" Auto Europe failed to provide the correct information about the pickup. The office was NOT located in the airport. It is located in a local hotel which I only discovered by asking another rental company representative. This is very stressful for someone arriving after a flight. To have to walk around the airport searching for the pickup point is ridiculous. I would not recommend Auto Europe on this basis because I would not want someone else to suffer the stress I had to go through. "

When I refused, they doubled the security deposit from €600 to €1,200 and then refused my UK credit card because it lacked embossed numbers -- despite UK banks no longer issuing them. However, they were happy to accept the same credit card to purchase their insurance that they refused to accept for the security deposit. Aggressive upselling, misinformation, and obstruction. Completely unacceptable. I won't be using Flex to go again. "

Unable to see the information entered into contract by counter staff until contract emailed. " Until recently I would have recommended autoeurope without question from other good experiences, however I feel the company is also part to blame for my expertise this time as cross boarder charges are not mentioned anywhere (or at hidden deep in the T&C's if they are) which I would think should be standard practice when hiring at any airport or location close to an international boarder. Why is it not put into the "charges to be paid locally" section of your booking forms? And why is the value for this charge not mentioned as an additional cost also so you can compare and consider this at the time of booking? I would like to heat back on this from you, as I feel this constitutes an hidden or unadvertised charge which is extremely poor verging on fraudulent activity which left me well out of pocket and potentially could have seen me stranded in the middle of the night at a remote airport and unable to complete my travel plans! When I said I still didn't need it he told me that he would place a block of €1000 on my credit card which would remain in place for 30 days, but if I paid him €150 he would waive that. But the experience was a rotten start to our holiday and I certainly would not use this car hire agent again. the car was lovely, and my return experience was very positive, but this type of sales experience should really not take place in my view. " When I was handed the keys to the car and located the car itself it had not been cleaned inside. The previous customer had left some sweets on the back seat and the car was not in pristine condition. The vehicle itself was of a high quality. I felt the explanation of some of the terms and conditions could have been made clearer to some of the other customers which would have set their expectation. Primarily the pre-authorization of credit cards for those in terms and conditions some customers felt they were being hard on by. Overall my general experience was satisfied about not overly blown away. "

" I am very displeased with my experience with this rental and I expect Auto Europe to deal with my complaint which neither your reservations team has done yet (request#4344206) or your customer service team (request #4358249, where I've been told your response time will be 6-8 weeks). Just to sum up the issue, I arrived at 10.30pm at the desk to pick up the car but Flex to Go said they could not accept my credit card as they had a policy requiring six month of validity following the return of the car (my card was still valid for 100 days but they needed 180). My other cards were an AMex (which they don't accept) and a debit card (which they would take either). I proposed adding my wife as a driver and using her VISA but they said the original booking was in my name so they couldn't do this either. In the end I was only offered the possibility of paying €320 to get their Insurance Plus product as well as pre-paying the fuel of the car (an additional €50). I called Auto Europe on the spot but was offered no solution other than calling customer service the following day. With 2 young children at 11pm in Hahn airport and 40 miles away from my airbnb, I was left with no choice but to pay this amount to be able to get the car. This credit card policy is completely non-standard and was not flagged by Auto Europe to me when I did the booking. I believe Auto Europe should not be offering a company with this non-standard policy at all or at least have this properly informed to clients. Therefore I would like Auto Europe to refund me for this amount. "

" Extremely poor from the start. The various shuttle vehicles I saw are not fit for purpose. The van that arrived at the terminal could not accommodate everyone who was waiting nor my skis. I had to wait for another hour to be picked up after the van left. The station wagon which then arrived seemed to be a private car and was very crammed and just managed to fit my skis. People were left as the queue of people left waiting was very large. At the pick up, Flex to Go charged 150 Euro for my cross-border trip (Germany to Munich). In over 10 years of using Auto Europe, this is the highest I have ever been charged for this. The person at the desk then used this as a ploy to sell me their insurance which used the amount for the cross border as a way of making their insurance seem palatable. The person produced a piece of paper outlining their insurance options and which would avoid me leaving a credit card deposit (the usual process). Their cost was 292 Euro. When I complained at the cost of the cross-border fee, the person justified it by saying "but you didn't pay a lot for the cost of the car hire". I put it to you that this process is a scam - a honey trap. Where Flex to Go entice people by relatively cheap car hire options and then trap you with the cost of the cross-border fee. Additionally, when I was waiting to pick up my vehicle, the customer in front of me said to the person processing their vehicle that they were staying in Germany and not crossing into another country. The Flex to Go person said that all their vehicles were fitted with GPS and that if they found out that they had cross a border they would be fined 1000 euro. I put it to you that this sounded like a threat! I was made to feel very uncomfortable by the Flex to Go person's manner and threat. I will never use Flex to Go again. "

