I walked to the other stop with my family and all bags. Eventually a shuttle bus arrived - apparently the pick up point had been changed recently, but the instructions had not been updated. Overall, I had waited almost one hour to be picked up. "

My wife and I caught a shuttle which turned out to be for the wrong company and had to go back to the airport for the correct shuttle. All the instructions needed to say was to catch the yellow Centauro Minibus and everything would have been fine, instead we wasted an hour in extreme heat going back & forth. Your instructions could do with improvement, which is why I wouldn't recommend your company. "

Less good: They were very keen to sell us additional insurance, warning us that as the car was new, every little mark would be noticed and charged for. I thought this was likely untrue and a bit of a hard sell. I didn't buy their additional insurance. They gave us the keys to the car and pointed at a door to a garage and said "it's in there". There were only 3 cars in the garage and ours wasn't one of them. We went back into the office and they insisted the car was in the garage - they clearly thought we were numpties. When they finally found it in a corner of the car park, we got the impression that somehow this seemed to be our fault. Well, it was a very hot day and maybe they were all a bit frazzled. In the end one of the staff members helped us with our bags, we got the car and it was great. "

" There was insufficient information communicated from Auto Europe about the pick up location. The Auto Europe rental voucher referred to Terminal 1, so when we arrived at the airport we had to take the airport bus to Terminal 1. There was no Centauro desk at terminal 1 so we called them, to be told there was a shuttle bus to the office outside the airport, from Terminal 2. This obviously caused some confusion and delay to our onward journey and could easily be resolved with some simple and accurate instructions. "
" When we eventually found the office, the car we received was fine but the service light was on and we later discovered it had no screen wash. Further, the oil light came on when cold starting suggesting the oil was very low. We had asked for snow chains and were given a set. Only when we needed them did we discover that they were too small for the tires of the car. This meant we had to leave our destination early to prevent being snowed in. Centauro should provide a vehicle that is serviced, has the fluids topped up and snow chains that are suitable for the vehicle. "

" It seems you never get the vehicle you select when hiring, which is frustrating. A Renault Captur is not 'similar to' a Kia Ceed! It also seems, hire companies generally don't recognise third party 'fully comprehensive' insurance policies and, in the event of a claim, will take costs directly from the renter leaving them to reclaim through the third party. There is no guarantee that the hire company will co-operate with the third party insurer to ensure that claim is paid, so its very uncertain for the renter which is the best course of action. "

Car was not a Kia Ceed as selected, but a (larger) Renault Captur. I paid extra for AutoEurope's CDW, 'nothing to pay' insurance cover, but this is not recognised by Centauro, who stated in the event of an accident, I would be charged directly on my credit card. Centauro's full insurance cover would have more than doubled the hire cost (additional euros288!) It also seemed the AutoEurope cover was in fact just an excess insurance cover which I would have to claim back after the event and not 'no liability' cover while driving the car. I can get excess cover for £42. a year, so the AutoEurope cover is misleading and does not constitute good value. "

" I rent cars frequently, in a number of countries, and this was the first time I had ever rented a Centauro car. It was the worst experience with a rental car company I have ever had. I was charged €50 for getting the car back of the late (I had just received an email from the airline telling me that my flight had been canceled, so I needed to pull over and work on alternate travel arrangements, which explains why the car was a little bit late). Also, a member of the staff, a certain Verdiana, pointed out a minor scratch, and claimed that it was my fault. That is not at all certain, I drove the car very carefully and did not come into contact with anything. At any rate, she told me that the penalty was €350, and outrageous amount for a small scratch paint (that had no effect whatsoever on the car's body) which could be fixed with a quick splash of paint in a few minutes. I am outraged. "

" This is for Centauro at Catania Airport. Did quite a bit of research before choosing Centauro. While not the cheapest option available, their service more than made up for any difference. Collection, return and staff were all very efficient; no tedious up-selling of insurance and very quick return of excess deposit and fuel money deposit (of which they charge at the going market fuel rate instead of an inflated one, thereby minimising the financial worry of returning the car with a full tank). Caveating that Centauro in different countries may provide a different service,l level, I would recommend Centauro in Catania. PS: Better signage to where Centauro Catania is actually located would be desirable, did take us too long to find the location. "

