" Cheaper companies with cross Border charges available which can really double your car hire cost Beware "
" Counter staff & returns staff were all very professional and helpful. Car itself was in great condition and lovely to drive The reason for such a low score was due to the excessive cross border charges that Europcar has. Compared to every other car hire firm in Belfast we paid 40% more which was very disappointing "

" We have used Auto Europe on many occasions and have always been satisfied but on this occasion we felt let down. This was our first booking with Euro car. Unfortunately we will never book with them in Belfast again due the extra charge for crossing the border. Which I explained previously that it should be made clear when making a booking. "
" When picking the vehicle up . I was asked if we were going to cross over the border to the Republic of Ireland. I said yes. They then informed me that would be another £157-50 . I asked why it was so much as Hertz (who me usually use) only charge £25-00. To which they informed me that we have to pay for breakdown cover and insurance. As the have no franchise in the South of Ireland so the would have to send someone out if we were to have a problem with the car. I reluctantly paid this charge. I think this should shown and explained when you are making a booking from any Belfast airports "

" Very disappointing, the fee was not justified. Additional fees should be indicated during the initial search, otherwise the price quoted is not a fair indication of cost. "
" I had to pay £107 for the cross border fee, sold as including breakdown cover. All the other hire companies offer the same and charge £25. There was no indication of charge at booking stage. Staff said that they hear the same every day. "

" Car was decent, speed displayed in Mileage as needed in Northern Ireland unlike Hetz giving out cars displaying speed in KM! Unfortunately this car was the first in about 10 years that didnt support Android Auto which enables using the phones maps for navigation, then the car didnt have its own maps, very disappointing! "

" See 3 above. I had an awful experience. "
" I arrived at the Europcar desk at Belfast City airport at 8pm on 8 Sep to find it completely closed. I received a confirmation email on 7 Sep. I immediately opened the new email that I had received that day on 8 Sep, which I thought confirmed my booking, to find that it actually told me that my booking had been cancelled because the desk closed at 7pm. This is appalling service. Luckily I was able to book a car from one of the other desks, that were all still open. They told me that they all laugh at the Europcar desk with your inadequate customer service and early closing hours. Get a grip! "

" Expensive but no more so than other companies. The car was quite badly scratched and dented but was clean and drove smoothly. The rep on the desk was quite pushy about paying for excess cover even though we already had that. The Europcar (and other hire company) car hire area at Aldergrove is very bad looking - lots of cigarette ends scattered around, old wire fences, rutted and potholed road. Even a few minutes to sweep up the rubbish would look more professional. "

" Car not available at agreed pick up time, asked to have a coffee and wait with no offer to pay for the drink. After 20 mins car available but not what we had ordered ( understand this can happen though ). Worst issue all fabric areas on doors filthy with hand grease, sun visor passenger side filthy again hand grease. Interior of vehicle smelt very musty/ dirty so we stopped at the first supermarket we saw to buy a car air freshener, this helped a lot and maybe you should place one in all cars before handover. I could of course refused the car and requested another but we were desperate to get to our destination without further delays. I must add that despite the issues mentioned your staff were polite and courteous from reception to collection and return. "

" We arrived to pick up the car and were informed that we needed to pay a £240 young driver surcharge. As I am 25 I was very shocked as throughout the online checkout journey this was not at all clear or flagged that this was due, despite entering my age at the beginning. The final checkout section with 'amount due at property' only showed a road tax value - this is incredibly deceiving and we ended up leaving the car and not picking it up. I would like to request a full refund as I paid for a service I never received. "

" Deceitful company! "
" Extremely poor. Having booked the rental online, I was asked at the terminal on pick up if I would like to take out the additional insurance. I have always previously declined, but the rep said it was only £7.32 per day and would reduce my excess from £1400 to £300. On this occasion and due to the low cost decided to take up the offer. A total of £36.60 for 5 days. I queried on the rental agreement before signing, the figure of £278.76 to be charged. I was informed that this was only a standard pre authorisation figure and that I would only be charged the £110 rental fee plus additional £36.60. I returned the vehicle fully refuelled and with no additional damage. I then received an invoice for £278.76 that include a fee of £129.15 Premium Protection Package. I have contacted Europcar by phone and E Mail to obtain a refund of £92.55 as I did not agree or ask for this Premium Protection Package. I have been told that as I signed the agreement I am liable. There has been no investigation into the deceitful behaviour of the rep at Belfast City Airport in offering one insurance package, but inserting a more expensive one on the agreement. Clearly an incentive or bonus for them! Europcar's attitude is basically 'tough... you signed.. You pay'. They are questioning my integrity and calling me a liar. I will not use them again and will advise friends and colleagues to steer well clear of this unscrupulous company. "

" Car worked well and was in mint condition. We wish we had selected a GPS option, which would have made our navigation easier. "
" When we picked up the car in Coleraine, we were not informed that the drop-off location in Belfast had limited hours (closing at 5 pm) and that 5 pm was a the absolute latest time we could drop off the car, so we were simply quite fortunate to find an AutoEurop agent on site who could help us with the key drop. The location of the office was not marked or visible from the main road and was difficult to locate. "
