 1 minute late. My original booked time of pick up was 10pm but after a late flight arrived at 23:01 to be charged £45 by car Wiz for being late by 1 minute. Auto Europe states on the paperwork at carwiz is open all day. Regardless of the fact that I was late we would have still been charged a late fee on my original time of collection as they such at 9pm but once again auto Europe state on the paperwork they are open all day. Be wear of this company it feels like a con to make quick money out of you at the airport. The car I was given had alot more damage on it then first written down on the rental agreement. To which I was told don't worry we only look for the deep stuff. Umm no as another customer was being charged for a small underside mark. I would not recommend this company they seem like sharks "

" Arriving at the airport, there was nobody at the desk and I had to wait. A friendly rival person called them and after 5-10 minutes someone arrived. He said they keep the cars offsite not at the terminal as they claim in the booking. We drove to the offsite office 5 minutes away. The car was nice as reserved. I asked them to walk me round but they just said to look myself. On return, I had to find the offsite office again - not the airport drop off as advertised. There was no welcome really - just a bunch of young guys. I asked for help and they found someone to take the car back. There followed a very detailed inspection of the car and they found a scratch under the bumper (when I picked the car up, they made no attempt to tell me to look closely under the car!) They then asked for EUR115. I then had to wait for a ride back to the airport. The whole experience leads me to believe the leasing company that runs? Car Wizz has strict instructions to either get a top up insurance premium from drivers or to find a scratch. Certainly, this was one of the worst car hire experiences. At the least, you ned to tell hem to stop advertising airport pick yup and drop off. "