So another 500m trek back....no transit van, so I did a tour of the car park over the road and spotted a yellow van parked up in the corner - I approached the driver and....yes, this was the Centauro van! The driver told me this was their usual pick up location but that Hire Car companies still insist on putting the incorrect details on the instructions to customers - I suggest you treat this issue with immediate effect. That said, the paperwork was clear and the price of the vehicle very competitive. "

My fault entirely for the damage, but the charge is extortion. "

When I mentioned this to the counter staff, she said there is a sign so its not their fault. I checked; the sign is amongst all the other car rental signs and is a roadsign designed for drivers not pedestrians. You need signage by the VIP Cars sign, designed for pedestrians. "

" After booking with some trepidation, as the Pick-up location was away from the main Airport facility, we were impressed to find that upon arriving at the Shuttle bus collection point, the Centauro bus arrived almost immediately to take us to their Vehicle Collection office. Obviously they monitor clients Flight Arrivals. Checking in was efficient and the Staff good natured and polite. Vehicle was in very good condition. The only concerns were; 1. The fuel tank was supplied half Full, to be returned half full, (not easy to estimate when refuelling). 2. Returning the vehicle to the Drop off point, during "rush hour", was slightly confusing due to the Drop off location. Staff efficient, the Contract was completed successfully. Would I book Centaur again? YES, most definitely! "

" Main problem was that I asked for a small car, but was given a large one. So it didn't fit in my parking space and had to be left on the road some way away, which was very inconvenient. The car itself, a VW T-ROC was a pain in the bum. It kept trying to stop me changing lanes by pushing back on the steering. It popped up messages that only stayed for seconds so you c couldn't read them. It also kept telling me to "stay in the middle of the lane", and also when to change gear - both of which must have been generated by a very simplistic algorithm when couldn't read the road 200 yards ahead. Not an ideal car for a hire car, when you don't have two hours to sit down and read thye manual before driving. Oh - and no hand brake - very worrying, as the automatic one did not always work. "

" They charged 40 euro extra because the plane arrived late, and "officially" their office would have been closed, but, as I arrived, another customer arrived as well, and they had nothing to pay extra. I think because they booked direct. Then, I found out that on Sunday 20th, the day of my flight back, their office would not have been open in time for me to catch the flight (official opening 7AM), so, they forced me to return the car on the Saturday evening and to spend a night at a rather squalid private room near the airport. When I dropped the car, they did not take me to the place where I was to sleep (again, within the confines of the airport area) but left me at about 200 m from my door, and did not offer any sort of an excuse or compensation. Those two extra expenses almost doubled my rental cost. i complained with the airport authority but they said that as Centauro operates outside their terminal it is not their problem. That is a meagre excuse, as Centauro appears under "Malpensa" if you search for them on their site, on yours or on any other internet search. And we also did a lot of driving on mountain roads where the fiat really struggled to find the power to get up the hills. These were things I had considered when choosing a vehicle. So I am quite disappointed that having booked a car they did not have it or even something similar for me to use. "

" A good all round service, the office and hire car are a shuttle bus ride outside the airport, but there are no signs at the airport to tell you this. Car very clean and tidy and no problems getting the cost of the full tank of fuel back, or having the 1,200 euro deposit unblocked. "

" Airport arrival arrangements are completely chaotic. If you are a nervous traveller who wants a seamless experience, this is not for you! No obvious details in the AE booking how to find Centauro (we followed the signs to the airport hire desks who waved us away and just said get a bus). A phone call to Centauro revealed an unclear instruction to hang around at Terminal 3 arrivals gate 1 (meaning unclear exit gate from the building) .. which literally means waiting amongst the pick-up-drop -off parked cars, not even on a clear curb and no marked or signed place for collection. After 20mins and 3 more calls the correct minibus came round (don't expect help with your luggage, it's self service) ..... but from this point on, everything worked brilliantly and we couldn't have been more satisfied !!!!! Then tried to give me an upgrade at an extra €26 a day. Then when I refused that, suddenly 2 minutes later the car SIZE ordered appeared. I had ordered a VW Polo, a Lancia Ypsilon was what I got. Utter piece of s##t, under powered and wallowy. They tried to scam me on return for a small mark that was below the the size they specify. They seem to be data harvesting email addresses saying the one they had of mine didn't work, but nor did the next one I gave them. I never got an email confirming the car was back and ok. I had to make the airport transfer driver sign to say the car had been accepted back in good condition and full of fuel. I felt the entire experience to be a rip off. "
