" As mentioned above, our main issue was discovering that we were dealing with Locauto, not Enterprise, despite booking through Enterprise. Had we known, we would have booked directly with Locauto, which was listed at a lower price on your website. Why list these companies separately if they are essentially the same booking? "
" Upon collecting our pre-reserved vehicle from Milan Linate Airport, we were surprised to find we were renting from Locauto, not Enterprise as expected. Had we been aware of this, we would have booked with Locauto, which was cheaper on the Auto Europe website. Despite arriving on time, we were told the car was still being cleaned, and were shown to a different car. While the vehicle provided wasn't the one we originally reserved, it was suitable for our needs. Unfortunately, the real issues began once we were on the road. En route to our hotel, a warning light for the AdBlue system came on. Never having dealt with AdBlue in the past, this caused significant confusion and frustration, requiring us to research the issue once we got to the hotel and find a solution at a petrol station, which disrupted our plans. In the meantime, two more warning lights appeared - a sensor issue and an engine warning light. While the sensor light was intermittent, the engine warning was very concerning, adding stress to our holiday. We immediately contacted Locauto to report the issue and were informed the car needed to be replaced. After providing our location, which was nearly 300km away from Milan, we received no further communication. We were left with a potentially unsafe vehicle and were nervous about exploring the area as planned. As our return date approached, we followed up with Locauto to ask if we could safely drive the car back to Linate Airport given the engine warning. Yet again, we were met with complete silence. The total lack of communication and support was not only inconvenient but also potentially unsafe, creating undue stress and impacting the enjoyment of our holiday. "

The Enterprise lady asked if I wanted Sat Nav. I told her that I had paid an upgraded price to ensure that there was Sat Nav as standard on the car. She told me I had to pay to use it or use my phone for navigation purposes. I wanted to use what was on the car. Was she going to disable it? Anyway, she charged me around €90 for the period I had the car for the use of a Sat Nav system already in the car. Very annoying & clearly a rip off. "

" The car was a Ford Diesel which requires an additive called AdBlue on top of the fuel. This additive was not refilled and the warming light went on from the beginning of tge hire. The road side assistance didn't pick up the phone on the weekend. We finally made it to the gas station on Sunday when the engine would not start before refilling the additive. Fortunately the petrol station carried it. They charge an extra 38 EUR for that. I am now arguing with customer support of LocAuto (their local contractor) to get this amount back. I was told by the staff at the return I need to provide a receipt which states "AdBlue" explicitly which mine does not. Extremely unpleasant experience. "

Having read these reviews were very concerned about what claims and charges might be tried on when we returned the car. Thirdly, the Golf we eventually took had a lot of scratches and dents. We were emailed a document showing these just before pickup but also spotted some extras on pickup that we were told had been noted and we would be emailed a new updated copy. No such email has ever arrived. The original emailed document also shows an excess of 1700Euro which they verbally confirmed was a mistake and that the zero excess we had paid for would be shown on the updated version (that never came). Fourthly, at both pickup and drop-off we were asked to electronically sign documents. At the point you do this you have no idea what you are actually signing because you just get a tablet thrust in front of you and all you can see is a blank box on the screen where you scribble your signature. This is very disconcerting. These experiences made this particular car hire experience very stressful. We ended up having to take lots of pictures of the car on pickup and drop-off and just hope we hadn't signed for anything we wouldn't have agreed with. We did at one point eMail AutoEurope with our concerns on the relevant email address for rental support but just got a stock response asking us to fill in a form. " I called Auto Europe prior to returning the hire car earlier than planned (16 days earlier), and was advised that no refund would be possible from Auto Europe, however it was possible that Enterprise (or is it Locauto) may offer some form of credit note. Unfortunately the experience of dropping the car off was so shocking, that I did not request a credit note. Indeed, by returning the car early, Locauto effectively had the car available to them for a further 16 days before the next possible scheduled hire. To date, neither Locauto (or is it Enterprise), or Auto Europe have offered any form of credit for unused hire days. "

