We were informed that we had received an upgrade on our choice of vehicle at no additional cost - the car provided was slightly larger than we expected. Whilst the car was very comfortable, we found that it would occasionally stick in gear at very low speeds - the only way to release the gear was for the car to be declutched and the ignition switched off. " Flight delayed by 3 hours so we were worried office may have been closed on arrival. However member of staff was in due to having to respond to accident. We were charged an additional fee for out of hours pick up but if not for the accident there would have been no one there and we would not have been able to pick up car. I can understand a fee if someone needed to come in just for us, but that was not the case, there was another car being picked up as we arrived. Also received a email invoice in Greek after drop off requesting same amount we had already paid on pickup(additional fee), confusing and already past security so unable to query. "

I forgot my own windscreen mobile-phone base and reported it to lost&found within 30 mins (post security control at the airport); I was promised to be contacted within 1hrs without any response despite my 3hrs wait. I contacted again Enterprise 2 days later but cannot get through the line to the Airport depot despite several attempts (more than 15 phone-calls). HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED !! 3. One of the doors could not open from the outside - HIGHLY inconvenient - someone would expect that such things would be standard checked ! "

Very unprofessional look for a businessman (video at the pick up is available on request. ) 2) Wipers were teared and the windscreen was not cleaning properly! This was very annoying as well as dangerous (photo available on request). The drop off process was also annoying: I was about to deliver the car at 09:00 am. However another car had blocked me at the parking and I had to wait for assistance. During waiting, I had called and notifying the drop off counter staff on this. I explained the Force Majeure. They told me there is no problem off course. I arrived 10:10 am. The counter staff attempted and persisted to obtain extra payment for this delay - which was not my fault. I had to refuse to pay extra and asked them to notify the company. By the way, I received the car with 4/8 fuel and I returned it with 5.5/8 fuel. I did not ask anything for it off coucse - but the counter staff could have appreciated this. "

" Our flight to Corfu was a hour delayed landing at 21.50 instead of 20.50. We got to the Enterprise desk at 22.15 to find that it had closed at 22.00 despite them having our flight number and therefore being able to see that we had landed at the airport. We were left with no option but to pay €60 to get a taxi to our accommodation. We then had to spend the first day of our holiday traveling back to the airport to collect our hire car. This cost us another €60 leaving us €120 out of pocket. Furthermore, when we returned the car there was only one person working trying to deal with all the returns and collections. It took approximately 40 minutes to return our hire car and caused us to nearly miss our flight. We hire cars fairly regularly and this was the worst experience I have had. "

First the cost you had good prices for the car hire also the available insurance backup on offer for the car hire. Easy straitforward booking process and almost immediate confirmation was great. We would consider booking through your company again as we felt safe that if there were any problems with the car hire that you would have helped resolve them. The only minor issue we had was when we contacted the help desk out of hours, although we spoke to someone they could not help us change the pickup time of the car. It was within the 48 hours of pickup and as we were not flying in to Athens we could not give alternative flight details to enable the assistant to pass to the Enterprise team to inform them of the request for a later time to pick up the car ( we were already in Athens and had booked the car hire for the later part of our trip and so had arranged for an airport pickup to make it easier to drop of for our departure from Greece- we wanted to pick the car up later in the day but in the end we picked up the car as originaly booked by us.) He was also the same on our return, gave a professional and friendly servive and we examined the car together again. A full report was sent to me via email both for the initial check and the final check after they occured. The car was excellent, clean inside, spacious, what we had paid for and with only very minor damage to body work. We had a very comfortable ride in it for the rest of our holiday. We are very happy with the car we received and the service from the Enterprise Staff. "

" The companies deal with pre-booked orders , they know the workload , there should be appropriate staff planning to accommodate . The system is hugely inefficient. Having cars not fully fuelled is hugely irritating, as it is almost impossible to get the correct amount in on return . Hence , the company wins either way - charging extortionate rates for fuel top up or receiving "free fuel". Failing to provide a car with a functional spare tyre is unacceptable as is supplying a vehicle with an engine fault. Again the individuals whom I met and spoke to were friendly , professional and as helpful as they could have been. I would like to take my complaint further "
" On arrival to Heraklion, I queued for over an hour . There was one person on the desk only. There was another wait when I arrived at the car depot . The car appeared in relatively good condition , but the interior showed signs of wear ( loss of the covering near the hand brake ). The car was 3/4 full of fuel . The car had little power on the first journey and the diesel management warning light appeared prompting prolonged telephone dialogue with the company. When I refuelled the car the first time . The warning light went out and the car drove much better ( making me wonder whether a previous user had used the incorrect fuel ). On return to the airport , there was a puncture , the spare tyre was flat and we were stranded at the roadside . Had we not forced the issue and flagged down a taxi , we would have missed our flight . We were reimbursed for the taxi but only 30 of the 35 euros. The people I dealt with were all very pleasant and actually sympathetic and as helpful as they could be . I think they were let down by their infrastructure "

Enterprise arranged to have the car collected from our villa (which was in the middle of nowhere) but didn't give us a replacement car so we were left stranded in our villa with no way of getting to the next village to get water or supplies. I was unable to get through to Enterprise at the airport in Athens so had to phone the uk branch and they put me through to the Athens depot. They then arranged for a car for us to collect but at Kalamata airport. We had to get a taxi, which cost us 65 euros and was a round trip of 2 hrs. We lost a whole day of our break trying to sort this out and it was very stressful. "

