" Had issues with the rental company (Drive) and never managed to pick up the reserved car. Even though we paid the Fully Flexible Cancellation premium, refund is taking way too long (20 days now and counting), and call-centre says they do not know when they will be able to refund. "

" Communication by Drive at Thessaloniki needs to be improved. Would help to give specific instructions where to meet the shuttle at the airport. Customer service is brusque. Car not best condition, high mileage, oil service warning kept flashing up (we emailed them and was told to ignore), many dents. "

" Our rental was from Thessaloniki airport. The only instructions we received were that we would be 'met at arrivals'. No one met us, waited around a while inside and outside, asked around and was advised to walk to the Drive office in the other terminal, asked around again and told there was a shuttle meeting point outside that all rental companies use. Walked back and after finding the local helpline number and calling we finally got picked up about a hour after arriving. Chaotic and disorganised! "

" Everything was good with Drive, however they had just moved to new premises, which we had a little difficulty finding, as we could not see any signs ( unlike other hirers ) to Drive. It's only 5-10 mins walk, but in the heat of the day, we had to ask in other hirer offices where they were. "

" Apart from the initial disappointing start, the hire car was very nice and the rest of the rental period passed without a problem. I dread to think what we would have faced had the car been damaged by a third party! "

" Major upset when collecting the car. My French credit/debit card was rejected by the counter staff becasue it was not a 'pure' credit card. He would not accept our UK credit card in my wife's name, despite mine (which I did not have with me) being exactly the same number, unless we paid for her to be an additional driver. He threatened to immediately cancel the booking. Thoroughly fed up by this point, we paid the additional €84 in order to get on with our holiday. This started us off on a very sour note. "

" The car was perfectly clean inside when we dropped it off but the member of staff said the car wasn't clean enough. She was rude and unhelpful and spoiled the experience of hiring a car from Drive. Charging €25 to clean the inside of the car when it's already perfectly clean is just an unnecessary rip-off. "

" Drive were Very bad. Lots of hassle with the man on the desk when I pick the car up but kindly sorted out Autoeurop. The car was tatty high kilometres and cigarette burns on seat. When I returned the car the same man said it had a ver small dint on the door and I had to pay 330 euro I explained it was like that when I pick it up he then said ok 186 euro or I won't refund your 930 euro deposit. As I was about to catch my flight I had no choice but to pay it. I tried to complain to autoeurop but your lines were closed. I will make a formal complaint "

" Difficult to find where to get the shuttle bus from athens airport to the car rental - instructions for pickup need to be clearer. Other than that quick and straightforward pick up and drop off. Drivel presented the option of paying an extra £60 to be fully insured against windows, tyres, accidents etc,. which was very annoying considering we already paid extra to be covered for these things via autoeurope. So essentially we paid for cover twice as the cover purchased via autoeurope was basically void "

" It's been a very upsetting experience. Drive is the worst company we came across in 20 years of renting cars in Europe. We arrived at night and they asked us to take a photo of any scratches using the phone tourch! There were 4 scrarches but the 5 th one we didn't notice and they didn't mark it. The scrarch was small and on the black front bumper on a plastic. Obviously we couldn't have seen it in the dark! Fansy enough when we returned the car, they told us that WE DAMAGED the car and made us pay €312 euro+€62 admin fee - that's actually a cost of change of the whole bumper( "

" The counter staff were responsive and eager to resolve any problem. I would always recommend taking out the full insurance package with a car rental to avoid having to worry about any damage, especially considering the road conditions and type of driving in the more rural parts of Greece. "

" The whole booking process through to collecting the car was great, until I drove the car to find it was not safe to drive due to a significant vibration caused by the alignment or damage to the wheels. I returned the car explaining the problem, and was given a replacement vehicle straight away. "

" No comments and just to say we have been using AutoEurope for a long time. "