We took care of the car as if it were our own during our stay in Tuscany, that had to be shortened owing to Government policy changes concerning Covid-19. The car appeared to be in good condition for drop off, however the 'Locauto' representative identified two or three very small micro surface chips on the windscreen, only visible if looking at about 10 cm from the windscreen. The Locauto representative specified that the damage was caused during our hire because they would never hire out a vehicle with this damage, as it would be unsafe to do so. (the surface spot chips were less than 1mm if that). The windscreen would have to be replaced, and my account would be charged for the replacement, approximately 500 euros. I protested that I could not have been reasonably expected to inspect the car at the level the representative completed the inspection, and that I was therefore not satisfied that the car was damaged during my hire. Indeed, another customer awaiting their turn to drop off their hire car made attempts to advise the Locauto representative that the type of damage that she was insisting necessitated a windscreen replacement should only need a spot repair solution if at all. It certainly did not warrant a new windscreen. On a positive note, the customer service department subsequently handled my concern in a timely manner, however they were unwilling to shift from the position taken by the Locauto representative at Pisa Airport. I subsequently reviewed Locauto Pisa Airport via web forums to discover that Enterprise had taken over Locauto last year, and that the Locauto customer handling of drop off that I experienced at Pisa Airport was not unique. When I elected to use Auto Europe, it was due to their involvement with Enterprise. I would not have chosen to hire a car from a local or domestic only car hire company. I have hired many cars for short stays in Europe and the US, and I can only offer that this is easily the worse case of customer handling I have ever experienced. It makes it even more concerning that there appears to be a history of this type of very small claimed damage resulting in hefty damage claims by Locauto Pisa Car Hire. The Pisa Airport Locauto experience was so negative - it damaged the overall outcome of what was a wonderful time in Italy. "

" I wish I could comment on my experience with Entreprise, but that will be quite impossible since the company I rented from was, to my great surprise once I got to the rental desk, Locauto Rent Spa, which I assume is running Entreprise (as well as a couple of other rental brands) under a franchise agreement. I specifically went for a known brand name on your website. You told me I was renting from Entreprise, but I wasn't. The experience with Locauto was the worst I have ever had. Basically everything went well until, guess what, when we bring the car back, abracadabra, the staff inspecting the car find the smaller, most insignificant dent you could ever imagine. Absolutely invisible, unless you look at a specific angle, with a specific luminosity and with your nose practically stuck on the car. Within hours they send me an email claiming €404 for the damage. I spent the next 48h in mental hell during which I sent them an email explaining how it is strictly impossible I caused the damage (of which I am certain due to where I parked) during the two days of the rental, and with photos as evidence that the damage was as good as invisible. Thank god they dropped the claim. There is a risk there're running a scam and quite happily charging as many people as possible. Many customers won't try to argue and simply pay. There are a lot of absolutely dreadful reviews about Locauto on Trust Pilot. How can you allow rentals from such a poorly rated company on your website, a company that is potentially scamming customers? "

" I booked an Enterprise car via Auto Europe. The rental car we were given was from Lacauto. I avoided booking with Lacauto because of poor reviews. I only realised this when I received email confirmation after leaving the airport as they use the same desk as Enterprise. Lacauto cars are consistently cheaper on the Auto Europe website than Enterprise. I wanted to go with Enterprise because they are a known name nationally in car rental. The Lacauto car had not been valeted before we picked it up, there was dust on the dashboard. Only when I left the Autostrade and drove into the hills of Chianti into direct sunlight did I realise how dirty the inside of the windscreen was. It was difficult to get a clear view out of the windscreen. I had to clean the windscreen myself once we arrived at our accommodation. We mentioned all of this when we returned the car. The representative of Lacauto merely issued an apology. My low marks for Enterprise are purely because we didn't have an Enterprise car, so I find it difficult to judge them. "

" On 1 September our flight was cancelled by EasyJet about 2 hours before departure. This was due to the systems problems with French air traffic control. We attempted to contact enterprise customer services and enterprise in Pisa but customer services were closed and no one answered the phone at the Pisa desk. We were able to speak to Auto Europe to let them that the flight was cancelled and we had a another flight the following day so we would collect the car on 2 Sept. Auto Europe said that Enterprise would treat this as a no show and have a no refund policy as it was within 48 hours. I explained it was out of our control and we were contacting them to let them know we still want the car. There was no sympathy or care and they insisted we had to pay again for the car "