'Full to full' fuel policy was advertised and was a critical reason for choosing Enterprise as I was unsure of my likely mileage / fuel usage. Had to wait some time for outside staff to come onto the lot, despite there being no other customers - annoying delay as it was late and we had an hour's drive ahead. Staff was then efficient in recording the car's condition and pointing out fuel was only 1 out of 8 bars (ie. empty). This is a major divergence from Enterprise's stated policy and a significant negative in our experience with the company: it suggests dishonest practice, causes unnecessary inconvenience to the weary traveller, and is a failure in good trustworthy customer service. Return procedure quick and painless except for lack of directional signage and overcrowded return bay. "

" This year not using Enterprise we booked through Auto Europe , only to find we are back at the Enterprise desk . This time it just so happened my wife had brought the card it was booked on , but low and be hold it is a debit card and not accepted so we were stiffed another 50 euros but you could take that off the debit card . I do not possess a credit card , you will say it's on the paper work , yes a one liner in the small print after I have paid with my debit card . I am not happy , and I know it will not make a toss of difference to your company , but I will not use you again . "

" The receptionist on collection named Pita was very helpful and supportive. However the office was not staffed and the vehicle return process was clumsy. I arrived 1.5 hrs earlier than planned to find empty office. The lady who received the car back failed to process any paperwork for me simply saying all was in order. The car - though it was adequate, the front tyres were under inflated which concerned me. The car was a basic model that had been used extensively, although being fair, it was clean. The vehicle wa supplied 5/8 full of fuel unlike the agreed 8/8 though I was told to bring it back same quantity of fuel. In summary compared to competitor hire companies, I felt Enterprise are not serious players in this market. "

I understand there was a crash on the island involving an Enterprise hire car, so I do appreciate this was outside of the staffs control. However, when we did finally get our car it was not in satisfactory condition: it was very dirty, various scratches, the air con did not work fully and on the last day of hire the acceleration became very temperamental - we had to turn the air con off completely to get any power. We did not call Enterprise as it was the last day and we were taking it back anyway. Once we turned the air con off and started/re-started the engine it seemed to drive okay, but I do not expect these issues with a hire car - it should be hired to us in mechanically working order. " There was only 1 person in front of me at the desk but it still took 30+ minutes to collect the pre-booked car. Whilst the car itself was in good condition, according to the fuel policy it should have been supplied with a full tank of fuel, instead the fuel light was illuminated and the tank was almost empty. I paid €60 at the nearest petrol station to fill the tank and when I returned the vehicle at the end of the hire, it still contained almost half a tank of fuel. When I returned the car, the desk attendant said he was not authorised to sign my copy of the hire contract to confirm it had been returned without damage even though a joint visual inspection indicated that none had occurred. He rang "his boss" when I complained and I was told that his boss would not be coming to the airport and that I would have to trust the attendant's verbal assurance that all was OK. The car performed well during the hire period. "

" The jeep was cleanish but had too many scratches scrapes etc. So nothing was put on the hire form. The passenger door had a large panel missing completely! The form said 1/8 tank of fuel but the light came in within 10km. The engine warning light came on on the second day. I tooking it to the rental office who sald it was because it was being driven at too low revs and not to worry as it would go out when driving at normal speeds. It didn't ever go out. They also said to check the car manual. I did, it was all in Greek!!! The gears were also a bit difficult to engage. Possibly a clutch issue. Despite all that the jeep was reliable and did all that was required of it. "

The wiper blades did not clear the screen during cleaning, you see very little rain in Crete, if any, but even so they did not function as they should. For a car that has only done 58,000 miles the engine had a measured reduction in power when accelerating in 3rd and 4th gear to a point where it was wasting fuel asking the engine to accelerate, fuel economy was therefore greatly reduced because of this. " The service was fine but the car was appalling. It had obviously been in a bad accident and the front of the car was bolted on to the body. We had quite long journeys to do. At the start,no problem but on the journey back the patch job they had done started to fail and part of the underside started to rub against the wheels. We had a 350k journey to do and we couldn't go faster than 80 kph. Luckily we had allowed plenty of time so we caught our flight but the car felt very unsafe. Once enterprise confirmed that we had returned the car in good condition (!) we told them that they must not let anyone else have the car. "

However, the remote locking for the car didn't work, and the handbrake struggled on some of Kefalonia's steep roads. Also, I had to ask for a map of the island when collecting the car. I was not pleased though because the fuel tank was not full when I collected the car which led to an unnecessary disagreement regarding the amount of fuel when the car was returned; i.e. the fuel indicator when I got the car was between 4/8 and 5/8 (but they recorded 5/8), I refueled the car just before returning it to the same level but they claimed that it was not 5/8, I am still not sure whether they will charge me for this. There was no attempt to walk through the existing damage to car and attendant said he would be there to receive key but was not and we had to post the key which was not obvious. (Given we paid an additional 27 for out of hours service payment locally this was poor). " I arrived midnight Saturday-Sunday. Staff at Athens airport desk was very polite but the company is disorganised. There was none to show me where the car was. As a result I spent over 1+1/2 hours, in the cold, heavy rain, and dark, at the airport trying to locate and collect the car. The car itself was not great (no petrol, clutch slipping, noise from a loose exhaust?) but it worked well to the end. I returned the car at their Athens Depot. Again, the staff very polite and ready to help. "
