After an hour of searching, I ended up having to call an office in Lisbon only to discover that the rental was with a different company (Sur Price) and the office was a 10 minute drive away with a mini bus pick up I was never informed of. Had I known the car pickup was not at the airport, I would not have chosen to hire via your company. I now feel mislead by Auto Europe and I will never use your services again "

" When I went to pick up the car, they have just seen one scrape on the mirror on the right side. I thought was a bit strange, even thou the car was from 2017. When I went to drop of the car they seen one minor scrape and and a small dent in the car the same side, that on the time the pick up they seen the scrape. If the inspector didn't show me the dent, I wouldn't never seen that. And that wasn't my fault, that was not me. They most probably haven't seen or they didn't want to see the time of the pick up. Because of this I have paid 400€, disgraceful and disgusting! They robbed me!!! This prices are completely unfair especially when I'm almost sure the small dent wasn't my fault! I do have photos to prove how small it is and for me if someone didn't show me, I couldn't notice since I don't have an experience eye like them. What I want to say is, I couldnt notice that by time of the pick up, when for them is could quite useful to miss this, since the customer will pay outrageous fines. "

On this occasion we were very disappointed to be charged a €45 fee for picking up the car at 6.45pm when we had booked it for a 4.00pm pick-up. The counter staff claimed that it was a recognised 'late fee' even though there was no mention of such a condition in the rental agreement terms and conditions. We have made a formal complaint and initiated a claim for a refund. "

" No meet & greet at airport. Pick up is off airport approx 700m. Bit of a pain if you have luggage etc. First car offered was in reasonable condition but had no function aircon! Car offered as a replacement was a bit of a wreck! 68,000km & everyone of them showed. Front tyres nearly bald, underinflated, only 70% engine oil left, every panel marked, somewhat dirty interior. The near side windows appeared to have been grit blasted at some point as they were almost opaque. Overall not an experience I would like to repeat. At least the staff were helpful. "

" The vehicle provided was fairly new and clean. However, it was not until we were some way into the journey that we realised that the air-conditioning was not working. We only had the car for 3 days, so it was not a huge problem for us, though on one day it was particularly hot, and it was uncomfortable just relying on having the windows open. "

Most of the other companies had shuttle buses so we stood around looking for ours eventually a good English speaking person told us no shuttle you have to walk. " The main I took DRIVE&GO because it said its in the airport. I did not want to carry my large cases around. And the price was the best at the time. But BE AWARE they are not at the airport. You have to leave the airport and still walk for 7 minutes to get to it. I know its not long but when you have your suitases behind you, two kids, carseats, double pram and another adult - believe its not fun! AUTOEUROPE should look at this issue too. And prosecute the FRAUDSTERS "
" Fraudsters and scammers! Brought the car back after 5 days of driving and I been accused of damaging the vehicle. The chip on the windscreen - that never happened while I had the car. I been accused of damaging it. Also a side mirror was marked as damaged on the sheet but when I asked what is this - the receptionist just says "oh don't worry its nothing I only putting windscreen for replacement". I'been researching this company and seen I was not the only one who they tried to scam with chip, scratches etc. I don't understand how businesses like this still exist?! Drive&Go want to charge me £351.55 for replacement of the windscreen. Unbelievable how business like this still operates. I'm ready to go into court if needs be but they won't be scamming me. Website like AutoEurope should do something about scammers like them. " I feel this is no more than an insurance scam. I have used them twice and both times they discovered and charged for damage to the car that I did not do. Basically they know exactly where they are going to look to find a tiny scratch and charge you, which you have no choice but to pay. " There is one issue I would like to see added on the information provided to the customer. I have paid less that £11 to rent a car for 8 days. But with a deposit of £1,615.00. If anything would have happened with the car as far of an accident or vandalism I would have lost all or part of this deposit. Can Auto Europe please be so kind to have clear on the website the cost for partial deduction of the deposit (in this case was £80 for a deposit of £124) and the cost for no deposit. Nowhere in your website can be found the cost for the partial reduction of deposit that was offered to me at the counter. And I did not ask if there was a possibility to forfeit the deposit. When I have returned the car the process was also quick but I could not help but to hear a discussion between some employees at the counter that although not related with me left me wonder the lack of care in avoiding to have internal discussions and disagreements in front of customers. It does not look nice. I am Portuguese and I can understand the culture but these people need to understand that they should have these conversations and arguments and contra-arguments away from customers. "

Check out process was quick, car was new - no complaints, no hard upsell. Return was OK, car was scrutinized for any damage no matter how minor, this felt uncomfortable and unfriendly. " They gave me a brand new vehicle. Very nice The vehicle had an intermittent electrical fault. Sometimes it would not start. We asked the hotel receptionist and the hotel driver to try. They could not start the car. I phoned Drive and Go and asked for help. I passed my phone to the hotel driver who explained in Portuguese that the ignition system was dead. We came back 30 minutes later and the car started. We drove the car to the car park by the hotel reception (about 500 metres). I left the car and came back 5 minutes later and it wouldn't start. The hotel receptionist came out and tried to start the car - it wouldn't start - totally dead. She called Drive and Go for assistance - they said call the number on the papers. She called the number and some time later a breakdown van came. The car started this time. We (wife and I ) went back to Lisbon to Drive and Go to pick up a replacement. Subsequently, Drive and Go claimed there was no problem with the car and demanded we pay for the breakdown van. I asked the hotel receptionist to call and explain in Portuguese exactly what happened and to confirm there was a fault with the car. She did this and had a 'loud' argument over the phone with Drive and Go. When I returned the car, they insisted on payment of 130euros. To avoid unpleasantness I paid. However, I obviously have two serious observations about Drive and Go: 1 - I think they are unreasonable in that there were two independent witnesses that there was a problem with the car provided 2 - They put a faulty car back out to rental with another client. I find this astonishing and dangerous. I would not drive that car because I was concerned the electrics would fail on the motorway. I find the lack of care towards clients to be unforgivable. I can ask the hotel and probably get two independent witness statements to attest to the truth of this message. "

There was no pressure to take their own insurance - amazed - I've had stand-offs on this point in the past. Also offered an optional extra to pay tolls (pdagio) electronically for 9E. A couple of minor scuffs were picked up on return, which were not picked up when checking out the vehicle - they didn't pursue these. Best of all - I paid 38 Euro for 5 days for a mid-size hatch back (Fiat Tipo) almost brand new. All really pleasing "

They failed to pick us up at the airport (as promised) until called and then refused to modify the booking when there were problems with my credit card. They denied they had wifi access to help us try and resolve the issue by transferring funds online because they wanted us to pay a £184 deposit instead. My phone clearly showed wireless internet. They refused autoeurope's attempts to change the booking. And when we finally managed to organise deposit funds (five hours later) the car they gave us was awful. One tyre was completely bald, the handbrake didn't work and there was something clearly wrong with the power transmission because it lacked the power to drive up hills. Avoid! "