Having queued for a long time at the desk (20 minutes?) was told that the car seats I had ordered for my 1 and 4 year old children were unavailable, as they had been given out to other customers who had not ordered them but requested on the day. Was left with a baby and young daughter to have to travel to a shopping mall and buy two car seats - I do not speak Italian, had lots of bags, had two hungry tired children. The man on the desk (Roberto) said to me word for word ... "it's not my problem" and until I asked him to did not even apologise or offer solutions. Seriously - how hard is it to provide car seats that have been ordered and is it really reasonable to expect a young family to change all plans and spend 3 hours in a new city purchasing car seats. When we eventually got to the car it was filthy, particularly on the inside, to the point we ended up given the whole thing a wipe down as it was really not pleasant. It really wasn't a nice start to our holiday. The lady was very derogatory of Auto Europe and made me out to be some kind of crook for not booking directly with enterprise as it's made her job harder and given me fewer options. "

However, I was extremely please on collection when the staff upgraded our vehicle to a larger car due to our luggage, at no extra expense. This was a lovely touch. I feel this is a rip-off because the car already had a scratch on one of the other wheels so I know you won't repair the wheel and it won't detract from future rentals so Enterprise has suffered no loss yet you have charged me extra for using the car in a normal manner. After going as quick as possible with family of 4, I was presented with tablet screen to sign for the car, no opportunity to inspect vehivle and given car keys with no more explanation (in the dark) and pointed in direction to drive. The driving experience was not like a Golf?! At first light, I inspected car and took photos of the numerous marks (6 in all) and reported these by phone to enterprise desk and also mentioned car not like a golf and asked for something else. I also mentioned that it did seemed unusually noisey at times, but they said that was bot a problem and to consider that I was 'only hiring the car and not buying it?!' I said I would see how it goes and report back, and did phone again. I drove back to airport also to mention and get an actual copy of the car's condition at point of hiring. This printed sheet accounted for all the marks I noticed. In summary, not happy with the similar car and it not being a Golf which specofically booked as am familiar with, not happy that we were rushed through without seeing car's condition and tgat not explained and no other information, and that I had to go and get that information and printout to allay worries and concerns. Not a great car hire experience, especially at the expensive price. "

In the dead of night (with luggage and tired children), with no information I had to find the Hire Car Office at the far end of the airport, up three floors and, when i got there, the car park was dark and all the offices were closed! But when I got to the car hire pickup I was offered a Renault Clio estate or a Opal Mocca. Neither car would suit my needs.! I finally ended up with a Seat Ibiza, with a one litre engine! Also a car in a group or two below what I had ordered and PAID FOR! When I booked the car I took out the full insurance cover, at great expense. But when I picked up the car, I was sold extra insurance for road side assistance. The office would not waive the cost of this, nor refund me the difference between the two car group price difference. Where the market is full of car hire companies. I would have expected better service than what I received. Especially as it is a quiet time of the year for car hire companies! "

" I had great difficulty picking up the car as the staff were confused by my driving license and initially refused to honour my rental agreement. They eventually realised they had made a mistake and agreed to rent a car. They then insisted on a 2000 euro debit against my credit card for possible damage which I have not yet had returned. When I returned the car the Enterprise office was closed but a very unhelpful lady eventually turned up. she refused to check the car over unless I waited until I would have missed my flight. I use Enterprise in the UK and the are the complete opposite of their Italian counterparts being helpful and efficient. "

" Enterprise & Locauto are the same company in Oblia so don't pay more for Enterprise thinking its safer to go for an International firm. The service was okay however spoke poor English and were slow.This slowness was generally as everyone who went up was told about expensive excess charges and to cover themselves could pay for a zero access package, but from what I heard they were being quoted 300 to 400 for. Otherwise they took a swipe of your credit card to cover potential damage of around 1800. If you didn't have sufficient credit you were forced into taking the zero excess package. I had pad for zero excess at home but they still tried to charge me for a package to cover tyres, glass & undercarrage which I refused. Beware! "
