Driving Licence Requirements

The driving licence requirements in Venezuela state that you must have a full driving licence that is valid in your country of residence. You will also need an international drivers license.

Age Restrictions

To be able to pick up a car in Venezuela, you must be at least 21 years old (age may vary by car category) and have held your license for one year. Drivers under the age of 25 may incur a young driver surcharge.

Road Rules and Petrol Stations

• Drivers are to carry at all times while driving, a valid driver's licence, registration documents and insurance documents.

• Petrol stations in Venezuela generally open from 6am to 10pm, something to bear in mind that petrol station pump attendants will expect a tip!

There are no road tolls in Venezuela.

You will have no problem finding car parks in the cities and towns, making parking your car in Caracas simple!

One-Way Car Hire

Domestic one-way car rentals within Venezuela are possible. Some restrictions and charges do apply. International one-way car hire is not permitted.