" I am seeking a refund and out of pocket expenses relating to the booking below. The product sold as advised did not exist 1 It clearly states pick up and drop off point Munich Airport office. FlextoGo do not have a Munich airport office they are based in Freising 8 kms from the airport. I never book off airport car hire. 2 Our flight arrival into Munich was delayed by 1 hour 15 minutes (23.30 ) On entering the Car Hire airport around midnight Europcar (the only office open ) advised me the FlextoGo office was in Freising . 3 I called your uk number 1233 255114 at 23.15 uk to receive a voice mail saying your office was closed until Friday morning 4 At that point I elected to transfer to our Airport Hotel by taxi at a cost of 35 euros. 4 Friday morning I called FlextoGo and was told as I had not arrived by 22.00 (their closing time) and having no knowledge of flight number the reservation was cancelled but I could rebook at a cost of 150 Euro. I declined their offer. I did advise them that my flight was printed out on my reservation and voucher issued by Auto Europe but they repeated they had no such information. I therefore request a full refund and my local taxi expenses to and from the airport from our overnight accommodation of 55 Euros "

I called the number on desk and communicated my drop off, and if someone could check and confirm my vehicle was with no damage, but have been told it could only be verified later that day. As by magic I have been charged for an invisible damage on the front screen! Not only that, but after nearly 3 weeks have no received further communication, and my deposit has not been refunded yet. " The car I suppose to pick up wasn't ready and needed to be changed at the point of collection. This was very chaotic and time consuming. Car required cleaning and refuelling, milage didn't get updated. At the point of drop-off (Sunday, 9am) everything was OK. On Tuesday I checked my credit card and 500€ deposit didn't get refunded. When I checked my email, I had a very dodgy looking invoice for 500€ for allegedly taking the car outside of Germany. Unbelievable!!!!! I contacted my bank immediately, blocked the transaction, triggered chargeback procedure and requested to block the merchant completely! Absolute scammers!!!!! Avoid like a plague!!!! "

" After what happened to us we checked the experience of other customers with Flextogo and alas noticed that every single customer had a similar experience to ours. Being accused of damaging the car and being asked to pay thousands of pounds for that. Now I reckon you should guarantee for the companies you list on your website as we trust you as mediator for our purchases. However in this occasion, you failed to protect us from scams perpetrated by this company and as other customers on Trustpilot highlighted, there would be difficult to trust you as a broker in the future "
" Staff was too busy with customers at the drop off and asked us to leave the car, drop the keys without checking the status of the car and releasing our deposit upon verifying everything was in order. We trusted them as the car was well taken care of and in the same conditions as it was at the start of rental. However, the following day, we shockingly found out that they still held the deposit and prompted us to complete a form as they allegedly claimed they found a scratch on the car. We immediately replied by email about the untruthfulness of the claim and that they themselves have acted against their policies by not checking the car at the drop off and we claimed that they must have been the ones who damaged the car. Luckily, after spending the whole day dealing with this ordeal, we noticed they had returned our deposit in full. "

We arrived earlier and still could have cleaned a little bit of dust on the matts, if they think it is dirty. Also was given automatic instead of manual. And we were charged extra for traveling to other contries, of which i was not aware at the time of booking. Had to pay 100€, couldnt say no as our hotel was already booked. So for one day of being outside off Germany cost us so much money - even if it was 5times closer than the other side of Germany. " Car was hired from Flex to Go in Cologne. They initially wanted 1200 Euros for the deposit which I finally managed to negotiate down to 500 Euros. I told them I had full insurance, they didnt care.! I then asked to drop off the car in Dusseldorf as I had to travel from a different airport. They emails me and said this was OK but would cost an addition 205 Euros. I called and emailed them 5 times for clarification on the drop off point and contact numbers, no one responded for 2 days and I ultimately had to leave the car in Witten and leave the keys with my client. One of the most stressful car rentals I've ever had in my life. Totally inadequate company with no proper emergency number or email address that works.! "

" Booking through Auto Europe and as a regular hirer of cars at Cologne Airport my first time experience in using Flex To Go was very disappointing when compared to the other car rental companies at this airport. Herewith are the customer service shortfalls experienced on my booking. 1. Confusion as to the whereabouts of the car keys resulted in a 35min. delay in driving away with the allocated vehicle. 2. Extensive damage on the vehicle was not noted on the rental documents. Attempting to inform a person was difficult as the counter/phone no. is not manned at all times. 3. Eventually a person responded and said; " don't worry about the damage as it was a vehicle that was due to be sold and we had no alternative but to take off the vehicle sale line". 4. The approx. kms. driven was no more than 350 during my rental, however the mileage recorded on the final rental docs. is 899?? 5. The rental doc. indicates 50% fuel level, however the car was full at the start of the rental period 6. There was no mandatory Parkschein in the car, I therefore had to buy this item during the hire period. "
