" The car had engine faults within an hour of us picking in up. It needed to be regularly restarted to clear errors and would then ping up with engine fault every time we tried to climb a hill. It was very stressful and we were not given a way to contact the garage. The children were very worried about the repeated warning signs and it ruined what should have been a lovely day exploring the area. We told the counter staff on returning the car and it seemed that they knew about the error. I showed him photos of the repeated warning messages and asked for some money back. They refused because they said we had booked it through an agent so they did not have any money from us. "

We walked to Express Hire and they said the Exer number you supplied was out of date but they called Exer who then sent a car up to Epress to collect us. Exer advise us that you have out-of-date information on your vouchers and you do not update this despite them asking. We booked a jeep renegade for fun and was disappointed to get a Toyota CHR, understand that it is always 'or similar' but this company says they don't even have them so feel a bit cheated by that booking process. The car lacks air vents in the back (none at all!) so in the extreme heat it was a fridge at the front and Luke warm in the rear. Also slapped with £75 breakdown cover charge, basically frightened into paying it because Crete is mountainous and we were told we would be stuck if we didn't have it and needed it. Made the overall hire cost significantly higher. "

" Didn't meet us at Airport as I had been informed, I had to find their carlota after waiting for half an hour. The car was covered in scratches and dents. I was told not to worry about this, all will be fine. I am not an idiot and know how these companies operate. I took 25 photos of the damage and made sure the member of staff was shown in the pictures. The interior of the car was also badly stained. I was not issued any paperwork on collection. On returning the car, a different member of staff tried to imply the damage was caused by me. I then showed all the photographs to him, which were dated from the collection date. I also showed him pictures of the fuel gauge showing I had returned with more fuel than I had got on collection. I have no doubt whatsoever, had I been inexperienced or nieve in these matters and not taken all the pictures I would now be arguing the case to redeem a large amount of money exer were claiming for damages. I did not receive an email or paperwork on return and had to chase this up with your own office the following day. All in all the hire was a shambles and a farce. The car was fit for the scrap yard and exer gave the impression of being a bunch of bandits. I will never knowingly use exer again and will think seriously before using auto Europe again as I was not aware you were passing the booking to a 3rd party in the first place. The entire experience was wholly unsatisfactory, unprofessional and actually quite unsettling. "

On arriving we searched for N 85 Nobody at arrivals hade any idea concerning N85, so on exiting arrival's to look for N85. We where wondering around for something that did not exist, now time was getting on By the time we did find our Mini bus connection It had left the airport and we had to wait for over 1 hour and in total one hour and 30 minuets after I had to phone hired car company. Not a good start for my holiday. Your directions should of stated that On arrivals Exit No 5 turn Right for 20 meters and pick up bus is on your right. "

I'd never driven an automatic before but fortunately a couple who had been on the same flight said they would swap as they had an automatic car at home. They had paid far less than me and had hired a 5 speed manual fiat that had frontal damage. I asked for some money back and it was a case of like it or lump it with him saying they were nothing to do with Auto Europe. "

" I hired the car expecting a nearly new hire car, what I got was a very old car with scratches and dents on every panel, so many it was impossible to log all the scratches and damage to the vehicle. I made my views clear as they demanded €800 deposit for any damage, I asked for another car but was told there wasn't any, although there was plenty of vehicles available in the compound. Upon driving back to my hotel I found the air conditioning did not work, I emailed EXER but had no response. For the first 2 weeks I was only doing short journeys. On the last week I needed to use thd car on long journeys, the temperature was up to the 40s so needed air conditioning working, I had to drive an hour to ask for a replacement vehicle, they did but gave me another old car, slightly better paintwork but air conditioning wasn't great. In my opinion the cars given to me are not suitable as hire cars as they are too old. They haven't as yet returned my deposit to my card. "