" When we picked up the car, the form filling was slow and we weren't made clear about taking on the extra 15Euro/day full insurance cover, and had to make a credit card payment of 950 Euro which wasn't blocked by actually charged to the card. When we returned the car, we felt that they looked over the car for every detail to try to charge us for damage. They identified some grass cuttings that were embedded into the lower bumper spoiler and blame us for going off-road rough, which we didn't. The roadside verges are indeed rough in Crete and must have caught some mounds of grass when we parked. There was no damage to the spoiler at all. Then they indicated that one side of the rear bumper was bugling and said we must have hit something, although there were no marks, and we did not hit anything, It's just the bumper on the Aygo is very flexible. Lastly they managed to find two light scratches along the passenger side doors, covering both doors. We are not sure how they were made, and they were so light that a little wax polish would have cleared it up, but they insisted to charge us 185Euro per panel which came to over 360 Euro for this very light scratch. Unbelievable. We could not recommend Drive. "

" Stop advertising cars that the bike company does not have in stock! I only booked this car as I thought I'd be getting a Toyota aygo, Instead I got an old Kia. I know it says 'or similar' but after asking Drive upon arrival I was told they don't even have this car in their fleet there. I would prefer to pay more and get the car I want rather have such an unpleasant surprise when it's late to do anything. Quite disappointed.. "

" Firstly they tried to pressure us to buy further insurance even though we had paid full cover insurance. They tried to say as the credit card was in my name rather than my husband's that it wasn't acceptable so we had to have insurance. I asked them to add me as a driver in that case. There were literally hundreds of scratches and scrapes in the car, we picked up the car in the dark and they gave us a light. The box to annotate marks on the car was tiny and not large enough to capture everything. If we hadn't taken expensive photographs upon correction they wanted to try and claim we had scratched across 2 doors. I definitely would not recommend Drive. "

" Significant aesthetic damage to car when handed to me. Whilst this was noted as best it could be on the condition report it is always a worry that the company might try to charge. They didn't, but it was still a worry. Clearly, they have charged lots of other people for damage but not carried out the repairs which seems unfair. "

" Would recommend not hiring their most basic car. But have only compliments for staff, transfers and ease of booking. Despite being told was fully insured when booking, was told I should take out further insurance for the week, costing another €50! "

Had obviously had a front impact at some point. Very underpowered, had to turn off A/C to get up a hill. Drop off was very good, quick and without delay. "

" Poor experience not helped by not very helpful call centre staff (first staff member). The second member of your team was very good but I shouldn't of had to call a second time to get the issue resolved. "

" We arrived at the airport and there was no one there to greet us. I called Auto Europe to see what was going on and the call centre person had no clue and was very unhelpful. I hung up and called again and the chap I spoke to contacted Drive. Their driver had gone to the wrong area of the airport. Eventually after a very stressful period of time we (my wife, my two children and I)finally went to Drive. The car was a micra not the Peugeot 306 or similar as expected. The car was scratched and not a good representation of a good business or the money I'd paid. I questioned this and was told that's all they had. I decided not to argue as it had been a long enough day as it was. On arriving at our destination the car wouldn't lock via the fob so we had to manually lock each door individually as the key wouldn't lock all the doors either. The boot was unlocked for the two week period. I called Drive (day 2) and they were not interested, stating they had no alternative cars. They did say I could take the car to the nearest garage to be sorted out but I didn't feel that this was my responsibility. "

" On return, staff pointed out a slight scuff to a wheel trim which they had not marked before we took the vehicle away. Fortunately we had photographed all marks before we left so could prove it was there before. We had just travelled from the UK, starting at 2 am and so we were not at our most alert when picking the car up otherwise would have noticed the omission on the form. Other car hire firms have ignored slight damage to wheel trims so we only photographed them as extra security. I'm glad we did. I felt as though it was an attempt to rip us off and it spoilt what was otherwise a good experience. "

" Not very impressed with the €20 charge to go on a ferry. Totally held to ransome, if we didn't pay it, we couldn't go on holiday! Not all rental companies charge for it, but europcar do, and this rental ended up being through europcar. So comparing the prices online, and coming up with the "cheapest" isn't necessarily correct, with a hidden charge! "

" I booked the car with a pick up time of 10pm, our flight was not delayed or early and the drive team were late to pick us up from the airport then when hiring the car we were required to pay an additional charge of 24 euros due to late pick up. We were very disappointed with the condition of the car. It was scratched and had lots of cosmetic damage. It wasn't very clean and nothing like the picture shown on the website. "