" The car we paid for was not avble. A driver turned up in a vauxhall corsa 1 hr after arrival. The car was not big enough to transport the family so my wife and child remained at the terminal whilst I had to go to location. The car was not avble only a vauxhall corsa, no sat nav, certainly far from new and without any petrol. The company promised to exchange the following day but never called or answered the phone. The following day they got to the villa only to see another very old vehicle no sat nav and the person who dropped advised he only had 5 euros on him so again the tank was empty. I requested a contact at least 6 times and was promised but never sent these documents. A 900 euro deposit was paid when I collected the wrong car, this amount was taken in the name of ROYSTEMIS RAFAIL and remains as a charge on my account so this money is held by the bank. "

" We used auto europe and Exer last year and had a very good experience which was why we used the same provider again. Unfortunately the experience this year was extremely disappointing. Car rental is very competitive at Corfu Airport so I will be considering alternative options when I book car hire again later this year. "
" Pick up was meant to be Meet & Greet with sign. No one was there to meet us. We had to phone the company for them to collect us. She took numerous photos of the condition of the car & 3 main areas of damage were identified. She told me this would be emailed to me but when the email arrived only 1 area was showing on the electronic document. When they gave me the keys to the car I asked if there was anything I needed to know & was told it was self explanatory. Unfortunately it wasn't & I had to go back into the office twice for clarification of how some things worked ie the window wipers (it was raining). We understood the fuel was meant to be Full to Full. The contract stated 3/8 of a tank. The fuel light came on within 2km of driving away from their office. I phoned them & they said they'd change the contract to 2/8ths which I wasn't happy about. I put €50 of fuel in the car but the fuel gauge didn't change. I phoned them & they said I needed to drive 5-10km for it to register. I continued to my destination over 35km away & it still hadn't changed. The petrol gauge was not working. I phoned them again & they asked me to email photos. They confirmed that their email address they had used for the contract was correct but when I opened the email it was a Do not reply address! They offered to change the car but I pointed out I'd put €50 of fuel in the car and was now over 35km away from their office. "

" Having not accepted for very good reasons the rental car booked on Auto Europe website also paying for cancellation protection and reserving additional cover for £32.20 . I have twice emailed and requested a refund and twice so far been given feeble excuses and not been offered a refund . I have done nothing wrong in refusing the rental from Exer and am very disappointed at this stage to have to fight my case when it is plainly obvious a refund should have been offered immediately. I expect a positive response in the near future . "

Had reserved an added insurance of £32.20 on Auto E website only to be charged €132 for the same insurance , which I refused to partake as I wasn't expecting these hidden extras . Was told to either pay the €132 and €200 cash excess or no car . As we had already rejected the vehicle due it's condition there was no further transaction . Had to taxi to our accommodation at 1 am in the morning and hired from a local company called U Drive and was satisfied with their terms and conditions . "

" The car hire voucher stated "Meet and Greet with Sign" at Corfu Airport. I was expecting an individual displaying either my name, or the the name of the car hire company, Exer. We didn't see anybody. After waiting some time I phoned Exer and was informed that someone would collect us 'shortly'. This didn't happen. We were also told that because of police restrictions we couldn't be picked up by the airport exit, although other private vehicles and car hire companies were doing the same After three more phone calls, I spotted a pick up car, with the sticker 'Exer' in the windscreen. This is hardly 'meet and greet' and was very difficult to spot given the number of people and vehicles about. Overall, we waited over an hour to be picked up. Thereafter the service was fine. Exer need to sharpen up their pick up procedure from the airport. Hence the overall grade. "

" Happy with the experience. However would have liked the MEET and GREET to be a little better as I had to chase up by mobile for the car having waited over 30 mins plus once through the airport. It wasn't as efficient as it could have been. Also the clutch of the car wasn't that good - there are some very steep hills in Corfu and trying to manage hill starts was interesting with us often rolling back as I tried to get into first gear. Drop off was easy and the staff at the office were friendly. I would recommend again. "
